  1. I'll miss that old messed up corner as part of the field.I'll have to come down and check the field out when were not playing in Kingsport.I remember big Ramond Perry playing for the Devils. It seems like he was about 6' 2'' and around 240 . Ran a 4.6 and benched the world.I know your young D will still hit somebody

Raymond is a great man. He is my pastor. He is still a very large strong fellow.

  2. Hey guys, I am new here and I wanted to ask you a question. We played there back in 2002 (Graham,VA), and I loved your stadium, I was just wondering when they put down the turf, did they dig out the corner of the endzone in the east end that went up the hill? I loved that. I hope it stayed. Thanks.

Boy that was a great game between the G-Men and the Devils!!! Ahmad Bradshaw, WOW! I think we shut him down though, he averaged bout 225 on the ground a game, and we held to only 175 rushing /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  3. George Quarles, coach of the Maryville Red Rebels, has been selected to coach in the US Army All-American Game, held annually in January. Congrats GQ.

On a side note, Volunteer fans, you'll remember that it was this game last year when UT sured up its secondary for the next 4 years (thank you, Mr. Berry).

Will he be the Head Coach of a team or just an assistant

  4. For WR's and QB's the Furman University camp is very good. The players get alot of work done during the 4-Day camp. If your looking for good QB instruction, head to Columbia, SC to the University of South Carolina, and work with the Ol' Ball Coach. I went there before my soph. and my junior season. Went to Furman before my Senior season.

  5. The reason I think east has a real chance in this game is because of our D. They have played solid all year but against fulton. They gave up a few big plays and the O killed them with field position. With the lineup changes that have been made, I think they actually will have the better D of the season on the field. I am not saying the D will win it but could keep us in it and give our O a chance to do something.........much like other games this year.

The defense for East has been really good at times this year. By no means are the Devils over looking the Canes. It seems as if East always has great athletes year in and year out. Greeneville will need a solid game. The three headed monster for Greeneville keeps getting better, but it still depends on the Biggins up front. Hernandez, McNeese, Whitehead, Everhart, and Duncan.

  6. ok If i recall correctly except for the loss to greeneville south is mowing teams over. I really hope tn high has there own curt phillips b/c if u can't make an attempt to slow him down then u lose. Oh and if u do play west they will beat u anyways but u won't get to west u will play us correct

That one dude is really high on Tennessee High, well whatever. Greeneville fans know the biggest game right now is Morristown East. If pigs fly and Tennessee High beats South I will be surprised. WHO CARES about Region 1, this post is about Greeneville and East. The Devils will be prepared. The coaches will have the whole day to get the team ready to play on Friday.

  7. Just looking over the past 10 years at playoff I noticed that region 1 has won a total of 33 games, Region 2 has 37 wins. What is noticeable is that Morristown West has accounted for 19 of the wins in region 2. Winning the past 5 years regional title.

My point is that with West down this year and everyone kinda remains the same (Greenville on the way back up) Region 1 was a little better, BUT NOT LIKE 2004 WHEN THEY SWEPT, if you want to bring up years past.

West has been the power lately and they are in reg 2, I give you that. But outside them not much to bragg about.

Greenville , West vs Tn. High, South

    Tn High beat West

    South Beats Greenville (this time)

    Tn High wins

I hope GreenEville gets to play Tennesse High. We have seen them in person, and we have the last laugh on them, 02' playoffs 40-8 in the Stone Castle. They had a good team but 11-1 doesn't quite cut it. Play tougher teams in the regular season. Its like comparing the SEC and the Big Ten.

  8. I remeber last year when east did not have a chance at south before the game and beat the snot out of them. Region 2 is better than region 1. Region 1 plays each other and a few teams from up there and rolls up a good record and then folds in the playoffs. when region 1 studs beat a good team from region 2 then I will give credit but right now, they have not. GHS beat South this year. East beat south last year and west thumped TH last year. No disrespect but theyhave to win a game against a top 2 region 2 team for me to consider that region as stronger.

Great post canefan72! Lets talk about the game this week in Region 2, who cares about region 1! Should be a good game, Greeneville will be ready. I'm sure the Canes will be ready. Devils have had 2 really good days of practice. We'll have to see how sloppy practice gets today considering the weather.

  9. The teams from region 2 are not as tough as region 1.

    SERIOUSLY though...

With West down this year, I think Greenville may be the best???

I just think you will find that TN. is much better than them all.

Tennessee High must have improved alot, because they scrimmage Greeneville before the season and weren't very impressive. Greeneville has made great strides since then. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

  10. Well, look at the Five Rivers, its competitive. (If the Devils lucked up then I'll take luck anyday. Look back at the stats of that game too, Greeneville lost three fumbles inside their red-zone.) The MLC bottom half is terrible. Besides Cocke County and Crockett, the Five Rivers is a solid conference. I can't wait until the playoffs, and we'll see. You worry about your DB Indians making it past the first round of the playoffs this year. I know my Devils haven't made it the last two, but thats a different story this year.

Also look at the schedule that each of the MLC teams play. Do they venture out of state, they barely venture out ot Sullivan County.

I agree with Devilfan77 totally. I just feel that the MLC doesn't play tough schedules.

  11. Well what kind of "44"do they play there genius?? Is it a 2, 6, 3 and 5? Do they still run the DE up the field for contain (not smart) or do the OLB have flat responsability? What!? Surely your not gonna just tell me the play "weak" defense and leave it at that.

tcpioneer3 are you even in Tennessee right now? Are you in Georgia? If so I think you and I may have some things in common.

  12. Lightning in a bottle, is a great name. But which one are you refering too. Barner or Hall. They are both juniors and getting better every game. Hope they continue to this week also. Greenway won't make the throw across the middle against East. He will be corrected on that decision. I'm sure today that he will be DRILLED on that.

  13. We all know that Morristown West tends to struggle in "sloppy" conditions. Remember O2' and 03' when games were moved because of bad conditions. We'll see if the field gets sloppy on Friday. As one of my former coaches always said, "They're white collar and we're blue collar!" The Devils know what I'm talking about. Oops, I went against saying anything about the Trojans!!!
