  1. Carmicheal didnt run at AP, and he didnt run the 800 at Great 8. Maybe you got him confused with his team mate Matt Scarola (sp). Matt is a great runner who has broken 2 once. Matt raced both the races where you thought you saw GC.

oh well that would exsplain it then. I was told that was gc at the govs classic and i know i saw the kid at that ran the govs classic run in the great eight so i just assumed it was him.

  2. Thats a fair point, but considering that 3rd and 4th place are going to state with a 2:01.9x and a 2:03.xx I would think they could have atleast qualified 1, possibly 2. and still qualified the 4x400. It then would have been their decision at state whether they wanted to bail on the 800 and make a run for the 4x400. However, I do respect them not wasting qualifying spots if their main goal is the 4x400, and clearly they have a great shot at winning.

We were given the option of running (along with the 4x8 and 4x4) either the open 800 or open 400. Our anchor leg ran the great eight and finished with a 201 (even though he got boxed bad and had a bad race) and there he realized no matter what he ran mahaney would still probably pull out just enough to beat him, and it could cost him and our 4x4 a good time and possible state win. One of our other legs choose to run the open 400 but scratched himself at region because he also felt it would not be possible for him to run his best in the 4x4. The rest of us instantly choose to go with what would be our best chance at the strongest finish in state. And 4x4 is gonna be so crazy, its up in the air and its anybody's race i don't think its even possible to pick a favorite because anyone could be a little off or a little on by less than a second and it changes the whole out look of the race

  3. Someone please explain to me how Station Camp can run an 8:10 solo 4x800, which is an average of 2:02.5 per person, and yet only have one person in the open 800, and that person only runs a 2:04.xx. It seems to me that Station camp should have had a solid showing in the open 800. Just curious.

well we only let our third leg and 3200 runner run the open eight because our other three legs of the four by eight, also are three legs of the four by four which also qualified for state with a 3:29 so we had to pick our races to count in rest for both relays, we decided to go team first us last. that would be why

and why is cak times so down this year, from what i rem. they only lost one leg last year from state

  4. I think between USJC,CAK, and Station Camp, the 4x8 should be very fast and interesting this year. I expect the top three times this year to be in the 8:12 to 8:05 range possibly lower. Which is definitely the fastest on average its been for A-AA in the past 20 years. Are there any other teams out there that anyone knows of that have a legitimate chance at running sub 8:13 in A-AA?

  5. East

    4x8 boys

    1. Station Camp - 8:20

    2. MLK

    3. David Lipscomb *at large*

    4. Macon County *at large*

uh dude station camps 4x8 already went 8:17 at subsectionals with no comp

  6. Great 8 was missing out on most of the strongest 800m runners in middle TN, considering that the top 3 seeds scratched, and some other strong runners didn't even submit times to the meet.

the number three seed scratched the number one and two ran. i don't know where you got your imfo from. bill mathews may have not been there along with a mat sonnedtfeild and may be one or two others but it gives you pretty good idea of how things shake out.

  7. When did mahaney beat carmichael in the 800?

He beat him at the governors classic at austinpeay. And as i predicted he beat him in the eight, and so did the kid from mt.juliet, and if I correctly remember so did one other runner. Also It was disappointing to see jake rainey have to drop. Unofficial word was that he was down with some sort of sickness. The mile would have been crazy between him and mahaney. And congrats to music in the two mile. He beasted running a 4:57 first mile and the running a negative split by ten with a follow up mile of 4:47. Kids beast. The hurdle times in the 300 all seemed sort of slow(for the times posted), but word was 4 of the top 5 were running banged up. the 100 was Cunningham all the way. And what was up with that crazy fast girl in the 100 hurdles.

  8. Rainey will take the mile but he will be pushed by mahaney the whole way. In the 800 I actually predict mahaney to win. He has the slower time but has only ran against sub 200 competition once this year, where he beat garret Carmichael the number one seed. It will be a very close race to watch. And the two mile i believe is an obvious choice without mahaney in it, and that would be jeff musnick

  9. Sooooooooooooo

looks like the great 8 is going to be extremely competitive starting in the 800 and going up

idk about anything shorter than that

maybe the fastest year in a while

Yes I will have to agree, by just looking at the comp from the austin peay meet you know great eight is going to be fierce this year. (even though i fluked in that race /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ) And the mile times are quite impressive easily the best Ive seen in my career on average.

P.S. who saw the epic dual in the mile between mahaney and rainey? It was pretty beast

  10. its losing. not loosing.

way to lose even more respect. dang.

gotta take out that hooked on phonics, bruh!

    This coming from a man/boy (probably boy) who said bruh.......... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

And yes it is something everyone has to deal with. I don't let it bring me down only motivate me to strive harder and try to re-earn every meet the respect i have already earned the previous. But when does enough become enough. For example at our school each year footballs budget gets increased. This in and of its self is no problem and is a benefit for the school. However when the track team containing the only current state champions in the school is forced to run on a cement track that floods out to lane 5 when it rains gets no budget increase this becomes slightly ridiculous. This becomes even more frustrating when the track team is given $0 of budget already, and the only income it has for the very crucial things it is needs is brought in by the athletes, who already sacrifice much of their time and bodies. I mean respect we can do without, in fact in some cases its a bonus. But it would be nice to have decent running facilities to just practice on. Now this is by far not the same for some school maybe even many schools, but it is a good example of just how much track goes unoticed

  11. heck yea it is loosing respect. And honestly i believe being a multi-sport athletes having done everything from soccer, basketball, baseball, football, wrestling, cross country, and track in my highschool/middleschool years it is my conclusion that no one sacrifices their body more than the competitive serious track athlete. Which is why it utterly annoys me that track gets probably the second least respect right behind xc. even for example at our school our most succesful programs by far have been track an xc bringing both state titles every year. no other sprot has made it to the state championship but track and cross country in our school history, yet who do you think gets the budget increase each year and all the respect not us thats who.

  12. Do you idiots realize that the National High School record is 8:34?

I think you all accidentally typed an 8 instead of a 1 and 0.

No their correct, still cant believe they broke my national record! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

oh well next time i wont stop for that hotdog /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> on a diet anyways so that would probably help

  13. If they can make a big showing that will be a great story. I did a virtual meet with their district/subsectional (Not 100% but close) based off of last years performances and removing the seniors.

having run against most these teams already this year this is a nowhere close prediction

  14. Just so you know, monkey central, Dickens is a junior. "get YOUR facts straight"

But hey, maybe one day you'll be good at something, like sucking up to fellow competitors.

ooooooooh.....ok "white stink". i said " i think hes a senior". never said that he was, just said i thought. (it would help if you actually read the posts instead of runnin ya mouth) you're about as dumb as rocks. but it's ok. one day you will be able to "git r done!" you know what? Jesus still loves you even if YOU lose every meet! and we'll see where you're at when regions comes. and i'll know who you are by your shoes. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

you guys are both retarded, so just shut up and quit spamming the boards with your ignorant insults

  15. All three decisions are mistakes.

And Lee has too many hot girls--that is, Steven will be too distracted to run well.

lol thats never been a problem for me if anything the influx of hot girls has always motivated me more. Oh well im a show off and i have a feeling after much time spent with snyder over the past few years and a extenuating 3 day trip to nc for footlocker, it is my belief that snyder will be just fine there /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  16. You're still an idiot.

    agreed /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Nobody cares what you did last year at CAK.

and i was thinking that the whole time

  17. yea i have also heard this rumor.... anyone know if there is any truth behind this rumor about rogers???? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

also someone mentioned that cummings will not be running this year anyone know anything about that as well?

  18. Did anybody hear about that kid for CAK last year, he was a sr but it was his first year of track and he started out running a 2:18 in the 800, and by seasons end he was running a 2:01. His name was Kitts i think, but wow anybody know about those coaches at CAK? i think i want to run there.

i did the same my sophomore year, and it was my first year, first meet was 2:18, then dropped to 2:10 next meet and by the end of the year i finished with a 201 flat. not a huge ordeal especially for someone with a maturer body to do. just saying

  19. this mahaney kid also allegedly slept in the same bed with this one dude pszenitzki while heading to nc for footlocker, and also allegedly this one pszenitzki stole mahaney's running powers through osmosis /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
