Hey doorbell, I believe FCS domiance in district 8A is over. Gordonsville only has two seniors and is loaded with talent at the sophmore level. Courtney pitched a great game and got some help from her teammates. The blind hog is seeing FCS in the rear view mirror.

Dont go to shining that district trophy just yet a lot of ball to be played.And of course this is a real young FCS team also.And i believe coach powell will have a few tricks to unleash when it gets to be district playoff time. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I like the way this turned out.But have to admit i will miss some of the games.But i think most coaches will keep those rivaly games .Like ours i hope we keep the greenbrier and macon county games .Both of those were great games last year and the kids got pumped up so i hope we keep them if possible. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

FCS beat CA 3-2. All five runs in the game were unearned. Hunter Holland pitched the first five innings and Brooke Klinefelter came in for relief. The pitchers gave up NO EARNED RUNS, no walks, and two hits, and that is awesome for having no experience. FCS played really well and we gave up two unearned runs on an error with two outs. I have to say that we didn't hit the ball as well as we can, but it is still early... and as always, an ugly win is better than a pretty loss...

The pitchers did a good job.But its like i said early there is some young talent on this team that are going to surprise people this year.Great jobs girls keep up the good work.And with getting more game time they are just going to get better. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I believe it will be close . But what i worry about is which fcs team shows up. I just want to congratulate the girls from Gordonsville on a great season!! They were fun to watch and were a special group of seniors!! My prayers are with Courtney and her family, she showed alot of toughness being out there 2nite and playing hard like always!! It is always sad when the season ends but they have nothing to hang their heads about!

I agree with you . They played a heck of a game last night ,and with what courtney was going through she just played with the heart of a champion.Be proud of what yall did this year.Congrats and our prayers are with you, from your friends at fcs.

Superfish we played as bad as i have seen us play this year . But that does change the fact we lost end of story.I dont understand it but that is what happened.Your not going to beat someone that is good by just scoring 36 points.Well there is always next year.

Well... it was Pickett County kicking can and by plenty! They were up by 20 at one point and the officials were completely one sided. That #50 just about knocked down one of our players at half court...no call, that happened over and over, no calls from the refs. At the end Friendship was grabbing Pickett players by the uniform right in front of the refs and it was ignored. Pickett could have won by 30 or more. 7A is far superior to 8A #1 Friendship would have been 5th or 6th in our district. Pickett Co. was UNBEATEN in Tennessee outside of 7A and 7AA, our other powerhouse district. That shows just how much better 7A is. My favorite part was Friendship fans chanting "she's a freshman" about an average freshman player...then one of our great freshmen, Green, showed them what talent really is. Pickett will be loaded for years to come.

Granted PC won the game .They have improved since the start of the season. But as far as the officials they craped up the whole game .It didnt change things but it would have been a better game to watch had they called something .I was afraid someone was going to get hurton either side. Those three ref should go back to 5th and 6th grade games where they got them.But congrats to PC they were the better team. All we can do is wait on next year.Oh and one more thing i will be at watertown and be there to see the rest of the finals.Good luck to Gordonsville. Certainly not to dis my friends from Pickett County, but FCS1984, bobcatfan300 was making the only comparison he has at his disposal, his team unfortunately did not make the Region tourney this year. He is just wondering how strong FCS is and if they will beat Monterey since they struggled against Pickett this year?

Point taken but i think alot of people think this FCS team is lucky and that is all.But this is the best whole team to come from FCS in a while.Because they play as a team. Yes they have won some close games but you have to win those .And yes they havent played good against clay ,they played ok but not our kind of ball.But when the rematch comes and it will .We will be ready and may the best team win . FCS will take care of Pickett Co tonite. I just don't see them beating a team 3 times in one season. And there will be more than the two girls (pickett co) that were mentioned earlier on the court......You will get a dose of the Vaughn/Warmath show with alittle taste of Burroughs/Morrsiett and then better guard our 3 pt specialist Hay/Lancaster.......and our eager defense quickness of Allison.....come prepared and better stop and eat something on that LONG DRIVE to POSSUMTOWN.

I hate to disagree with you but from what i have seen out of TC. So here ya go: IF Gordonsville wins Friday night its not going to be by Clay County giving up double digit 3-pointers. They will have to win the inside game and I don't think they can match up with Amelia Kirk. Huh....I guess that means they don't win and can join the rest of 8A on the "diamond" come Monday.

The problem with clay county winning is that its not going to happen.If you had seen coach agee after the lost in the 8a finals .There is no telling the practices those girls have been threw . They will be fired up and ready to play GVILLE wins by9.Now to the PC VS FCS this is going to be a war a physical game and when all said and done FCS wins 5. Here's my theory and I'm sticking with it.

 

FCS game AWAY at Pickett means the FCS girls are IN SCHOOL all day and have to endure the 2 hour ride to Pickett. Lost but close game.

 

Pickett came to FCS on a SATURDAY (no school for either set of girls) and FCS lost but a very close game.

 

This Friday Pickett will be IN SCHOOL and then endure the 2 hour ride to FCS.

 

I'm hoping the Pickett is tired and doesn't play well. Go FCS!

It was a very good game to end the tournament on i must say...gordonsville girls bounced after bein down that much which says alot about them...but now its on to clay and pickett..i believe both of them 8a teams could beat either one of them and maybe even jackson or clarkrange on a given night it just depends on how the ball is bouncin for ya that night! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Pickett Co. played close with Friendship both at home and away. It was just 18-17, Friendship, at the half at Friendship. A technical on Pickett helped Friendship pull away. I didn't see them play anyone else, but wonder how strong they can be since they struggled against the weakest Pickett Co. team since the 1970's.

Its funny you mention teams of the past. Glory days of the past will not win games now. And its all about now not the past .Come bring the a game and may the best team win .Any team can be beat no matter how good you are but we are all still playing be happy for that and may the best team win. I think that is close but it depends on which TC team shows up. They are a better team then the record shows they just arent clicking together. But in the end I think it comes down to FCS VS CLAY COUNTY. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I think you got part of it right .First clarkrange destroys tc this gets ugly fast. Then Jackson county has to much firepower for westmoreland. Now comes the fun Gordonsville lights up clay county wins by 8. And then FCS beats PC in a close one by 3. Let's see our #4 seed has beaten ur #1 seed twice this year. I don't like 8As chances of returning to Watertown. Oh and devil u can't tell me that TC's girls have any chance at Crange. If Rogers wanted to he could beat them by 100! He won't but he could and u know it! JC will win by 25. Clay will win by 10 and Pickett will win by 7.

First i give you the clarkrange vs tc game will be ugly quick. And JC will probably beat westmoreland. But dont think for one minute that the other games will go 7a way.
