  1. Heavy Guys.........

Yes, Frazier (171) should be added. He felt poorly last year @ state. He is

going to leave it all on the mat!

189 is a toss up. Mr. Patton is capable of making it into

the finals. Again the brackets come into play.

I also believe that Pegram (215) will give his all.

(If he can make it in the big show to the finals) He already has

the mental edge on Quick. He may go all the way. I have not

seen Quick wrestle. I have seen Pegram, and he does know

how to score points. If he does not count ceiling tiles, he may

    surprise us all.

HWT.....I think there will be upsets. If Oakland is healthy, he could

beat anyone! I may be wrong, but I think there may be two + unranked

    names in the final 6??

When the brackets are posted, it will be easier to determine who

    will advance.

HSDAD i have something to tell you saturday regarding our summer trips over to lebanon... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  2. yes...yes...yes...kyle frazer will no doubt be in the mix...he lost by one to mustain...i just forgot about him because his name was not on the list from matman's rankins and bray's rankins that i looked at...so i forgot about him...matter of fact...i would love to see fraizer place high at the state and he can...go get'em kyle

Thanks for the props guys. I will definetly leave it all out there and try to show those rankings up..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  3. I always considered myself a straight shooter on Coach and in life. I will stop some of the guessing.

One is Turner at 135 undefeated in the region.

I didn't post anything last year when we lost a senior that had a chance to win state because he wasn't my grappler.

This is the second year that the Commandos have lost a Senior Wrestler because of Marijuana. In my 12 years of being around HS wrestling this is the 3rd young man that I have seen blow away their hard work and the possibilities of success.

    Please............pay attention young grapplers!

YOU ARE NOT SMARTER THAN THE SYSTEM!

This event has affected my family to the core! My son who had won state in Future Champions, AAU and the Freshmen State Championship for USA Wrestling has let down his team, family, school and his self for a few minutes of a cheap high.

The memories of doing your best and doing it the right way and playing within the rules are a Natural High that last a life time.

To this day I am still close to the men that I wrestled with in High School.

Wrestling is a sport of the mind and sprit. Using drugs cheats you and your team.

Having your mother cry and physically sick and your family disgraced is not worth the few min of a high.

I did some of the same stupid things in High School that others do now but never during Football or Wrestling season. I always figured I needed every advantage that I could get. That meant being in the best shape and not using drugs.

Parents I missed it. I know what the drug smells I've been through training to spot it and still missed it. /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />

rigger I applaud you for being so straight forward... my question is does hendersonville perform random drug testing on students because the wrestler that got caught last year was phenomenal and so is your son.... I hate to see student athletes toss their hard work out and I hope that the one good thing that comes of this situation is it deters future athletes from making the same mistakes.... im truly sorry for the hendersonville team your family and everyone else involved... I hope you don't take this post the wrong way because im not trying at all to be vesecious or sarcastic at all

  4. Rod Wilks-The UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

    Sonny Gray-Vanderbilt

    Josh Day-Carson-Newman Eagles

    Tyler Montgomery-Fitchburg State Falcons

Jonah Hendricks-Undecided... wherever he goes he will definetly be a steal and a great addition.

More that could possibly sign for other sports, sign after wednesday, or are still undecided.

    Congrats to the very deserving guys receiving scholarships. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  5. You are correct about becoming healthy and mentally prepared. There are alot of boys who have

been sick or injured. These kids probably need some work if they missed last week. Keeping focused on wrestling @ the end of the season seems difficult for some. I guess I should have said "focus hard" on wrestling instead of "wrestle hard". We don't want them to be exhausted before Saturday, just prepared.

Just hate to see boys do well in the beg. of the season just to fall behind @ the end because they think they are prepared. I have witnessed matches that were one sided early on become a toss up @ the end of the season. We had quite a few boys who won the region last year go one and out @ state. Even ranked wrestlers!

    you got that one right....

  6. Next year Reg. 8 should be tougher to win. Feeder programs

are starting to grow and the freshman are more prepared. There are

some very young teams this year that could make it difficult to

go undefeated. Let's finish well and place some boys @ state!

I am still hoping for 5 from Region 8. Assuming that the top

boys from our region stay healthy!

What 5 are you talking about?

  7. Well, when did I not admit the better team won, uh again didn't happen? Wow "Your an idiot", thats fairly constructive, but at the same token I wasn't the one wearing green Mardi Grass beads Saturday night. I think it is fairly funny how when I criticize the way Baylor's upper weights wrestle, you think I am attacking their character, when again....I haven't and probaly never will because I do not know them, but obvilously you can judge people before you meet them, because I am "an idot". Your getting all bent up and out of shape over nothing, I guess you are so bored you have to create problems to deal with, again I guess I don't know for sure, but I sort of envy you because I don't have that luxary.

I think BCB can judge people's character over the internet.. That's a skill right there.

  8. I was at the Sharpshooter tournament saturday and I thought the tournament was really run well. Everyone around me seemed pleased with the days results. I saw some new faces referreing but most seemed pretty knowledgable and concerned about their jobs working hard to check for pins and locking hands and such. There were a couple of younger guys working but it seemed more so with the younger tots and midgets.

Most of the problems I witnessed were behind the scenes. In the coaches meetings there were alot of changes to brackets then what was sent in that made for a longer lag time between divisions. I know Mr Kennedy expressed that there were no changes with his kids and the problems were with all the other teams entered and that was the reason for the longer waits. And the hospitality room was a little less than be desired but it was adequate enough.

All and all it was a really good day and I would bring my kids back anytime. I believe Coach Kennedy seems to care and is a class act. The refs showed up and did a good job and they definately earned their paychecks that day. See you at the mats!!!

it wasn't even about the paycheck... I was a ref this weekend and that's the reason bill used us. yes im a senior in high school but I had one incident in two days and a lot of compliments.... I believe that as a high school senior I can ref about as good as half the tssa refs I have ever seen book test or no test.... if you are involved in wrestling and love it you can ref.... the other refs did good too and the wrestling was great

  9. I agree, this week's practice is very important.

Hopefully, the boys will be able to wrestle hard

this week to prepare for the regionals!

I think last weeks practice is more important for preparing you physically for regions than this week..... this week is about getting healthy and mentally preparing for regions and the 5 day break after that. if your not physically there yet this one week and going to get u there

  10. i don't know the details of this...

but what i do know is there was a process that aau has refs go through and they went through it...part of the process was that a couple of tssaa refs came in and taught the guys how to ref...trainned them on a saturday...and all of the guys who went through the trainning have been around the sport and wrestled for years themselves

we have saved alot of money for our kid and middle school program and the guys have done a GREAT job...no major complaints as i know of...no more than what everyone does with tssaa refs...which is normal to wrestling in general

bottom line is...nashville cathloic would not wrestle us because of this...they at least could have given the new refs a chance and if they did not like it...then could have chosen not to wrestle us again...in the spirit of beliving the best...maybe it is in their school by laws that they can only wrestle with tssaa refs...but i THINK they are a club team and could have chosen to do so

these aau refs were worked at our middle school conference championships with teams like clarksville, hendersonville, tullahoma, etc at our conference championships and it went really well

i have reffed four middle school and elementary school tournaments. I will be there saturday so I could proably help explain the "aau certified"

  11. The 'talent' IS there, at least it was good enough to BEAT the 'doggies' yet AGAIN! It just goes to prove the power of prayer is real as EVERYONE at Smyrna was praying for WC so they would not have to face R'dale a second time agian last year.

    I got your 'decline'! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

While Dave played and gave it his all, he was NOT the entire team. The TEAM of all 100+ is what beat y'all so consistantly. Get to the big dance 6 years in a row and we will talk.

I for one am glad the 'rumor' is apparently false.

Win two and a row and then reply back. You seem to know alot about football but what you don't understand is losing is not always a bad thing. Going undefeated or beating everybody shouldn't be your number one goal. Losing helps teams and we learned that last year and this year but what was the final outcome? Two state championships

  12. Riverdale history since 04

    2004- State Championship

    2005- State Semifinals LOSE

    2006- Third Round by everybodys favorite the bulldogs /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> LOSE

2007- Complete meltdown second round against wilson central LOSE

But the point is even though the recent history shows riverdale is declining not all of that is on coach a. The talent is just plain not as good since dave thomas graduated.

  13. LOD does it honestly matter if you have 60 players or a hundred? Eleven play at a time not all hundred bodies can be out there. At Smyrna we were blessed with tremendous depth the past two years but if a team is good they're good whether it's 60 or a hundred jerseys

  16. a gift certificate at the chop house would do just fine...i know he has the cash to make it happen... /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

    it was a barn buner ...A BLAZING barn burner (pun intended /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> )

Tullahoma was incredible tough...fired up and did a great job...no team should have had to lose that match tonight...so my hats are off the wildcats for being a part of the greatest match in the short history of Blackman High School...Go and take care of business against region 7...

    150 blackman fans...100 plus Wildcat fans...close matches...pins...overtimes...chanting...screaming...rocky music...the blaze mascot...the enviroment was electric

PROUD does not begin to describe how all of us felt of our boys...only 1 seniors and 6 starting freshmen AND YOU GAVE UP NO PINS...WOW... you have started something GREAT...the future is certainly bright

a big thanks to bill kennedy for what he has done across the street with the sharpshooters...you are FEEDING the program well
