We appreciate the support. THANKS!
2priceless I will be there tonight also...Are you going to treat me to one of those famous OHS hotdogs that we always hear about? haha
-
Did anyone hear about Youree quitting at Smyrna...I heard he walked into the coaches offices and told him he wasnt happy and he didnt want to play anymore...Whats wrong with this kid, this is his senior year, and he was lucky that Shadowens took him in the first place after what he did at OHS, then hes going to go through all the two a days and stuff, then three days before the first game he up and quits. Whats up with this kid?
-
Gotta go with the Blaze. But this one will be close, it all comes down to Blackman's defense. They do just enough to will by 7!

Phil needs to run his *** all the way back to Smyrna!

Alright its time for my picks,
1.Riverdale--Their still the champs until someone beats them.
2.Smyrna--Might be the best team in the region, but can they get over the hump this year and finally beat "the big red machine?"
3.LaVergne--Got alot returning from a pretty good team last year.
4.Wilson Central--Seem to have things rolling out there
5.Siegel--This pick may surprise some people but I really do thing Watson has this program headed in the right direction.
6.Lebanon--You just never know about the Blue Devils
7. Blackman--Could be the most improved team in the region this year. Physically they are much better, and the coaching situation has finally worked itself out. But the Blaze are still very young, and watch out for their freshman class!!
8.Oakland--Sorry "Priceless" someone has to finish last. haha
-
Anyone interested in starting up the Region 4 Pick em ???
Yeah come on "Priceless" you have to get that started again!

Personally, I think Watson would do a great job at Riverdale. Look at what he has done at Siegel...He took a program that was put at an immediate disadvantage of having to play a full varsity schedule, in the toughest district in the state in its first year. He took his lumps, but got this team to another level last year. They were one game away from the playoffs last year, and ended with a winning record.(6-5) Alot of teams would kill to go 6-5 in this region. heck, ask the Blackman staff...Fact is Siegel was one of the most disciplined and well coached teams that I saw in this area last year. And if he stays at Siegel I got news for all of you, they will be a force to be reckoned with next season. They are young and talented, and their freshman team had alot of talent on it last year.
Now maybe this is a personal thing between some of you all and Watson??? And believe me I can understand that. I played for the man at RHS and BHS, and Im not going to lie, we butted heads a few times during my playing days. But since I graduated I have kind of gotten to know Watson a little better and as an aspiring coach myself, I have alot of respect for what the man has done over at Siegel.
If I remember correctly there werent to many people that had to many positive things to say about Rankin during his tenure at The 'Dale. But the fact is the man was a winner. And Watson is of the same breed. He knows how to work, and he knows what it takes to win at this level. Plus, Watson is a young guy. So you dont have to worry about him coaching 4 or 5 years and leaving to go somewhere else.
I just dont see how Mr. Nolan could go wrong with picking this guy.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN IT IS LIKE YOU DROPPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH....are going to umprie at MBA this year
No Im not going back out there this year. Im just going to do travel league this summer. Plus Im going to work down at Nissan this summer.
Are you over your mourning period after the "Mighty Rankin" has left? Give me a call sometime!
-
You cant blame the guy for wanting to get out of there. Things are bad over there right now, and I dont see them getting any better anytime soon. I wish coach Shockley all the best at MC.
-
Boys Boys Boys, its obvious who will get the first shot at the Riverdale job, if he wants it...Ron Crawford(Brentwood). And I will tell you this, if Crawford takes this job, then everybody in Rutherford Co. is in alot of trouble. Crawford will be even more successful than Rankin was there. Im just not real sure that they will be able to get Crawford away from Brentwood. Hes pretty much got it made over there. The parents give him whatever he wants, and he gets paid pretty nicely also.

You right, it's bad when the best player in blackman history from 00-02 be like.I should have stayed at riverdal thats the worst thing I ever did. I mean we had a chance but, it's just the fact you playin Riverdale and no matter how much time left or what the score is or how many times they turn the ball over You just cant stop riverdale and eventualy they gone stop you. So the best thing is just to hope a lot of people get hurt and they run out of time. Becaues they have only been physicaly beat 3 time in the last 14 year, and all them teams were final four or better teams
Well buddy when you talk about Blackman's best player ever, two guys come to mind, and I happen to be very good friends with both of them. Matter of fact we were all talking about this the other night, and we all agreed that we have never regretted for a minute transferring from Riverdale to Blackman. We did what we had to do, and we all stand behind our decision to leave. I dont know where you get your information but you are so far off its not even close.
As for the Blaze lifting 3 times a day, actually its only two times a day. But its not very healthy at all. The muscles have no chance to recover. You may get some results at first but you will eventually hit a wall, and eventually start losing strength. And if Im not mistaken they have already had some weight lifting related injuries.
-
Unless the Blaze decide on just which offense they want to run there wont be a whole lot of improvement from last year. Last year alone I know they ran at least 3 offenses throughout the year (the I, The Spread, and the Wing-T) and the thing is they didnt do any of them well! I do believe that there is some talent in the sophomore class this year, and there might be two upcoming Freshman that my never see a freshman uniform, they may have to play varsity. As for Mimms, I have always tried to stand up for the kid, but the fact is that last year he turned into a cancer, kind of a Terrell Owens situation. Somebody needs to get a control on the situation or hes going to keep spinning out of control. I really do hope everything works out for the kid, because he obviously has the potential to be very special.
-
What about Andy McCollum? haha!
-
58-0 Riverdale
-
Is he really transferring to Riverdale?
His mother wont allow that to happen!

you get the award for the most informative / non biased post on this thread. thank you.
I just call it like I see it.

I really could care less about the "Siegel Nation". Personally, I get a kick out of Siegel's student section. But noone in that section will play a snap on Friday night, so I dont know why everyone is making such a big deal about it on this thread.
And as for you people picking Blackman, have you not seen any of the past 9 games? Blackman is 0-9 for a reason guys, sure you can say they have had alot of injuries, and they have. Sure you can say that they just dont have much talent, and they dont. But the fact is they just arent very fundamentally sound in any aspect of the game. And that comes down to coaching. They dont do anything very well. They dont block well, they dont tackle well, they dont run the ball well, and they sure as heck cant throw the ball. They have run atleast 3 different offenses this season (wing-t, the-I, and now the shot-gun) Somebody please tell Coach Bobby Wells to pick an offense and stick with it. And in my personal opinion when you average losing about 90 yards per game because your center snaps the ball over your quarterbacks head about 5 times a game, I believe I would ditch the Shot-gun.
But the fact is Friday night is going to come down to coaching. And Siegel is just flat out better coached. Now I believe when Blackman is healthy they are a better team on paper, but the game isnt played on paper. And the fact is Blackman will put better athletes out there friday night, but because Siegel is better fundamentally and better coached they will win the game. They block and tackle better and thats where the game is won.
Blackman should of won against LaVergne last Friday, but I guess Coach Wells watched "The Longest Yard" before the game and thought the fake field goal play they ran on the movie was great. News Flash....Your not in Hollywood anymore. You kick the field goal and give your kids a chance to win a game that they played their butt off in. I sure hope he doesnt watch "Friday Night Lights" or "Varsity Blues" tonight and decides he can run the quarteback throw back pass 3 or 4 times Friday.
Well I have said what I needed to say. So I guess I will give a perdiction,
Siegel 35
Blackman 13
