  1. Maybe with his running ability and a good back field Boyd could run some variation of the option. The spread option play from the shotgun formation that Boyd ran last year should work better with a running QB.

The spread option will be very effective with a good running QB.

Hey if we can rush for 300-400 per game, we don't need to throw the ball. However, we do play Red Bank and S. Pitt so we need to mix it up. I think if the coaches really work with Crowe he can be effective throwing. I just wish he would be there for spring practice (baseball)

  2. Who will be the QB next year? Do you think it will be #9? He has good speed but did not fair well vs MC in throwing. I know he was thrown in at the last minute. How good is the freshman/sophomore Clayton Parker at QB, I know he has a strong arm. Also do you think that Reed will get many of reps behind Beasley.

    A. Crowe will be the starting QB. He will need to work on his passing but he will be fine. He probably will rush for 700 plus. Clayton does have a good arm but still a year away. Beasley will rush for 1500 plus as long as he stays healthy. Rock Hood and Reed will back him up. They will probably get alot of reps in the region games. With our backfield we will definitely be even more fo a rushing offense.

  3. We will miss Seth next year big time. Hey buchead, how do you think defensive tackle will turn out?

That is also 2 positions that will be hard to fill with Webster and Davis graduating. Will Hodge, Seth Roy, Devin Caldwell and Big Vinnie will probably be canidates. Maybe Meadows unless he increases his speed to play ILB. I think our defensive line will be good with these guys and Matthew Crowe and Jake Lockart back at DE's. Our defense will be very strong again in 09. Go Bucs!

  4. I think he broke his thumb during the summer. So him and Trey Johnson in the middle, Who do you think will play at defensive tackle? I was thinking meadows, devin, or hodge?

Meadows played ILB and DT. He did well at DE. Needs more speed to play effectively at ILB. Keasler played very well at ILB. He probably will play Outside LB to replace Compton. He has great speed and is very agreesive. The biggest holes to replace will be at both ILB positions. Hard to replace a 4 yr. starter and allstate ILB. Unger will hit the weight room hard this off season and even though he is not very experienced he will do fine in the middle. Just need to see who steps up at the other ILB position. Trey Johnson will have a shot but needs more speed and get more agreesive.

  6. I can understand that your butt is still sore but come on. Marion County's defense is much better than your giving them credit for....42 to 14...not..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I'm not sore. Marion won. however their great defense gave up 20 first downs, 415 total yards and still was lucky to win by one point. So go on up to Alcoa and get your butt kick, then yours will be sore. By the way, i am giving them credit. That is why Alcoa will only put up 42.

  7. If that happens there will be one reason. Marion played perfect, Alcoa played poorly and barely lost. 2A is Alcoas to lose, they play turnover free and execute to any degree and they win. You make Alcoa drive, force them to turnover the ball after lengthy drives and hold them to 3 and outs, well we haven't seen that yet but Alcoa could very well lose. I cannot forsee Alcoa losing this year in 2A. It will happen someday but not this Friday.

    [/q

I do not think Alcoa will turn the ball over 6 times this Friday. We did and Marion won 7-6.

    Alcoa 42 Marion 14

  8. I must say I'm pretty surprised. They are not usually a dirty team. The chop blocks are pretty usual for a wing-t team. They have always done that. Their head coach is a good guy. There must be more to the story.

I've said it all year. If you stop Wix...you stop them. They are not fast as others have stated. I am a little surprised their defense didn't show...but they were susceptible to the pass.

Chop Blocks yes, but not a high-low block. They high-lowed are D-line 3 or 4 times.

  9. Oh, crap. We dont have a chance. Please dont hurt one of us. Lets just put it this away. The average starting guard Westmoreland usually puts out on the field is around 150. Soaking wet on top of that. They really like to make them sound bigger in the program guides. Does the mercy rule apply in Chatanooga or do the rules change in different time zones?

I see what you eagle fans are doing. You have a very good team. Don't play opposum. You have some big kids too but maybe not enough skill players. 74 is a man and 34 is a load at fullback. This will be a close game.

  10. It's high school football, Any team can win dont start counting us a easy win. You just might lose. Not to say you guys have a good team, we can beat you if we play hard for 4 qt. I think this will be a lot closer than you think.

What has SCHS have to beat the Bucs? A running game? Our D throttled down SP (as SP Coach Grider put it).

The Bucs will make a statement next friday in the valley.

  11. this is off topic but is boyd's stadium nice or for those that traveled to cak please compare it to cak's thanks

    very nice

i didnt see emery play at the scrimmage, numbers 57 and 33 were playing middle linebacker for boyd, nic looked great and so did cole webster and jake lockert on the d-line

    he will be there friday

  12. The kind of player that Emery is, im sure he doesnt like people getting on here and tooting his horn. Its going to be a team effort on both parts but govolsknox is right. Emery vs Kolinsky is going to be a treat for sure. If memory serves me right, I believe Emery wears 30.

Not tooting his horn. Just answered a question.

  13. 41-14 CAK

You meant 41-14 Boyd, right? So CAK's offense is that much better than last year? Boyd's defense is much stronger this year and only gave up 14 to CAK last year. And by the way,Boyd does have a very good offense this year. Should be a great game!

  14. Boyd has pretty much the same team you saw up at CAK last year.

QB has recovered from knee injury, and hopfully will lead the Bucs this year. Defense will be tough with Emery back.

    Can't wait for Week 0.

Come on Reaction, What's your predition on this opening game? CAK is ranked 9th in 2A Preseason. Bucs are not even honorable mention. Are you going to be at the Swamp that night?
