Satt told me yesterday that he hasn't even seen this years team scrimmage since a slop fest with Westy in the spring. Creasy doesn't need his help....especially this week!

Here's my prediction if trousdale is winning a close game with 7 minutes to go...let's see...first the clock will go out...(especially if Macon is driving late in the game to take the lead)..the game will stop, momentum will be lost. and TC will win another game with no clock on the field..and, we won't know if we have time for another play or not...OH...wait, I just had a flashback to a game with Smith County a year or so back.....but, it will happen again...

I'm glad we got a new coach, I'm glad we're running a system that testosterone filled highschool boys can understand. We've tried to run pro crap for years and with non pro athletes it hardly ever works....so, I'd like to wish our coach Good Luck. About Trousdale, every year at the first of the year they look horrible...and I think "I can't believe they beat our team"...I'm afraid this year will be the same. It takes Trousdale a few games to get going and by the end of the year they don't look like the same team...

Unfortunately we spent all our money on the stadium upgrade so we didn't have enough left over for a full 10 yards of chain. We have it in the budget to add a link each year until we get to 10 yards... /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

 

Butch, the announcer, is a good guy. He's a passionate, life-long Bobcat fan and he does have a tendency to let the refs know if they miss an obvious call. What's just as bad is the announcers that announce the play while it's in progress. Like, "he's coming around the right end". That goes on in our region.

I think it's a full 10 yards, it just need to be put down at the "front" of the ball....for both teams...

I can tell Butch is passionate, and I agree he keeps you informed, I even don't mind him getting excited when Greenbriar makes a great play but the little comments about the refs isn't good. I would be embarrassed if that went on in Macon County. I know the guy up there who does the announcing and I would tell him to stop it...just my small opinion...it probably doesn't matter to anyone else...but , I feel better now...

You know nothing about our program!!! For one - Clint is not running the show, two - naw we have not had 3 or 4 - 2 win seasons and neither has Macon, three - we do not have fans such as Macons that get on here bashing the coaches and saying that they teach the ends to stand flat footed and stupid stuff such as that (give me a break)! We have not always been on top of our game here. There used to be several rough years and we still supported and will continue to support Jim B, Clint, Creasy, etc. Never have we been as classless as Macon on these threads or in the stands. I never said they "teach" them to play that way. I asked "if" they did. And I still don't have an answer. (Someone did say that maybe they think they do it to get a read on the offense?) Maybe that's it. I do know that getting a read 4 yards off the ball is useless. All I know is that it is a "weak" spot in our defense. And I'm not meaning this to say anything bad about the player at that position. I've just never seen defensive ends played that way. I assume that while the game film is watced that other people would notice the same thing. It may not even be a defensive end. Many times we only have 3 down linemen and it's a linebacker that's walked up to cover the tightend. I've also noticed along with alot of other people that the oposing teams really exploit this in our defense. I'm no coach and I've never said I should be, so the way I look at it if I....(a low life coach bashing know nothing fan who hasn't played football in years....but who goes to most of the games and pays my money to support the program) notice this then I can't understand why it's not corrected. I "really" just want to know. Believe it or not I have alot of respect for "most" of our coaches. I'm even kin to one of them. Anybody who gives so much of their time for so little pay (as far as I know our coaches aren't subsidized by outside sources like some of the programs in the adjoining counties) should be commended. But, when things don't go right....why is it wrong to just ask questions???...that's one reason our "government" is in the shape it's in because we just accept things as they are..once again just my HUMBLE opinion....

Come on guys, this tread is for the game take the other stuff somewhere else. How is macon's offense this season i haven't seen them play, or heard a lot about them? i know they've had a couple big wins but i don't know a lot about them.

We average 6 points a game......

Look another thread for the macon county fans to get on and bash each other. Don't leave out the coaches and players to they need some more bashing. I tell ya i have always been a supporter of your program besides my beloved jackets your my second favorite team. I've got friends and family that attended MCHS and played football fot the tigers but i have to say what y'all have been doing on these boards this year is sickening!!! Everybody talks about RBS football being the laughing stock i say they need to look no further than Lafayette. What you've done this year on these boards is pathetic and you should all be black balled right out of Macon County. Just make sure you go north or west we don't need all that negativity down here. We love our program, respect our coaches and let them do there job. They should know who to play and where to play them. If you don't like what there doing don't broadcast it to the world talk about it amongst yourselves at mcdonalds or hardees not online. I'm sorry i know it's none of my business but durn i'm tired of hearing the same old crap on all MC threads even when you win. Good luck Friday night and good luck finding you a new coach when you lynch Cook on the town square. If everybody in Lafayette is so unhappy why don't you transfer some players up to RBS they could use the help. I'd love to see them get a win just not this friday night.

That's easy to say when Clint Satterfield is running the show. Let me ask you one question. if you don't like what's being said here then why don't you get off of this post and stay on the Trousdale post.(And believe me I hate all of the "i know who you are CRAP that's going on...and I REALLY don't know why they are STILL DOING IT....I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE AND MOST PEOPLE ON HERE DON'T EITHER!!!!!) WOW I've never heard an PA announcer correcting the refs, that just doesn't seem right. As a matter of fact if i were a ref, i might take offense to being corrected and throw more calls against them.

Oh my gosh....this game is OVER. The lights are off. Take the soap opera somewhere else. I keep coming back to read because I keep hoping someone is talking about the game...but this drama stuff is out of hand.

 

 

Thanks for the comments about the stadium! Sorry, but the majority would disagree with you our our PA Announcer! The refs DID miss calls. They just need to have somebody to bring it to their attention sometime..Kudos to Butch!

Yea...the refs did miss some calls and has alot of no calls too...(I assume by your comments you think they only missed the calls that should have went your way)..but it's not the announcers place to tell them about it over the p.a. system. I can't believe someone hasn't turned this into the tssaa. (not that I'm a big fan of them).. I honestly can't believe the head coach lets that go on...I was embarrassed for the Greenbriar fans....and tell the guys who run the chains that the marker goes at the front of the ball when greenbriar has the ball...the had alot of 1st and 9 & 1/2 yards to go...I was sitting at midfield the front of the ball was on the 41 yardline and the stick was touching the 40 yardline....go ahead say i'm whining....

guys. I for one don't care who any of you are and I wish you'd settle this either on here or somewhere else...

I was proud of the way our players didn't give up last night. It could have been a blow out but our players dug down deep and stayed in it......

I still DO NOT understand why our defensive ends don't line down and get up field!!!...I remember one play last night that we lined 5 people down and we stuffed Greenbriar in the backfield. The "technique" our ends, actually on most plays it's not a defensive end it's I think a linebacker that's walked up on the line...they get no penetration...and they catch the block coming from the tighend or the lead back....they hit us for numerous big plays on both sides over that spot..I know I'm not a coach but if there is one on here or if there is someone on here that can explain to me why we play defense this way i'd like to hear it.......you can't play defense on your side of the ball on every play....you have to get penetration and get in their backfield on some of the plays...

Also, I was impressed with Greenbriars new facility....however, you have the worst P.A. anouncer I've ever seen in ANY sport.....the pa anouncer should get excited if you team makes a good play but he should not tell the refs that they missed a call....that is classless!!!!!..and it happended more than once last night....

Go ahead and tell me i'm whining...I can take it!!

It's not a "new" way of doing it. I'm pretty sure they've never been taught to stand straight up, flat footed and get pushed all over the field. If you ask me it's just laziness and not wanting to fire off the ball.

I'd go along with that if they were lined down in a 3 or 4 point stance....they don't line down....they start the play standing straight up and never move toward the line of scrimmage...that's why I feel like that's what they are told to do??....

No I am definitely not that guy, he was annoying. He sounded completely fake, but he at least made an effort to try to encourage the kids. I do wish Macon County fans would yell and scream a little more, last year the whole crowd was into it. I think our kids feed off our emotions in the stands. That maybe why we are so flat this year. I have noticed the only time our crowd gets into it anymore is when there is a horrible call. Maybe the refs will do us a favor and make the first call completely off (hopefully if they do it will be the only one they get wrong) and get our crowd pumped up. That way our fans might yell and scream a little more and pump up our kids for the whole game. We need a complete game effort not just a quarter or a half.

 

 

And to NoDoubt we have the normal injuries as ever team gets throughout the season but that is not our biggest problem this year.

I haven't play football for many years and I have a question. And first of all this is not a slam on some kid that plays this positition because I see more than one kid doing the same thing. I've notice that our defensive ends stand straight up, flat footed, and "catch" the tightend or blocking back that is trying to block them. They don't even attempt to get any penetration. Sycamore ran NUMEROUS plays over our defensive ends. Is this method taught? The one play we had a defensive end get some penetration last Fri nite he recovered a fumble. This may be the "new" way to play defensive end but it seems to me that Sycamore really exploited this. Has anyone else noticed this or is there a coach on here that can explain this to me. Maybe it's certain defense or certain situation..but it's something I don't understand?.....anyone????

We all know who twinsleft is, he told us long ago who he is, but footballace doesn't have enough footballssss to tell us who he/she is. Just like all the other so called Macon County Fans who only want to fuss instead of encouraging the guys on (I do expect them to put forth their best, I always did). You are also listening to the fans to much footballass instead of watching the game, because I was the one who said the deal about the defense and they were playing weak (I was the one sitting a few sets over from twinsleft). If they played the first half like they played the second we would have won or at least it would have been a reasonable game. And if the players hear that, then they aren't consentrating on the game enough. They should be focusing on their job. I have never posted on here before but idiots like footballace and smack and many others who just want to fuss about this and that instead of supporting the team. I don't get it. Why don't they, behind the scenes, as they always do, (THESE POSTS), say man so and so needs some picking up, do you think you can pull that weight or at least say your gonna have to play a little harder tonight so and so is struggling, you need to pick them up. No, they want to blame someone. Blame thereself for not supporting our team, at least cheer. Don't just sit there and act like it's a funeral, encourage our players. I should have unveiled earlier in the season, but parents, or fans, or so called fans, no matter what you think, your words, negative or positive do have an influence on the kids. So, if you want them to succeed chose your words wisely. Support your kid, but teach them if someone is struggling, try to help them out. If they all work as a team and have a common goal they will succeed. I hope Macon County improves over the next few years and beyond, but until we get the true support needed I don;t know how successful it can be with the whinners we have here. GOOD LUCK MACON!!!! Please tell me you're not that guy that yell'd the ENTIRE 1st quarter last week.....anyway, that's not what I wanted to say.....I honestly think "something" was going on the 1st half of the game last week....don't know what and I don't think I want to know...buy, I LUV THE BLACK PANTS!!!!!!!.....I think we should get black jerseys to go with them...keep the blue helments and blue trim.....just my HUMBLE opinion...I know some of our fans don't like the black on our team but I really don't care....good luck in Greenbriar!!!!!!!

Macon County has charged for parking for years. $3....not an option. They ask for the money.

This is a public school. Bottom line is, it costs you $8 for a $5 game.

...they charge for parking in certain lots...i've gone to alot of games there and have NEVER paid to park...Central elementary is one block away and the parking there is freeeeeee......have to walk about 300 yards but it's worth it and I need the exercise anyway...lol

Macon Co. has some very good athletes on their team. I hope the player taken to the hospital is okay. J. Roarke? I think his ankle was hurt.

As far as the game goes, SC's Johnson led the Bison and looked like a QB ready for the playoffs. MC moved the ball well at times but had a long field all night long. It's hard for any team to go 80-90 yards on every drive. The punting for MC looked good until the rugby punt entered the picture. #10, Max Manion? looked like an all-region player to me. Glad to see some family up there last night and now look forward to a bye week. GO BISON!

I agree with your post....Max played a great game..I was suprised how little #85 helped station camp. What is he 6'5''...does anyone know how many passes he caught?...I don't remember SC throwing the ball up for grabs to him and I wondered why?. I exprected them to do that all night....then again..I could have just missed it..

Look man, I'd just love to see them put him in the backfield so the OTHER team won't have a clue as to which way the play is going when they hand him the ball!!!!. Plus, they won't "let" him catch a punt!!...He's totally wasted split out so far at the sidelines...the other teams have figured out that if you shade him on the inside shoulder then he can't get to that little slant and if he goes deep then it's hard for Grace to have enough time to get him the ball....there....i've never coached football at any level but I can pick up on that much!!!!!!....Also, I've said it NUMEROUSE times...give up on that play where he runs from one sideline to the other....seems like the other teams have figured that out!!!

I also hear thru the grapevine that he was "blamed" for the lose last week!!..he dropped one pass but the score was what 40 something to 6....I hope that's not the truth cause he's a great kid and he doesn't deserve that....

My hat goes off to him for remaining on the team...I think we did lose one starter this week....

There must be some confusion. This is a Macon and Station Camp thread. Macon seems to have enough problems just with their opinion of coaching without thinking ahead. Matthew Johnson and Company are too much for the Tigers. Period. But I've seen homecooking at MC before.

How could it have helped both programs? You guys could prove your the king of Macon County, or does Red Boiling get their first win in years? It would help both programs because I assume it would be a big gate. A good county rivalry would be great. It's a shame in basketball we don't play. If Lafayette could control the people in the student section under the goal then maybe we could play in basketball....
