  1. To finish up this thread, Lebanon beat Lincoln County and Siegel beat Coffee county in the Regionals tonight and then Siegel beat Lebanon 3-0 to take the Regional title. Now to the Substate, Lebanon travels to OOLetwah and Siegel hosts the runnerup of that region on October 18th at 7:00.

London Elie was MVP of the regional. The rest of the regional team was Icelyn Elie of Lebanon, Siegel had three, Kristen Cantrell, Morgan Faulkner and Lauran Stans and I did not pick up the rest of the players which were from Coffee and Lincoln County. If someone has the rest of the players, would you please post them.

I don't know about Lincoln County, but Courtney Page from Coffee County got it. Coffee County had an off night. We could not get a rhythm going for anything, our setter was getting called for a lot of double hits which ment our hitters couldn't do anything, or our setter was getting bad passes, and it just got worse from there. We are a better team than what was on the court Tuesday night. Theres always next year. Congrats to siegel for their win.

  2. Congrats to the Coffee County girls! They played really well! also a job well done to the lincoln county girls. go represent our district! i am aware of the two coaches that are also the basketball coaches, i was reffering to the other man that was on the bench there. is he new?

Thanks. The other young man you are referring to is Trey Adcock. He graduated last year and helps out our team occasionally when he is home from college.

Columbia played hard last night also. You had several girls get all district, congrats to them.

  3. Coffee County defeated Columbia in the semi's 3-1 (25-5,25-22,18-25,25-19) and then went on to beat Lincoln County in the finals 3-1 (25-23, 18-25,25-22,25-22). Coffee County had three All District (Courtney Page 2nd team, Olivia Thompson 2nd team and Jessica White 1st team). I know Lincoln County had a couple and one was player of the year for our district (sorry can't remember names). Congrats to both teams on a job well done. Both teams played hard. This was a BIG win for Coffee County, we are only a second year program. We are very proud of our girls. Good luck to all in the regions.

  4. Sorry but Andrew Taylor is not a nice guy! I hope for Coffee Counties Girls Volleyball program that he knows more about volleyball than he does basketball. This is just my opinion and I guess shame on me for voicing it here. BUT I COULDNT RESIST

    COFFEE COUNTY WINS THE DISTRICT!!!!!

Dan Scroggins is the head volleyball coach and also the girls head basketball coach, and yes he is a nice guy. Andrew Taylor is the assistant volleyball coach and the head boys basketball coach (he is a nice guy despite opinion). These two coaches started the team two years ago. Thanks to both of them for all their hard work.

  5. I am one of those loud and proud moms that yells for my child and for our team. I have not really seen any fans being particularly rude or obscene during games. We had one instance a couple of weeks ago where we were the visiting team and some of the home teams student body (a bunch of boys) painted our bus with profanity. That was carrying it a little too far in my book, but otherwise as long as there is no profanity or obscence gestures let them chant.

  6. I know my daughter is looking forward to getting the HS season over with and getting onto club ball. Unfortunately for us our school has only had volleyball for 2 years now and my daughter is a senior this year. We didn't know anything about club until the end of the club season this past year and got in just in time for the regionals. I was told by her club coach though that if you want to play at the next level club is the way to go because most college coaches won't come to watch a high school match, they come to watch club tournaments. Hopefully it will be a good experience for her because I know she wants to go on and play in college.

  7. Laura is also watching a lot of volleyball. Coach says it takes a year to learn their system. The young lady from Poland is a freshman but she isn't your normal freshman. She played on the junior national team or something. She is contributing big time. But she sure enjoys the perks of a big time program.

I have seen the girls at MTSU on several occasions. My daughter went to setter hitter camp there and those girls are awesome. I have been and watched them practice a few times, went to their inner league scrimmage and to a game and I absolutely love to watch them play. Coach Peck has a great program over there. Your right about Izabela, she is not your normal freshman. Good luck to your daughter and the rest of the MTSU team.

  8. You Coffee County people are soft when it comes to long drives. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> If you live in Lawrence County, all of the drives are long.

Email me and let me know your daughter's number.

/roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> True, so true, but I don't remember seeing to many people from Lawrence County on our sidelines when they came to Manchester.

  9. Tullahoma won 3-0. I will probably be there Thursday.

Unfortunatly that is one game I will not be able to get to. I'll have to hear about it afterwards from my daughter. Coffee County takes on Lincoln County on Tuesday and then Tullahoma on Thursday. I suspect both will be good games. Have fun.

  10. Unfortunately district 8AAA is one of the weaker volleyball districts in AAA. Until more girls commit to playing club ball, the level of competition will probably stay mediocre at best.

That is not fair to the girls that play in that district to call what they are doing mediocre. They get out there and play hard. Sure we may not be as strong as other districts, but we are getting there.

  11. Lincoln County looks to be the class of the district this season, and it looks like Columbia and Coffee County will be battling for the other spot in the regional tournament. Tullahoma has probably settled in at number four (though Franklin County has played them tough and could have something to say about that). Tullahoma has an extremely young squad that includes a majority of sophomores. Columbia doesn't quite have the size they've had on some past teams, but they are skilled and they know how to play. Coffee County is not your normal second-year program. They were very competitive last year in their first year as a volleyball squad, and they've improved a lot. It's great to see the Lady Raiders join the volleyball ranks. I would expect them to field a competitive squad every year. Good luck to all.

Do you know what the criteria is for a playoff for second between Coffee County and Columbia in regards to where it will be played?

  12. Welcome 15vballmom. I am glad to see you here. Our team played yours at the Smyrna tournament a few weeks back. Your team looked young but played really hard and with a lot of enthusiasm. Obviously, your coach is committed to bringing a team into good competition and hope you guys will continue to participate in the larger tournaments -- to be the best, you have to play the best.

What district are you in? Are you A-AA or AAA?

We are 8AAA. Actually we were down a couple of players so our game was off a bit in that tournament, but we are doing much better this year. Next year we will be hurting though we have six seniors on the team this year, but our second string is coming along nicely. I would love to see us play in more tournaments like Smyrna's. We just got through beating Tullahoma though, that felt good, they were district champs last year.

  13. Coffee County played them a couple of weeks ago, but we are also a young team with this being only our second year of having a volleyball team. They beat us by only a couple of points each game, so we were pretty evenly matched. Unfortunately we do not get a lot of attention down here, lots of good players in our district.
