  1. They'll never score 35 /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I know that everyone has this hatred for David Lipscomb but you have got to give them their due respect because all they do is win year in and year out. This year was the year to get them if anyone was to do so but they are still DL regardless of what anyone wants to believe.

    David Lipscomb: 42

    Marshall Co.: 7

The Tigers are a team that can be run on too if I recall correctly. Giles Co. pounded the football down their throats two weeks ago. Last week the Tigers stepped up their play and won at JSS against a running team but now they have to do it again vs a team that is much better than South Side.

I want to be the first to say congrats to the Marshall County Tigers on A GREAT SEASON!!!! Coach Thomas has gotten the most out of those kids down there and they've bounced back from the last two years. Marshall Co. Football is BACK ON THE MAP!!!!!

Region 5-3A as a whole is now IMO the best region in Class 3A!!!!! Look at these numbers since these regions were formed prior to the 2005 season.

Region 1: Carter is the lone playoff team to win a postseason game

Region 2: Livingston Academy, Fulton, Catholic, AE, & Anderson have all 5 won playoff games

Region 3: Notre Dame is the lone team to win a playoff game

Region 4: Sycamore, Pearl Cohn, Station Camp, Greenbrier, & White House have all 5 won playoff games

Region 5: David Lipscomb, Cheatham Co., Giles Co., Creek Wood, Spring Hill, & Marshall Co. have all 6 won playoff games

Region 6: Jackson South Side, Fayette Ware, Bolivar Central, & Lexington have all 4 won playoff games

Region 7: Dyer Co., Crockett Co., Dyersburg, Haywood, & Covington have all 5 won playoff games

Region 8: Sheffield & Mitchell have both won playoff games

FOR A SINGLE REGION TO HAVE 6 TEAMS WIN PLAYOFF GAMES IN 3 YEARS IS PRETTY AMAZING!!!! IT IS EVEN MORE AMAZING WHEN THAT REGION IS PLAYING THE MOST COMPETITIVE REGION OPPOSITE OF THEM IN THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS (Regions 5 vs 6).

Region 2 will always whipe away Region 1

Region 4 will always whipe away Region 3

Region 7 for the most part will always own Region 8

Next year I also really like Region 5 to have a seventh team win a playoff game as well because Page is going to be pretty darn good if they improve on the way that they finished out the season.

You knw whats funny lol yesterday in hightowers press conference he said his numner one goal was to put MC back on the map and i think he as well as the tiger football team has done just that this year

  2. Hightower must be a beast that night and Cavella must be able to contribute.....and the Tigers must play error-free ball.

DL must suffer a meltdown like they did against Goodpasture late in the game.

If these things happen......MC can win.....otherwise DL moves onto the next round.

I agree bulldog..You seen it last week O'neals first game back the defense was alot more comortable knowing that he was there he had two forced fumbles i think....and Hightower still isnt 100% he's maybe about 80% but i agree if these two players arent at there best MC has no chance also GIVE HIGHTOWER THE BALL...also Joe Gentry senior ILB well have to play hard as well

  3. I am on the road -- gotta love your verizon wireless card /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Bump to the top /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Yeah that Hightower boy is one heck of a player....and Joe Gentry With the game sealing defliction

  4. I'm unaware that #1 is hurt. #12 has been out since the first of Oct. #3 has mri tomorrow on knee which was injured in DL game. #62 has been out for two weeks looks to be back for Giles game and #4 should be back by the playoffs. Not sure what injury for talking about for #2. The bad thing is all these guys are Seniors.

Yeah that caught my eye too...that all the injured players were seniors...but yes Gentry,Hightower, and Walker played the DL game and all 3 are defensive captians...but Hightower had a ankle injury in the spring hill game on the sideline i think. But hopefully he can get back because if he's not back in time thats a hug chunk out of the marshall county team

  5. The Giles County Bobcats travel to hostile territory in Lewisburg to throw down with Marshall County. Both teams will be playing for homefield advantage and a number 2 seed behind Lipscomb. GC comes off a big win against Creekwood and MC comes off a loss to David Lipscomb. Who wins this dog fight and why?

I think marshall county wins...and why it'll be the first time in 9 years that marshall has beat giels at home...and the fact that that got a spankin at lipscomb thrives them to show the state that they arent pretenders....GIVE THE BALL TO BRADEN AND BLOCK

  6. Lipscomb wins it 49-13 and it really wasn't that close. Marshall County has to be disappointed with their performance tonight. I know they are a better team than they showed in this game. Turnovers and costly holding penalties were definitely a factor. They will be on a mission next Friday against Giles County.

Yeah and the fact that they had 4 turnovers in the first half killed them as well. You just cant do that against any david lipscomb team.Russ Moneypenny,Jeremy Holt, and Zach Rogers didnt help the poor performance marshall county put up either. But key injurys for giles county to look at is Cavalla O'neal(Injured),Dakota Binkley(Injured),Trevor Walker(Injured),Joe Gentry(Injured),...Dont'a Hightower was injured at the end of the spring hill game but played during the lipscomb game and that didnt seem to help him at all...he was limping the whole game

  7. I think Dont'a Hightower at Marshall County would be a great choice for the 3a lineman according to the Tennessean he has 100 tackles, 5 interceptions, and has scored 13 or 14 touchdowns. I also think what hurts some of these players aroung the state is that they play a lineman position on one side of the ball and a back position on the other so some people don't know where to vote for them.

I agree with you sampwt!i would've figured that hightower would've been one of the first few nominees but what bout cheteam countys big tackle in John Henry the big guy can really move
