Lets not get carried away. It was a great win no doubt, very uncarecteristic for Goodins teams the last 2 years. It is definitly a step in the right direction. Lets see if he can continue this trend. I dont think he lost just one game and everybody was getting upset. He lost 12-13 games then wins 1 and he has proven something "come on man"? Maybe the old Meigs might have a chance but I dont think this team will be able to pull that off.

you have to be careful throwing freshman kids out there playing against 18 year olds.Freshman need at least 1-2 more years to develope (most kids) physically.

You are right I dont know him. I just think Meigs will run their offense the whole night to try and get better for Polk co show down. I dont think he will run the score up on purpose but just trying to get ready for Polk. I could be wrong, wont be the first time....

Dont see it happening. I think the Sweetwater game is possible. Meigs wins 42-21. Meigs wont call off the dogs.

Good point. I think its a tricky balance. You dont want a win at all cost attitude but you dont want a coach that only drives community service. I dont want to give Goodin a free pass on wins and losses beacuse it comes with the job he knew that comming into it. 2 0-10 seasons would be considered failure in my book.

How are coaches measured? I think we know how they are measured in the PRO's and College. In most jobs if you fail you get fired, just they way it is in the real world. I think in coaching you should get 4 years to turn a program around.

From what I have heard Meigs is big and physical up front. Not good matchup for Central is it?

Thats very promising! Hopefully in a couple years this will get back on track and then keep the pipe line filled with talent. Its there you just have to look for it.

Bottom line is Coach Derrick is by far a better Coach than Coach Goodin. Central also made a grave mistake by not hiring Wilkerson who deserved the job over Goodin.

There are certain expectations with different jobs, if your a coach or politician you are going to be scrutinized. They only way to shut people up is to win. As long as you go 0-10 0-? the people will be bashing the coach. It just the way it is. Goodin and every coach knows that going in.

Not in the last 2 years. It is my opinion that kids don't want to play for him. Just my opinion. Also I go back to the fact that on a level playing field (ND) game which we should have won, he found a way to lose. I know that the talent isnt on the team to beat everybody on the schedule but he should win a few.

I see, take credit for good coaching when you win and blame losses on no talent. There are games (although they are only a few) that Central should win - like the ND game where the talent is equal and we still lose. You cant blame that on lack of talent.

Thats news to me but maybe the rules have changed in the last couple years. I know the previous (successful) coach was at the games scouting talent. Maybe coach g should become a deputy instead of coach.

But there are quite a few kids on the fence about playing football, has he talked to them and made sure they were going to play football at central? Sometimes the attention to the little things go along way.

Wow has this game fallen that bad? Back in the day we would have page after page of fans talkin smack but now its like crickets churping on here.....

I agree thats not saying alot but what I was trying to say was Central found a way to lose when they should have won at home. In saying that I have a hard time believing they will win at Polk in that hostile enviroment.

No wonder coach g is stressing lol. I sure wouldnt want that on my resume. Maybe we can scratch out a win Friday night. Polk Co would have to be at rock bottom for that to happen though. If we win Fri night Polk Co fans will be jumping off the bridge. I wonder who has more pressure Polk losing to us or coach g getting the losing streak.

on a side note does anyone know what the longest losing streak Central has had in football?
