  1. wasn't surprised Franklin got beat. good win to Ravenwood. The region tourney is starting and if Hillsboro doesn't have McMillan then count them out. I still havent been impressed with Franklin either.

McMillan is back, he was on a 2 game suspension for ejection.

    Franklin will never impress you.

  2. I am still here. That was the worst game Indy has played all year and credit is due to the Rebels. My question is why haven't the Rebels done this all year. Oh yeah because the Great Jay Johnson thinks it is good to change up lineups.

Indy has exceeded my expectations this year, after losing key players last year. Miller and Co. will continue to get better. The talent at Franklin is going down, the talent at Indy is on the rise. Let's go Eagles beat Hillsboro.

It was the worst game, due to the 1-3-1 the Rebels threw at you. Get a clue, the Rebels have played that way, at times. They did this in a back to back to back week beating Lavergne, Siegel, and Overton. Lineups were never changed, same 7-8 players playing the same amount of minutes.

Indy has exceeded your expectations? Go back and read your posts through this thread. On several occasions, you said Hillsboro and Indy were the top 2 teams. You kept saying Centennial would beat us next time we played. This was supposed to be a down year for Franklin, so now next year is too? Make up your mind dude. We will be average next year, but after that, we have a lot of talent coming. You are clueless with what is going on. Your predictions are never right, your insights are stupid.

Good luck to Indy and Hillsboro tonight in the championship. What? They are playing in the consolation? I thought you said they were clearly the best 2 teams. Well, good luck playing for 3rd place.

  3. Congrats to the Eagles, now go start a winning streak against the Rebels on Sat. night. It's postseason time, which means it is time for Jay Johnson to start choking.

Where are you IndyEagle? What I've noticed out of you, is that you say stupid things way too early, and then you disappear. Kind of like Indy's scoring in the second quarter. Hahahahahahahaha, Indy didn't score a point over a 12 minute span. Great defense Rebels!!!!

  4. Congrats to the Eagles, now go start a winning streak against the Rebels on Sat. night. It's postseason time, which means it is time for Jay Johnson to start choking.

Ok, I'm trying to stay off of this board, because of people like you. When "IndyIdiot" opens his ignorance hole, I just can't stay off. I haven't seen Jay miss layups, have turnovers, or miss free throws. In fact, the last time Jay had a chance to win a state championship, he did, no choke there. He was also on that state championship all tournament team. Way to choke Jay, you suck.

I think you must have been referring to him as a coach. Let's look at his post season tournament numbers, let's see if "he" has choked like you say he has. His "teams" overall record in district and region play is 20-11, not bad for a choker. His "teams" have played in the last 5 district championships, and 2 region championships. Yes, its disappointing his "team" did not make it to state, close, but no cigar. Show me a coach around here with that resume. The last 5 years, the team that knocked the Rebels out of the post season, went on to the state tournament. No matter what anybody says, he has done a great job with this group of Rebels. A group that only had 2 players that got any quality minutes last year. I guess that's why he was voted coach of the year, again, by his peers.

Now, let's take a VERY short time to go over Indy's post season resume. They have had a couple very good teams that finished second in the district, not bad. Oops, until they got knocked out 2 out of 3 years by the 7 seed, no choke there I guess. The ONLY year they made the regions they were knocked out by some chokers that attend classes on Hillsboro road. Outside of that, great job in the post season tournaments IndyIdiot.

We will just have to wait and see tomorrow night. See ya!!!! :popcorneater:

  5. Anyone know the tiebreakers because if Indy wins out and Franklin loses out they will be tied for 2nd in the district? Hillsboro has already clinched the # 1 seed and region berth. If Franklin beats Indy then they are # 2 but Indy still has an outside shot. Let's go Raptors beat the Rebels tonight so the Eagles can take care of business.

Rebels have clinched the 2 seed by way of a tiebreaker. I believed you picked Indy to finish 2nd ahead of the Rebels, nice pick. They could knock us off in the tournament, but for regular season, you were wrong.

  6. A few thoughts,

the top 2 in Ditsrict 11-AAA will get a first round buy and advance to Regions...FYI

It looks like Hillsboro and Franklin will finish as CO-CHAMPS, with the Boro getting the 1 seed in the tourney.

    Mt thoughts:

Hillsboro: rely on talent, not very coachable, very undisciplined, "Big Mac" atough matchup, with terrible attitude.

Franklin: Beat Siegal, Overton, and Lavergne,,,but then had some bad losses, seems they switch up defenses alot, saw them last night and their 4th qrtr D, the 1-3-1, caused R-Wood problems, I remember them upsetting M-Wood with that last year.

Indy: Play hard, just don't seem like basketball players

R-Wood: Tons of shooters, not big

Centennial: VERY ATHLETIC,,,,but can't get it together, coaching?????

B-WOOD: Well coached, need more athletes, rely on the 3

Metro, for once I agree with most of what you said. The comment about the D has been a little controversial in the Rebel "parent camp" this year. I believe the comment earlier by a fan (parent) was to "man up". The Rebels have showed that they can't man up. Not sure where the 1-3-1 went, but hopefully it is back. I think on 2, maybe 3 ocassions on the final play of our game the opposing team having the ball, we went man. It was like me out there guarding someone, that would not be a pretty sight. We lost those games on the final shot, all on layups on penetration. Last year the Rebels "committed" to that D for the last 13 games, they gave up on an average, 38 points a game. In the Region championship, they held Hunters Lane to 16 points. Only problem, we only scored 15 in that 1st half. This group plays that D better than the group did last year.

  7. Wrong on almost all counts here. Jay brought the 3 amigos through the program to the vartsity level. Several times here Jay has lost over 70% of his offense, this year he lost 96% of his offense to graduation. A team can have good players and not do well, example, Indy 3 years ago finishing 2nd and losing to a 7 seed. Centennial a few years ago having Kelly, McLemore, Harris. A team has to have a coach to steer the boat. I know who you are and just can't give Coach Johnson any credit. He NEVER takes a kid out of a game after he has hit 2 or 3 shots. MANY times that kid has asked to come out of the game because he is tired. You don't see that though.

    Give the man some credit

  8. Yipee, I'm out of school again today! and thanks for your concern about my sleeping habits but I'm more concerned about the team. People at school keep asking the same question; why did they change things up? The team was 9-0 and came out of nowhere to #5 in the midstate before the change in philosophy. Can anybody answer this question? Shout out for a 4 day weekend!

Losing those games has nothing to do with who starts the game. If you knew anything about basketball, it DOESN'T matter who starts the game. Big whoop, you get your name announced by the PA guy. It is who's on the floor at the end of the game. The 8 man rotation is basically playing the same number of minutes. FHS is losing games because they're playing with very little intensity and not running their offense, not who's starting.

If you knew anything about basketball then you would not make these statements. Of course it matters who starts the game, you want to get off to a good start. Name a coach at any level who doesn't start they're best players. Furthermore, you play your best line-up the majority of the game, that's not happening either. And minutes have changed alot for several players, didn't have a 8 man rotation until about the 7th or 8th game. The football players were still in football , they didn't start getting considerable minutes until the 7th or 8th game. You can make all the excuses you want to for the coaching staff but me and you both know whats going on and its wrong.

We are still waiting for you to tell us what "me and you both know whats going on and its wrong" Please tell oh genius one.

  9. No implosion at all with the team itself, just a couple overzealous parents who have their own agenda. This team is going to turn things around and be just fine. But IndyEagle, you are right in one way. A couple parents are using this board to try and start crap, this is something brand new to us. The FHS program has not had to deal with this type thing since Coach Johnson has been here. We have had some very strong, opinionated parents over the past 7 years. They probably disagreed with things Jay did, or how he coached. Guess what, they kept their mouths shut and let things play out. Coach Johnson has not changed how he coaches or his philosophies. This team is gonna be fine with whatever starting line up is out there or whatever defense COACH decides to play. The kids have to go out there and execute, play hard, and play as a TEAM. We shouldn't have to read about dads, or moms on a discussion board trying to be a coach. I think there are several rec league coaching positions available. Just go to WCPR and apply.

  10. You can't be a fan and a parent, tell that to Hillsboroboy411. I never said the 1-3-1 was a bad defense and I thank you for pointing out when it worked when it was used properly. I was at all of those games. I am curious to who you might be. I will say, I am a parent and I am not complaining about playing time. I accept where my son's abilities lie, what I do not accept is the lack of confidence my son is getting from his coach. He knows he will not get in a varsity game until the 30 30 rule. He cheers his teammates. And he listens to what he is told to do. My concern is (and I have heard for many years from other players and parents) that the Coach does not do the simple things to make a player feel confident in the player's abilities. Do you think Bruce Pearl looked at the players sitting the end of the bench last Sunday and said "you'll get in on the 30 30 rule!" Tennessee (in which I am only a fan because Bruce Pearl is a family friend) won that game because he gave them the spirit and energy to go play the game to the best of their ability. I understand Jay Johnson is a winning coach, I have watched him for several years. He does get the job done.... but every year, players change.... COACHES can also add to their coaching style by finding what motivates the new kid. My child does not need basketball, he is a successful student and a true Christian. He loves the REBELS more than you, I know that because he practices 2 hours a day and stays up half the night to get homework done... He hurts when they lose, because he expects perfection. We are half way through the regular season, I have no doubt these 17 young men will find a way to get back on the winning side.

My reason for posting was to motivate a few fans in seeing a different side and lighting a fire under a few.

I know it worked because I hear you dropped by practice yesterday to voice your opinion. Thanks. :D It might have been the motivation the team needed.
Coach Webb will be fine without me because he knows what it takes to BELIEVE!

YOU didn't light a fire under me, I'm at practice almost everyday. Why don't you find out what was said before you open your ignorance hole. All I said basically was, it doesn't matter what D COach Johnson wants to play. We need to go out and play it with intensity and passion. I'm sure your "family friend" Bruce believes in that. And good job Einstein, everybody knows who I am by my login name. I don't need to hide behind a ridiculous name like you've put on here. You know who I am, come see me. "MAN UP", as you put it. Don't run and hide now that you've started this.

  11. Ok, I will probably echo some of what Coach Harrick said. You have got to be kidding. You have to be a parent of one of the athletes who are on the bench and not getting playing time. The comment of untapped talent on the bench? Are you nuts? You are not a concerned fan of Franklin basketball, Or you would not be disrespecting Coach Johnson. Coach Johnson's 6 years of being a head coach speaks for it self. 6 years of 20+ win seasons, 2 of those seasons 30 wins, and 5 District Coach of the Year. And you, a whinny parent spouting off about a defense because your kid is probably not playing.

The 1-3-1 defense is not the problem, its execution of that defense is the problem. We used this defense last year in our last 12 games leading to tournament play, holding teams in the low 40's. This defense has man principles and makes team work to get baskets. This is the same D that we went 9-0 with and beat some very good teams. So find something else to whine about, or how about just cheer for the kids and support the program. You clearly have no clue about coaching basketball, or running a successful program. Oh, wait. UNC is getting beat by 20 points tonight, and this is going to be their 5th lose. Coach Williams is such a bad coach. He needs to teach these kids the 1-3-1 and teach his kids that defense wins games, although they did win the National Championship giving up over 75 points a game.

How about we just wait and see what happens the rest of the year. We are 11-5 and have a long way t go. It looks like you as a parent have given up on our coach, bad move. We will be there in the end and whatever defense coach decides to play, our guys will fix things and get back on track. Coach Webb is probably going to be moving on to a head coaching job, heard he will be looking for a D coordinator, how about you apply for it since you know so much about basketball defenses.

    Go Rebels

  12. Yipee, I'm out of school again today! and thanks for your concern about my sleeping habits but I'm more concerned about the team. I don't think anybody can answer your question and I don't understand it either. Why would you change a lineup that was winning. My five starters would be:

    G- McLemore

    G- Pace

    G- Llittle

    F- Nelson

    F- Mathews

But it really doesn't matter what I say because I am not the coach, but I do think something needs to be changed so the Rebels can get back to their winning ways. Can't wait to see how Franklin does tonight at Centennial.

Again, they didn't change the lineup, just the starters, and that was because Little (and it is Little, not Llittle) was sick and wasn't even there for those 2 games. That is why the line up was initially changed. Get the facts right dude As usual, you say crap without even know what the heck is going on.

  13. Yipee, I'm out of school again today! and thanks for your concern about my sleeping habits but I'm more concerned about the team. 14. Still keeping an eye on Franklin at 9-0, beating Overton, Siegal, and Lavergne...

    Saw some interesting upcoming games..

Friday @ the Mt Juliet Bear Classic at 2 we have Franklin vs Father Ryan..

Saturday..........BIG MATCHUP State contender Cleveland vs Franklin (both unbeaten) at 1:00....

Who are these kids from Franklin.....like I said earlier, they graduated like theirtop 8 players last year....

    Props to their coach

Yep, there are two big games this weekend. You boys need to focus on one game at a time and go out there and do what you enjoy doing. Don't get a big head.

Who are these kids, you ask. They are boys who have waited and waited for their time out on the court. Even though Coach Johnson is a good coach, I don't think he or his coaching has much to do with the record this year.

You are crazy. These kids have waited for there turn. Coach Johnson is a great coach and he is a big reason for the success so far. You need someone to steer the boat.

  15. I went to another Metro Nashville vs Williamson Co Game...

I did think Overton had the squad this year, but Franklin is for real! Franklin beat Overton 72-68

They keep producing players,,,Franklins PG Mclemore had 40 pts by my count...

Either that coach is very good or they have a ton of good players in that area, it seems like they win 25 games and the district every year?

I was thinking with that last class that graduated that they would struggle?

It was actually 74-68. Debrell had 38, not 40. Go figure, Metro Ball Boy having incorrect stats. A familiar thing for him. As for the coach and players, the coach has been the best coach around the last 6 years, and the players have all waited for this opportunity. They have sat back and listened to everyone tell them they were gonna have a sub par year. That FHS lost 96.6% of there scoring, on and on and on.

    Its gonna be fun!!!

  16. I'm gonna go with Brentwood & Maplewood. Both games are going to be tough

    Franklin over Maplewood

    Brentwood over Hunters Lane

Congrats to Coach McKee and the Overton players. They were a tough out the second half of the season and could play with anybody. Watch out for them in the next couple years.

  17. I guess Dr. Campbell and Coach Jones are not settling for mediocracy. They did what they thought they had to do. Even though i disagreed with some things he did during the game, I don't think the administration made the right decision.

I will say this, Dr. Campbell is a great man, and an even better administrator. We don't know the whole situation. All we see is the win/loss record and how he has fallen short in the post season tournaments. Let's give Dr. Campbell the benefit of the doubt.

Dr. Campbell will develop an unbelievable athletic program at Indy. I hate to say that since I am a Rebel backer. It was not coincidence that over the past 5 years FHS has probably been the school with the best overall athletic department. I know, some of you know it alls are going to get on here and bash me, but just check the facts.

Indy fans, he knows what he's doing. Just be patient.

  18. Please child, that doesn't change who the best person in the district is. And his name is Drew Kelly.

I didn't see Drew walk to center court tonight and get the award,I saw Michael Young. The award does not say "best player" award. We all know Drew is the best player. The coaches voted on the district player of the YEAR. They decided to give it to a player on the 1st place team, not the 5th place team..........CHILD

  19. You are an idiot, I go to IHS. There is no reason to think I don't. The reason I haven't said anything is that our season is done. We lost, we choked. Not much more to say, except I am a fan of whoever the Rebels are playing. Because Packman, I am a true fan, who hates our rival.

I see Brentwood winning tomorrow night. They are the better team with the better coach.

Hey little boy, you're not our rival. Brentwood is our rival. You're not a rival until you beat us at least one time in a season. Yeah King's a better coach. Until King can win 5 straight districts season champioships, and win 20+ games a year for 6 years, he is not the better coach.

Now brush your teeth and go to bed

  20. Who cares? What does the regular season mean? Yeah it would of been great if we won it, but the REAL season starts this week. Indy and Franklin basically have cupcakes in the 1st games. But Indy will beat Franklin the 3rd time around. It's tourney time which means Coach Johnson and the Rebels begin their annual choke job.

    Say what?

Time for you to go away little boy. Annual choke? Great job Indy!!!!!

Congrats to Coach McKee and Overton. Darren Henri outcoached again.
