  1. Another player to look out for next year will be Freshman QB (current middle school QB) Austin Morgan. Morgan is a big kid for his age (about 6ft at 13 years old) he's got an incredible arm that is an absolute cannon (much better then Austin Talent) and can move around the pocket pretty well. His only downfall would be A) He is a freshman and :popcorneater: he probably isnt as mobile as Talent is. Honestly though all year long Ive not been impressed with Talent and thought he's probably the worst Alcoa QB in the past 10 years, mainly from decision making. I doubt the coaches will but I give the Freshman QB a very strong look next year, it will certainly give us something we didnt have this year and thats a decent passing game.

YOu cant come on here and say stuff like that, come on. Be mature. Austin has worked hard all year long and your opinion like that is surely not needed.

Sorry but I dont sugar coat things. I tell stuff exactly like I see it I dont care if its Milan, Goodpasture, Maryville or my own Alcoa. The best thing to do is to prove me wrong on the field.

The best thing to do it first consider the feelings of the players, we get on here and read these things and you know , if i were Austin and i got on here and saw one of MY OWN FANS saying that i was the worst quarterbacks in the last 10 years then that would really really help my self esteem , lemme tell ya.

  3. I havent been on this thread yet simply because I decided i would go around the trash talk and let my class of 2010 boys show yall the work last night. Enough Said? Milan was the best team we played this year by far IMO. Congrats to the bulldogs for a great season i wish the seniors the best of luck in whatever they choose to do after high school. 6 In a row baby, I wouldnt have picked a better way to have it my senior year of highschool. Rankinated is signing out till soccer season....see yall later.

  4. Christian Coleman will play. He hasn't been blocked all season(not one on one) and I don't expect it to start this week. 6'4" 250 and can move. He is a difference maker for the team.

Milan has 4 of the best LB's in the state( including the best with Avery) and they will need to have a big game this week.. Alcoa will have a tough go wearing the Bulldogs down with only 2 players going both ways. They couldn't do it last year and held the ball 33 minutes.

If Milan can move the chains? Alcoa might just get beat at their own game. ;)

Yeah, we couldnt do it last year........we just kinda won the game off of chance

  5. Rankinated:

Thanks for the "student view" on things! You represent Alcoa well!

Tornadogold: thank you also! im glad someone appreciates what i have to say around here haha and you know me , im pretty "school spirited" so i have to voice my opinion regularly.......hope that didnt give away my secret identity :]

  6. I wil be the first to give the devil his due and Alcoa is the best team by far with that be said there is no way that a school with 513 students has 100 players that are that good without the ability to recruit and you all can say what you want but its crap and no one will beat you other than Maryville until that changes! And dont talk about class when you have a team down 27 with 4 min left and you go for it on forth down to score and pad your stats, and then your fans taught with there chants on a group of 20 some seniors knowing its there last game classless! Just a few questions I have

#1--- How many players pay tution?

#2---How many parents work together at the same place?

#3---How many players are originally from Alcoa?

But thanks for proving a point money can buy Championships! :roflol:

Now lets just see how honest you Alcoa fans can be!

And if your reply is im just a Cyclone fan whining about losing your wrong you all beat us like a drum and will continue to do so until you run out of money or Maryville takes your players or you go private!!!

First of i would like to say that maybe , and this is pushing the limits, that 20% of all students in alcoa are tuition students, and when you knock that down to just teh football team it becomes significantly lower. Second, How many of the players are originally from alcoa? If yiou go back the past 5 or 6 years, names like Randall Cobb, Kyrus Lanxter, Rae Sykes, Troy Hodge and so on stick out in our minds. All of which grew up in Alcoa and most in the Hall Community. Most of our star players have grown up in Alcoa and come all the way to the highschool via midget and middle school programs. So your point there then becomes pointless. I would also like to say that I love when a team boast about how good they are and how their defense is the best in the state and then once we beat them they automatically go to the tuition and recruiting arguement. Weve proved you wrong for years and will continue to, so find another scapegoat. You commented on state championships being able to be bought by money, i would hate to assume that you are taking away from the countless hours these boys put in every week to give this team success, , thats selfish and immature. GROW UP. Were sorry we beat your team , were sorry we scored 34 points on the best defense in the state. WERE SORRY. hope your 13-1 record is appealing to your senses because as long as we are around it will not surpass that. Thank you for your time.

#1--- I guess other teams dont practice and put in the hours!

#2--- You said maybe 20%,so you really dont know and would never let it be known if it were like 60%!

#3---I never said we had the best defense in the state!

#4--- We were 11-3 after last night, and have no excuses you beat us hands down!

#5--You have a great thing going and I wouldnt want to give it up either!

#6--Good Luck in state but you really dont need it!!

I apologize for the mess up on your record, it was not meant to bring your team or its accomplishments down in any way and yes i say "maybe" 20% becuase its prolly lower than that in reality, i can attest for that being as Im a senior this year and know the kids that are in the school. and i never said that other teams dont practice and put in the hours, i simply said you using the arguement about recruiting and paying our players takes away from all that becuase THAT is why we are good. We have one of the best coaching staffs in the state if not in the nation. Rankin has many sportsmanship awards and even a EA National Coach of the year award. That says alot about or coaches and staff. again ,thank you for your time. Good luck to your team next year.

  8. Hey, what happened to Rankinated? He completely disappeared this year from the boards. Is he still at Alcoa?

Im still here, Havent been on that much this year but Im still goin strong im a senior this year. But all I have to say about this friday is I think we got em scared volsknox, what you think?

  9. How is it the biggest rivalry in the state? In my book a rivalry should offer up some question as to who might win.

How is this the biggest rivalry? hmm 1200+ people every year, close games, genuine dislike for each other,"rich vs poor", county bragging rights, pride, the 2 best teams in the state, championships, and so on... just wondering, what do you think the biggest rivalry is???

try more like 8,000+ every year. im on your side with this. rivalries can seem one sided. this is def one of the greatest rivalrys in the state

  10. Poor poor alcoa fans, they never learn do they guys. Yeah you all have all the 'talent' in the world and a coach who is gonna finally outsmart GQ and break the streak thats been alive since 2001. wait a minute....wake up people its not gonna happen. These are the MARYVILLE REBELS we are talking about here, who happen to have the BEST COACH IN THE STATE. You will not win this game, it may be close, but destiny will prevail and the tornadoes will once again be downgraded to a light breeze on a forgettable night for alcoa fans. Sorry guys, but i speak the truth. Im giving maryville the at least 7+ point victory that awe are accustomed to. go get em Rebels, but good luck tornaders, you will need it

I think its funny you rebels always bring up[ the fact its never gonna happen, just like your win streak was never gonna end , and there was no way EVER that HIllsboro was gonna beat you. Well looks like the times have changed, i do realize you all had an impressive show at the jamboree against heritage and put a big 10 point whoopin on that stacked greenback squad. Look forward to this friday, good luck and hope everyone stays injury free.

  11. Third, it is an advertised fact that in 2008 31% of Alcoa's student make-up were tuition students.

Although 31% of the schools students were on tuition, only about 10% of that 30% participated in school sports or extracurricular activitites, therefore i find your point very invalid. Believe it or not parents send their kids here for a good education , not just gold rings.

  12. Last season they rotated two deep on lines and defense and three deep in the backfield.

Not the same as two platoon, but a lot of kids play a lot of downs. Especially early in the season because of the heat.

There were many different combinations at different times, more so on defense and the outcome was the same.

Not to mention when the young ones are in they are always going against the other teams ones. And still score.

That will be about the only difference I see for us in the new division. That our young kids may not be as successful against these bigger schools' first teams.

And Termite, All of the claims against the F5 are true, except we acually didn't invent football. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

    .......we didnt invent football?

  13. Lets all get our panties in a wad at the same time. Ive been with alcoa the past 4 years, thats close to 1400 miles ive drove to see thses games and who knows how much gas. Is it really worth complainig? If you were TSSAA you would want to save money to. I dont wanna sound like the devisl advocate cause im not , i just think some people are making too much of a big deal about this.

  14. If they are recruiting turn them in and then you won't have to worry about it. And instead of whining as you have done for years make your school an open enrollment school like Alcoa. They don't have problems with beating Goodpasture. Get better instead of handcuffing yourself and trying to take down others.

Yep.....All we do over here is Recruit the strongest and fastest and get rings. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> It really has nothing at all to do with the fact that we have a great coaching staff, and a Head coach that was once recieved EA's National Coach Of The Year award. Nah , none of the hard work , dedication and heart put into it has to do a darn thing. Just recruitin and taking names. Oh and just for those that are curious, here are a few of the memorable Alcoa players from the past few years who were born and raised in and around Alcoa , and most from the Hall Community:

    Randall Cobb

    Rae Sykes

    Dustin Lendsay

    Brandon Warren

    Chase James

Kyrus Lanxter ( moved to alcoa when he was young)

    Brian Sommers

    Troy Hodge

    and many more.

but yeah they rest are all those recruits we get from going around to all the local middleschools and passing out free "Rankin Candy" /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  15. glad you are representing us now rankinated, all the support from the students was great.

    Although I think your soccer tennis skills may need some work. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I love those boys and i gotta uspport my tornadoes. And yeah my skills are a lil rusty but i dont know who ever concinved u that big guys like us play soccer or tennis for that matter /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ive never seen a 6'0 275lb soccer play, but i migth be wrong haha

  16. Though if Berean continues to recruit the young middle school aged kids to come to their program they could be CAK in a couple of years.

I went to Berean through 6th grade and i now attend Alcoa High School. Berean starts there kids out young, its been a soccer school since i was there and they have had a consistent soccer team for the past 10 years, they just havent been noticed until they moved out of the Private school league

  17. Im very tempted in saying out 6'3 245lb TE Tyler Robinson will be one of the top recruits in the class for 2010 from TEnn , def East Tenneessee. He won Mr Football last year and ended the season with 17 Tds and phenomenal work on both sides of the ball. hes already recieved offers from Kentucky and Virginia Tech

  18. 08-22-2009 Austin-East at Morristown East

    08-22-2009 Fulton at Morristown West

    08-21-2009 Bearden at Walker Valley

    08-21-2009 Knoxville Webb

    08-21-2009 Dobyns-Bennett at Farragut

    08-21-2009 Powell at South Doyle

    08-21-2009 CAK at Grace Christian

08-21-2009 Knoxville Catholic at Rhea Co.

08-21-2009 William Blount at Sevier Co.

    08-21-2009 Clinton at Knoxville Halls

  19. If you go all-time, my pick would be Albert Davis from Alcoa in the mid 60's. I've been watching high school football practically every Friday during the season since 1959 and he's the best I've ever seen.

More recently, but probably still too far back for this discussion would be James 'Little Man' Stewart at Morristown West around 1990. He was a great player and was UT's leading career rusher when he graduated even though he played with two other pretty good backs there in Charlie Garner and Hayden.

    funny you say that.........i think we recruited him...... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  20. What Alcoa needs is someone that can be a mentor and leader both on the field and off the field which Rankin is neither of these. He shows nothing but disrespect for he is only worried about himself.

Coach Rankin is one of the classiet men ive ever had the honor of knowing in my life, and this is completely honest. he might be hard on us at times but hes a gret guy to talk to 1 on 1. Statements like this make me wonder if there are still sane people in this world, and im just curious, what year di u graduate from Goodpasture? 05? 06? 07? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  21. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Rankinated i haven't heard from you in a while...nice to see you again

it has been a while but now that schools out and summers a roarin i figured i would get on here and put a few coals on the fire for this upcoming season /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  22. I agree with you about Scotty Whitt as #1

#2 Travis Cozart from LC, I believe he was a RB, I just remember him running the ball and was flat out amazing. He was a lot like Whitt.

#3 Dante Hickey was immaculate. I remember that is the only RB I didn't want to hit when playing against him.

#4 Reggie "Tore me up in Intramurals" Cobb

    #5 Gerald Riggs

    #6 Rommel Hightower

    #7 Al Harris

#8 Mounts kid from AC (I remember him staying in motion every time and would run, pass, and receive. I think he also kicked and punted for them too.

    #9 Shawn Summers

#10 That kid from Farragut a couple of years ago. Saw him play and he was impressive.

These are all guys I have seen play in person so I am sure there are plenty more to add.

Farragut had a guy named Sterling that was pretty good a couple years ago
