  1. With the running back that they have, as well as they want to in the regular season. They could potentially advance in the playoffs this year.

I assume you are talking about Southward? He is a beast. They continue to get better each year, and got a tough draw last season with Hoover being penalized and having to forfeit games. But I tell ya what, they had an electric atmosphere at that game and if they can continue to get fan support, the sky is the limit for that program. I think they win the region easily this season, and I haven't checked the region matchups for the playoffs, but I dont think they should be matched up against R6 again (toughest overall in 6A), so they should win in the playoffs at least once this season IMO.

  2. To kick off the upcoming football season, we here at Alabama.CoachT.Com have opened the first fan poll of the season. It is a preseason poll that will run until Wednesday August 27th. Also CoachT.Com will have it's own poll consisting of the input from administrators and moderators on the site. I encourage you all to vote in the preseason fan poll as well as the subsequent polls to be presented throughout the season.

Here are a couple of links to keep in mind, especially when doing preseason.

    Here are last seasons records:

  3. This should be an interesting match-up. Teams from TN rarely get the chance to play live on ESPN. What is your score prediction for the game?

I don't know as much about Brentwood Academy as I probably should, but I do know Prattville has been a terror the last couple of years. I'm glad this will be on ESPN, I will definitely try to watch it, probably have to record it but nonetheless. Just gut feeling says Prattville by 10. I could be completely wrong though.

  4. Yep. I got Brooks as an early 17 points favorite. Brooks lost a lot of their playmakers from last year and Lauderdale County was very young. I think this will be a much better game than last season but Brooks still should have a sizeable gap on them. Some of the Lauderdale County fans seem to think they will shock the world and send Brooks packing, but I do not see it happening. I have heard a few people say Brooks should win by at least 35, but I'm not quite buying that yet either.

  5. I talked to someone in the know concerning West Morgan.

I think they are going to do better than 3rd brother. I am picking them to be the darkhorse contender for the title.

I know who they're working with, how many of them are doing it, and what that workout is. They will be TOUGH this year.

Remember they beat a good East Limestone team last year....Things could be special in Trinity.

I have heard, and it may have possibly been on this very forum, that West Morgan's QB is a transfer from a much larger school. Maybe even a 6A program? Is that what you've heard? I hear they do look very strong. Colbert County will be a juggernaut though and with Clay County gone, they look to reassume 3A North control. Lauderdale will be much improved, but I think they'll have a rude awakening in the opening week.

  6. I haven't heard any. Although I would like to. If you hear any, please post them. If you know anyone who has any information, send them here please. If I hear anything on any of the camps, I will post it.

  7. I've added the roster for Westminster Christian Academy. QB #8, Brian Park, needs to be added as a prospect. Statistically, he had 2308 passing yards last season on 196 of 347 passing. Thanks!

I added him as a prospect and posted last year's numbers on his bio. Nice job on the roster. Hopefully more users will take a cue from that and post theirs.

  8. Soon CoachT.com will add a feature so that when adding rosters and games, a new page will open. For now though, it's in popup format. So to take advantage of these interactive features, for the time being, you will need to disable your popup blockers. I will let you know more when I do.

  9. Ok, clarified. What you (as users) can do is add rosters or one, two or three players, whatever you want to, and then if you tell me they need to be added as a prospect (in other words, genuine potential to play college ball -- at any level -- or colleges of any level showing interest) I can then mark said player as a prospect and add him to the database.

  10. Just to let you know, I can now update the prospect database. I am not sure if you can yourself. You can try and if you can't, let me know and if you give me the information I will add him. But I believe you will be able to, with my (or CoachT's approval).

  11. Just to follow up. I am not able to edit prospects at this time, CoachT is looking into it. If you can, go ahead and add him. Find your team using the search function on the main page, then go into the football link on the team's page. From there choose roster, if you have an active "edit roster" link, then you can add the young man. If not, we will look further into it to get the problem resolved. Again, spread the word, if you know anyone who wants to come to the site and do things like that (add rosters, add prospects) for all sports, not just football, then please point them in this direction. We would love to have them.

  12. Yeah, we saw Red Bay in the spring. They don't look as impressive as last year. Their QB is not exactly stellar, so it looks like they may be going from under center a lot this year. Still, the line looked quite good and they are obviously well coached.

As far as our QB is concerned, I'll post him up on the prospect database, assuming it's currently possible. He's listed on both Rivals and espn.com. He was supposed to go to the tuscaloosa Nike Camp/Elite 11 qualifier in the spring, but was forced to miss due to a 3rd round playoff baseball game (He hit 3 home runs in the first 2 games of the series). I believe that really could have helped his recruitment take off, but so it goes. Currently Birmingham Southern and West Georgia are the most interested teams. Memphis said they really liked his pocket presence and his arm, but felt he was too small (5' 11", 180 lbs.) to play in their league. Another 3 inches and he'd be a solid D1 prospect.

Well I wish you guys the best of luck. It would be a feel good story and I can't help but root for the underdog. I am checking with CoachT now to see about the prospect database. Keep an eye on this thread and I will give more information later if you can't figure it out (because I can't). You can also add the whole roster if you get it. I am planning on trying to add some shoals area teams rosters once they become available.

  13. The already solid offense should be even better, with some great speed and talent including a sophomore receiver who led the Huntsville metro area in receptions as a freshman, a 6' 5" tight end with great hands, a running back that runs a legitimate high 4.5 in the 40, and one of the best QB's in North Alabama, who is getting college interest from the D2 and D3 level.

Red Bay does lose a decent bit. The graduation of Makepeace will definitely take away from their explosiveness, but they are usually pretty good nonetheless.

As far as the QB you are talking about, if he is garnering any collegiate interest, whether it be DI, DII or DIII or even NAIA, you can post him in our Prospect Database ( I think, I may need to check with CoachT to make sure that's doable at this point), but even if it's not, if you can get me his information I will add him to the database.

  16. In light of the circumstances surrounding Propst's departure, Hoover will be searching for a replacement who is an excellent football coach with impeccable moral credentials.

Maryville High School in Tennessee is moving up to 5A after one more season and, although they can more than just compete with the 5A schools, there are some unknowns there.

Hoover High pays considerably more than Maryville.

But, here is the kicker- last May, Dr. Kenneth Jarnagin left the job as principal of Maryville high school. Guess who is now principal of Hoover and a good friend of Maryville coach George Quarles? You guessed it- Dr. Kenneth Jarnagin!

Who do you think will get the first call to fill Propst's position?

  17. As most of you may know, Hoover High School's Coach Propst has resigned effective at the end of the playoffs. In light of the circumstances surrounding his departure, Hoover will be searching for a replacement who is an excellent football coach with impeccable moral credentials.
