Please don't tell you are basing the number 1 seed off of the Coach T strength of schedule. Public Service Announcement.... The Coach T strength of schedule is Based on wins and losses only. It does not measure the level of competition. Dyer County has a good team but not number 1. Southwind and Ridgeway are the best in AAA period.They are ranked 11th and 12th nationally for a reason.

I don't know who will win the AA state crown, but I will say that it's an 8 team race and not 3. Every team that's there, deserves to be there. Regardless what me or any other fan thinks or has to say. Fans get on here and talk so much about their teams and don't know very much or anything at all about the other teams. I'm a Marshall County fan and will not talk stuff because regardless how much I talk, I'm not the one that'll be lacing up my shoes come next week. When it's all said and done, everybody that has their team winning, will be the same ones on here talking about how somebody had an off game, the court was too slippery, the refs made bad calls,etc. Every team that's in it, has a chance to win it. Good luck to everyone, especially Marshall County. Go Tigers!!!!

 

First of all I don't make excuses for winning, so I will not make excuses for losing....Having said all that....I also don't take these post "PERSONAL" because they are based solely on opinion.....Now let's look at the facts....Middle and East TN football is stronger, period. Middle TN girls basketball is stronger, period. West TN mens basketball is stronger period. There are projections in all sports, that's part of the game. The last six AA state champions have come from two districts resulting in three champions, Bolivar, Liberty and Fulton. The biggest difference that I see, is scheduling and competition...by the time Liberty and Bolivar make it to the Boro, they have been battled tested....Liberty had a brutal schedule this year and they always play up, does that guarntee a win, absolutely not. I do not and will not demean any kid on these post, I strictly talk about teams, unless there is an outstanding player, Despite what has been said. I stand by what I say and life is bigger than CoachT. At the end of the day I am a basketball fan and I know the game very well.......My daughter graduated from Liberty in 2009 and I have always been a Liberty fan. At the end of the day we all want our paticular team to win.. I like Whitestation, Liberty, Melrose and Humboldt, and I believe three of the four will be champions. I will not take these post "PERSONAL" because that will allow someone else to make my day and that will never happen. If my teams lose, oh well! I will continue to live.

What was off based about the JJ vs DC comment? What about bringing his a game was off based? He scored 19pts. You don't have to score a boat load of pts to bring your a game. ex: assist to turnover ratio goes into that as well...The game between DC & WS was an overall good game in my opinion. haaaahaaaa!!!! I KNOW u don't have to score lot of points to have good game....am VERY aware of that Icy....was not JJ vs. DC was WS as a whole vs DC. This was terrific game imo also.....was $7 well spent...I LIKE watching Memphis teams play. I dont get to travel to see these teams play as I would like because have little one in school.. I like to see talent...don't care where you are from or what school you go to...I am not biased at all when it comes to good teams and talent...

Hollins kid is really good...he is just solid was VERY impressed with him

Yea he is a pretty good player...Sometimes he will disappear and just go through the motions..but he can shoot the 3 and he has had some of the best dunks I've seen this year..I'm hoping that he can improve his ball handling by next year and he will be alright..

Let me first say that we all know that Memphis has dominate teams every year and a Memphis team brings home a gold ball every year. That being said sometimes you have to watch what you hope for. There was a poster on here about a month ago [ I'm not going to say his name he knows who he is ] that made the statement that the only reason Bolivar makes it to the Boro is because they don't have to go thru Memphis. Well the tssaa in there bid to end west TN. dominace decided to send BOLIVAR thru Memphis. The more things change the more they stay the same because Bolivar is still going to the BORO. Infact Liberty and Bolivar eraced Memphis from AA. So once again be careful of what you hope for, Trezevant and B.T. Washington ordered pussycats and pilgrims but they got Tigers and Creusaders.

The officiating has been terrible this year, it was also terrible at last years state tournament. I saw the Mcneese guy from TSSAA at the tournament last year....I believe he is the supervisor over the officiating and I told him what I thought and He made excuses. I am tired of the same excuse, and the excuse is this......officiating is a tough job.....we all have tough jobs sometimes, but that's no excuse to be poor at it. There are consequences for doing a poor job in the real world e.g. you get fired. I understand there are mistakes, but the mistakes I have seen this year are inexcusable, e.g. travel without the ball, calling fouls on the wrong player, not paying attention 1n1 free throw situation. In my opinion there is only two ways this happens 1.) The official doesn't know the game 2.) The official is being biased or cheating and there is no room for either. Am I the only one seeing this? We want the players to have sportmanship and integrity, but we don't hold the officials to the same standards.

Good posts yankee and Trader.....I for one can say I think playing UP for DC is the way to go.....Yankees knows me VERY well and he knows I for one KNOW what AAA in Memphis is like......a meat grinder...hahaha!!! Some very good programs in Memphis.....I don't think WS or JJ is overraated....AT ALL .

And folks i just live 20 min down the road..I call it like i see it. .The only call that went Whitestations way is the Joe Jackson foul..That wasnt a foul in the first place..DC had te shoot 40 throws thats why their arms were getting tired..Whitestation beat 9 2nite people and thats a fact..5 players..3 refs and the roaring 2000 plus fans..The refs put DC back n the game..End of story..What about the falling out of bounds time out DC got..Rules clearly state U CANT DO THAT! Now i see why DC aint lost n that gym since 2007..PITIFUL!

LOL! Hey copenoc, Its puff puff PASS.... If you pass it, you won't make completely stupid statements like you made. The Commercial Appeal (A MEMPHIS PAPER) stated a couple of things that I thought was interesting.... DC lost by 5 correct. Joe Jackson hit 5 free-throws over the last 50.6 seconds. There was a foul on Joe Jackson that the refs called on #11 Harry Green who wasn't in the game at the time of the foul then at 2 minutes left Joe Jackson picks up his "4th Foul"... Think about this for a second.. Joe hit 5 free-throws down the stretch, but he actually fouled out with over 2 minutes to go... that means DC is still tied with White Station and this game isn't over. Then Coach Pateno after the game said the refs meant to call the foul on Nino Johnson well that would have put him out of the game, also. Another example of the protection of the best player in the state! It was a great game to say the least. Congratulations to White Station.. Good luck in the 'Boro... Great Season Choctaws... get ready for next season. I want to see a lot of Memphis schools on our schedule next year that would be fun, and/or any of the Memphis tournaments.

By the way the foul ratio was 23 to 29......,,,as someone put DC shot 40.

Tooooooooo bad the foul wasn't called correctly at end of game......I have given this team props and praised them....sounds to me like you have problem that a school from a town of 3000 people came dang close to beating an illustrious 3 A Memphis team and you did NOT expect that....AFTER our fiasco at BTW last year I NEVER want to hear anything about refs from anyone..... Seems to me WS shot some free throws themselves considering they only hit 3 field goals ....points didn't come from God.. Dyer county altered Joe Jackson's game...plain and simple and that DOES NOT take away from what a tremendous player he is......heck even a Memphis fan said his game was altered by us.......good luck at state WS....you have a great team

That was one heck of a game last night. I couldn't believe how packed it was in there. When DC started getting after it late in the second half, that crowd played as big a factor as anything. They really have great support going on over there right now. Congrats on a good season, and you guys should be very proud of how your team battled with white station last night. Not many thought they would! And yes, I was once a doubter of your posts myself I must admit, but over time you have proved me wrong. You do have a pretty good knowledge of the game! Good luck next year!

It was a good game.....I said to good friend on here this could be blowout by 20 or more OR will will keep it within 10 pts.....we did the latter and was very happy about that!!! And by the way really appreciate you saying what you did Some fans may be upset about zone but I have hard time arguing with McCords decision ...after all he has won over 120 games in last 4 yrs.......

From reading all these posts,i get the feeling that DC is going to state.LOL.IDK how Mcord is a better coach than Pateno,were Pateno led Haywood Co to state tournaments and now has led WS to 3 straight state tournament appearances including a championship.DC doesnt play the schedule WS has,Milton Ga,Sagemont,Fla,St.Patrick,NJ,Warren Co,Ky,Bellaire,Tx to name a few and still manages to get wins against some of these top teams.DC toughest team they played was Bolivar.Mcord needs to stop playing in the Martin Xmas tournament and play in a bigger and better tournament.But congrats to WS and to DC on a good season.

Being a long time DC fan I think Beavo hit the nail. We played zone way to long giving wide open shots to Hollis. DC is not a zone team. I believe once we changed to man WS only had 3 FG in the second half!! The guys gave great effort and heart after getting down by 20 due to the zone. We also did not get the ball to Big Ced enough in the 4th. He could not be guarded in the post. DC fans will be surprised how much we will miss Big Ced next year. We will have no inside game unless someone steps up this summer. The foul issue on Jackson was a big factor in the final minutes. Nothing can be done other than having the team of refs deciplined for a major correctable mistake. WS is very good and depending on the draw they could make it to the title game. Great season for DC moving up to AAA. Great fan support for DC. TSSAA lost a lot of money with the DC loss.
