Maybe I’m wrong, but westy is due to shock the Tigers. Could this be a repeat of ‘19 when the eagles took down the tigers defending the nest?

Anything is possible but the tigers have way to many good players to ever let this happen. "i think"

I believe TC will be down this year. Lost a lot of good seniors and don’t seem to have the talent in the lower classes to replace them. Unless there are some transfers I haven’t heard about. Still have a few good players from last year but they need some more to be a well rounded team.

in the east, Meigs and Hampton also lost a lot of good players. And Marion and Watertown will need to replace their Qbs, both of whom seemed to make their offenses click.  The team with the most returning talent in the east is Tyner.  Could this be their year?

dont know as much about the west. Some think Huntington will be good. And I think westview will still be strong even after losing Simpson.  They had some good athletes and size and are one of the largest 2A schools having just dropped down from 3A.

    Every year the same saying!

Trust me the only time TC is down is at bedtime.

  3. Upperman will be tough again.

Westmoreland will be good but cant score points they could make it to sub but not likely.

Mcmin. central could very well make some noise.

Macon  is in trouble for about two years and then they'll b back strong. If your gonna beat them better do it this year.

Upperman is my pick to win it all. Great players and size and good coach to go with it.

“Westy” is Westmoreland an incredible defensive team. They were the only team to beat Macon in 2019-20 by 3 points. Macon had some injuries and roasted them by 17 in a rematch. Strange thing is Macon and Westmoreland are only 15 miles apart and part of Westmoreland is in Macon County (kids go to Macon) and the 2 teams are in completely different Districts.

If westy ever gets a good scorer it will be lights out. Their D IS THE BEST WEPAON. Scoring points consistently is the only weak part once it's get figured out they will be tough on any team.

MC overcame a ton of adversity. Picked 3rd in the district by some. Lost Keeley Carter and others after last years heart breaking end. And got it done with 5 players. Credit to Larry White. You can now say he will go down as one of the greats! PROUD TO BE A TIGER!

He is the greatest coach of all time in macon county there is not even a close second.

  6. Don't anyone over look Maplewood they are big and fast. I'm not saying they'll win a game but beating them wont be an easy task. Tallest player in this tournament is on Maplewood's team and can play.

Macon vs Westview. Pulling for my buddy Coach White!

I hope your right but gonna have to have a little luck and things go macon's way for it to happen. There are some good teams in this tournament.

That would be something and a great retirement gift.

he ant going anywhere win or loose. Might take a year or two to reload but if it does it wont be any longer than that.

Yes I did, but what some people don’t understand is that Meigs and Upperman are really close. Both have pretty much the same teams from last year. Meigs lost two good roll players but returned all 5 starters that all have signed to play at the next level. Those girls can play and York might win but I believe they will have to play a really good game to do so.

york want quit and can play. i feel like meigs will win but i promise you'll know york is there they will not go quietly.

Some how I have a feeling there’s a guy in Macon County that’s feeling pretty good about his teams chances right about now. York would be that team of destiny who knows. Get hot at the right time and anything can happen!

he want sleep a wink and grabbing another gear.

Fly Eagles Fly.... I’ll not say anymore until a later date.

Anybody that says they ant real good dont know ball. Bad night at the wrong time. Upperman will be a force again next year im slow but not last.

I don’t blame her. We played terrible. Upperman even got the calls to go their way and still lost. One of the best Upperman teams ever to come out flat like that.

I still say one of the best teams in the state just a bad night and it happens but in 8aa it usually bites.

Totally agree with you on that one. I think matchups will be:

    McMinn Central @ Upperman

    Macon County @ Meigs County

Macon could pull off the win in Baxter if they can play a consistent game like at the end of the regular season. I think Central could also pull out a win against Meigs as well.

For macon to ever beat upperman again or any other good team for here on out somebody else has to do a little scoring.

8AA will send a quality team no matter who it is, but Meigs still has work to do. They will more than likely have to beat McMinn Central two more times or Signal Mountain, to host substate. It looks like 8AA district tournament will be delayed for a few days with more bad weather coming tomorrow night. Do you think teams will have to play games closer together?

I think that's a great idea but they have other thoughts and no telling how it will be worked

Someone said Meigs couldn’t hang and if they believe that then they could be in for a big surprise. And yes Upperman beat a Bradley team that was replacing some players without much practice because of Coved, not saying they couldn’t do it again. The only other common opponent is Kingston. York won 60-21 and Meigs won 72-25 not that it really means anything. Meigs missed several games earlier this year do to coved but they are playing really good ball right now. They start 5 seniors and all 5 have signed to play at the next level, and you can ask any Upperman fan how good is Meigs, because they know it took three over times last year for Upperman to beat Meigs twice.    Look I know that 8AA is a good district but if it works out like it should, and I said IF, then any team coming to Meigs will have to play a really good game to leave there with a win.

I'm going to agree with you now after doing a little research. Who ever comes to meigs it will be a good game and could go either way.
