Yeah BigPoppa, it was a tough weekend. Franklin will bounce back, Brentwood just wanted this a little more. FHS plays Hillsboro and Centennial this week

Well, you have part of it right and part of it wrong. King does a great job scouting opponents. Through the horrible shooting FHS had, they still about came back in this game. The part of Darren Henri prparing his players well is wrong. FHS had 2 main players out of that game and had 3 more sitting out in foul trouble. Indy should have been up by 15 at half, but was only up 4. Last year Peyton Henry didn't even start. When he came in, he came in at usually the point. Kegarise played the 2 and Miller-Mac played the 3. Everything is going to be fine. All this means is we are tied with Brentwood for first place and will need to beat them at their place on Feb 6 and take care of business they rest of the way. Everybody thinks because we lose a district game, things are going to fall apart and the world is coming to an end. Franklin does need to change a few things, and they will. I look for a totally different team in the weeks to come. Anybody who knows these kids will agree with me.

You are a complete idiot for writing this kind of post. Franklin is not overrated, they are not playing their best, but it will come. They just have to learn to play all four quarters to go anywhere. They scored 27 points in the 4th quarter against Brentwood. Indy has a hard time scoring 27 points in a half. What do you know about mental toughness? and there are no hardnose teams in this district, besides FHS. You are going to eat your words you make that drive up 31 and gets your butts beat by the Rebels. The only thing soft in this discussion is you and the rest of Independence. When we crush you next time don't be the little wimp you are and go hide.

Franklin FIRST plays at HILLwood on THURSDAY night. Teams lose when they overlook an opponent thinking about an upcoming "big" game. How about some students making the short drive to Bellevue Thursday night? Teams on all levels (high school, college, and pro) do play better when they have the crowd behind them. Franklin's crowd CAN be a good one when they want to be. They just need to do it for more than just Brentwood and Centennial. The game at Hillwood on Thursday counts the same as the one on Friday night! GO REBELS!!!

He is a great player for sure. he better get used to that double and triple team stuff because until someone else on his team steps up and scores he is going to have a lot of company around him in the lane.

Well, it is just kind of funny, that everytime Franklin loses a game you want to compare them to a over rated Darren Henri team. It is not even close to the weakest 3A district in the state. How can they remind you of that Indy team when you are admitting that we are going to sub-state, which I'm not sure why you even bring that up now, Indy didn't even make it out of the opening round of the districts.

Yeah, its December 20, Santa hasn't even come yet. Talk to us in late February, early March. Don't disappear on us when we get this this rolling. We want you to come on this board and eat your words.

I think it is going to be a great battle. Pope is really good. Hopefully we have more depth and options, but we shall see. Ought to be fun.

I agree Metro Ballin. I talked to a few of our players before the game and saw it in their eyes. They needed and were up for a challenge. Temple and their fans were very cocky and over confident. As we heard in the stands, "we will beat this team by 40, no problem". Temple has played a cupcake schedule up to this point. You Temple fans don't know this group of kids. We would beat this team everytime we play them. It is called being out coached and tired of hearing about teams with 1 or 2 players. A good team is going to have 6 or 7 good players.

Anybody who know anything about Jay Johnson, they know he plays zone as a last resort. I have been around FHS basketball for about 5 years and I don't think Jay has never played a matchup, or a box in one. It was called man to man, no help. Brice Drew, I like your post. Haddix came to play last night and #12 decided to get 3 stupid fouls in the first half which found him sitting out most of the game. Hey Temple coach. Got an idea. When one of your key players get 2 fouls in the 1st quarter, don't let him get his 3rd before half time. Temple fans won't give it to us that we are a good team and we had a great game plan last night. Franklin is going to continue to get better. We turned the ball over 22 times last night, so that has to get better.

I think their guard play is just fine. Henry 20, Young 17, Miller-Mac 6 points, 9 rebounds. Haddix had 19 points 7 rebounds.

Maybe 84-68 Franklin. Not a contest.

Yeah, I guess we need to bench Young, Henry, and Miller-Mac and start the jv guards. Let's not panic after 8 games.

I will say this group of Rebels have played against, and beaten a team Sexton played for. This Rebel team loves challenges and will be up for this game. Why did Skogen leave the school?

Crony< I have to agree and disgree with your post. Big Boy has been incredible this year. I think James has been given a chance in the past. James has really worked hard over the past 2 seasons, but especially during the past AAU season and the FHS summer camps. Like I have said before, his AAU coaches and his school coaches have worked hard on James's game physically and mentally. I told James a few weeks ago that it looks like it has finally clicked in and the sky is the limit now. I beleive James could be one of the top players in this district before this season is over.

Ok, hear we go. The Valpo girl strikes again with ignorance. I really like Kevin and I do miss him. That is not the problem. I will back up my words with actual numbers. Something you can't do (Forrest Howard scoring 3 points against Ravenwood.......please). Kevin only averaged 2.4 three pointers a game and he wasn't out best percentage 3 point shooter on the team, Michael was. Michael only had 12 less three pointers than Kevin. As usual, you have a real hard time reading and understanding what is being said. You left the word "basically" out of your quote. Just wait and see, these boys are going to rise to the test and come through. You're no Rebel fan so why don't you not claim to be one. Rebels< if you are reading Miss Drew's post step up and prove to him that you are something and with James playing this way this season it is just going to make us better with "basically" the same group as last year.

I got to agree with you. Something is not right at this point. Something just doesn't seem right yet. I don't know if missing Starnes and Glover up to this point, or if Coach Johnson is just trying to to find combinations. He is playing a lot of kids right now. It is really unusual to play 11 kids in the first half of a game. I think this will all change and Coach will probably settle in to an 8 man rotation or so. I think we will be fine and this team will be better than any team we have had for sometime now. But metro I do see the same thing you see right now. Haddix may be the big difference maker in the end. We basically have the same kids as last year with the addition of an unbelievable Haddix.

How could Forrest Howard have 3 points when he doesn't even suit up for the varsity? You are missing Debrell McLemore's 3 points though. Haddix only had 15.
