  1. Game has been canceled due to poor field conditions at Riverdale. Both coaches met at the field and made the determination. Riverdale goes on as the number one seed, hosting Tuesday night. Siegel is number two traveling to Franklin Co. or Columbia depending on the outcome of tonight's game at 7 in Columbia.

  2. No way.. Bearden was up 2-1 at halftime, Farragut scored twice in about 30 seconds to go up 3-2. Then Fisher's goal put em up 4-2. Bearden came back to tie it 4-4. Ryan Campbell had the heel shot to tie the game with about 3:30 left.

Whatever and whoever, I got the game winner! It's a great photo (Please excuse the extreme lack of humiltiy). If you have the date and all you can probably find it on SportsPix.

  3. I took a photogrpah of that last goal...free kick.

It's archived somewhere, but I do have it. It shows the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" to borrow a line from ABC's Wide Wild of Sports (younger folks, aske your parents about it), all in one incredible photograph.

It may still be listed on Sports Pix. I was helping them the day I took it.

  4. I'm a big believer in putting the cart before the horse, so here goes....

Who do you think will make All-State this year. Last year, in AAA, there were 15 forwards, 15 midfielders, 15 defenders, and GK's. In D2, it was 9, 9, 9, and 4. In A/AA, it was 42 total players.

If you put somebody down, please note division, position, name, and school.

Hannah McGowen, a Junior for Riverdale, would be my choice at midfield. She has had the winning goal in most of the 1-0 vicitories in the home stretch. She is alway invovled in the action and gives 100% for 80 minutes (plus ot's) everytime she hits the field.

Forward goes to Riverdale Sr. Becca Smith. Ashley Watson, a Riverdale Freshman, could easily be picked for that spot too.

Defender would be any of the goal stingy defenders on the Riverdale squad.

Hey, I'm hoping that Saturday afternoon the entire Riverdale squad proves they are the All-State team!

  5. During a game I might shot a couple hundred shots, but I only post what I consider to be pretty good ones. I especially like interesting shots. Some of the most interesting ones might not even have anything to do with the game. I was given access to the locker room and pre-game/half-time area the team Riverdale football team uses and got some interesting shots there. Some of them are in the Riverdale fooball gallery section, or may be on my site ( www.BrotherTomPhotos.com ) by now. I usually don't look at a lot of the work posted, but Sammie does some great football work over in East TN. The quality of his work is what I'm trying to replicate.

BTW, thanks Brother Tom for posting so many pictures of your team this season. You have a nice eye for the shots, and you obviously have good equipment to capture these so close up....

Thanks! It has been a pleasure to photograph these talented and classy young ladies for about three years now. I have been fortunate to upgrade my equipment over those years. I look forward to photographing them in the state tourney...hopefully...through Saturday!
