  2. Well for the predictions we might as well predict who will come in 2nd place, because we all know who is the odds on favorite to win the 8,16,and 32. The 4x8's will be very interesting b/c FRA lost their whole relay and I don't know how much station camp and MLK lose from their relays. I for one will bet that the mile doesn't start out in 75 like it did last year. A/AA had more talent than it's had in years in the mile but everyone started out really slow, so the resulting times were bad. I still don't know why everyone started out so slow, (but it didn't really matter for me b/c my legs were still dead from the 32).

And Tallon, if you juice you should probably stop, b/c you might get drug tested like i did. But if your school doesn't have random drug tests then you can keep doing it. Just look on Tennessee runner at the picture of Micah Wasserman from MLK; I think that it's safe to say that their school doesn't have random drug tests

for station camps 4x8 relay squad all i can say is we kept three of our runners, though my team mates will get mad if i tell which leg we lost /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />. To say the least though 4x8 is shaping up to look like maybe one of the fastest years for all the treams that compete.Last years times on average im predicting will be at minimum 5 seconds slow compared to this years times, at least for the top five teams(or more) at state! Anyways that is my predictions. Zach Rogers from what i rem. did do four events at state, one was a relay 4x2 i believe and i know for a fact hes back he was a junior last year.

  3. The other team was Austin East, from Knoxville /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

    well close enough l /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

  4. Mitchell was the only memphis team that beat yall in 4x4

The other memphis team was Frayser, the team that got 5th right behind yall.

Oh i did not realize that i was misinformed. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" someone at the state meat told me that their were 3 teams from memphis and they were 2 of the 3 that beat us

  5. They've got Memphis schools come sectional time...

I run the 4x4. But you'll never see me.

that is true feel bad for you. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> two of the memphis teams and mlk beat us at state last year in the 4x4 but it was a super close race top 5 in under a second togther and top 4 all with in like .4

  6. I am heading over to run at footlocker. Anyone else going and what race are you getting into??

From Station Camp Me(John Pszenitzki),Charlie Jordan,Nick Gammon,Christian Upchurch, from beech high Steven Bretz, and miles ?(sorry miles). And i assume the whole macon varsity idk but thats who we are riding up with so far.

  7. Pszenitzki, or anyone else that may know

Which leg did Station Camp lose from their insane 4x8 team last year?

we lost our third leg Zach Parker who was the 2:06.78 (our slowest)

i propose a seniors only distance run at the warner parks sometime over the winter. thus we can talk about our college aspirations and possiblities in secret

AGREED, sounds like a good idea to me

  8. Congrats to mlk on their win, it was a tough run and they pulled it out. All i can say though on our behalf,................ Just wait till track. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

  9. Looks consistent this year to me. Even more so if the rumor about him taking a cheeseburger with a mile to go and wolfing it down before the finish is true.

    Hey look whos talking /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> What about that steak i saw you eating at the two mile the other day conig? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  10. I have a lot of trouble believing that Dyersburg will finish 5th...i can see putting them as low as 3rd. At Region they won with 22 points and had only two people mess them up from having a perfect score, and one of those guys was Mark Cole. I would love to see Dyersburg go in and show everyone from East and Middle TN that West TN is not as bad as they think.

    NO RESPECT!

Actually its not neccesarily lack of respect but more the lack of knowledge on them. They kinda just apeared out of the frame work.

  11. no they didn't.

If you want to run a PR, find another course.

But seriously, he makes a good point.

oh ok then maybe i was mistaken. Could of sworn they were there. And I have actually seen many people run pb's on the steeple, its no where near impossibal, in fact some people even prefer it (as ridiculous as that sounds) /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I think a lot of people stink on the second mile because they go out to fast first mile, which kills you for the second mile because you end up trying to recover on the easiest mile of the course. Then people hit the third mile, and they are out of it mentally. My solution to a good steeple race is run the first mile intelligently

I agree tottally. It seems to be a really bad habit for the front pack to really push the tempo of the first mile on the steeplechase, then slack the second mile. For example the tn. classic where top 5 were under 4:55 first mile and top ten to twelve all broke 5:00 the first mile. Really only one person was able to even slightly maintain this pace, even the great mahaney died quite abit from that first mile.Haveing said this ,the key is not your first mile time like i've said but your second. I have just recently discovered this personaly /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> and it seems to be working quite nicely. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  12. That's because people either haul it down that hill, and then let themselves lag once it flattens out, or they cruise down the hill and push on the flat. You gotta go hard-hard-hard the whole way in that second mile. From hauling A down that hill to hauling A on the lonely back flat. Then hold on for dear life in the third mile, but don't worry--everyone else is doing the same thing.

I tottally agree that its not your last mile or your first mile time that determines you overall time as much as it is that dreaded second mile. We just recently had a team meeting about not being afraid to bust the second mile and hold on for the last, most likely if you bust the second you will still have enough to hold on for the last. The second mile is key to running a PB.

  13. I prefer hauling A for all 5000 meters. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

    well yea that is the goal. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Too bad its a terribal strategY. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

in saying this I would still like to say that i rank 1. MLK and 2. station camp (above DL). i just wish people would present accurate statements.

I could be mistaken but didnt dl run the af bridges meet at steeple chase as well? That was one of the races i was talking about.

  14. ??? down boy.

dl hasn't raced macon county once this year and has only raced station camp once.

    ???

    ...

Let me rephrase yes that is correct that macon has not run in the same division of the same race but they have competed at the same races and their times leave no doubt that had they been in the same division as dl that day they would have won by a sizeable amount. And they have raced station twice and the third is the same case as mc

    ps i think eagelville will win state /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

tn runner is not a complete summary of season bests it only includes some meets, you can't make solid predictions just from tn runner seeing as how their meet coverage is incomplete plus you can have a team run a faster team average and still loose to a team with a lower average because it relies more on place than average time plus i have yet to see dl run these times period much less all run good times as a team at one meet as said macon county and station have had pretty solid wins over dl 3 of 3 times they have raced them, though their times do look really good im not sure where they all come from and in order to be second in my book they need to run with more consistancy as a team, dyersburg does look really good, but if what conig says is true it could be due to the coarse, still they look strong, mlk is def. at the front of the pack right now no debating that, and never count macon out with their two hammers and their third man running strong as well, usjc is running decent times but so far showeing no consistency but you cant count out the defending state champs, and station has run with moderate consistency, and seems to be strong as a pack team.Though they have not had all seven of their top runners run good times at the same race yet. Need less to say it will be a close and very exciting race. Good luck everyone

  16. 1. Martin Luther King -----85

    2. David Lipscomb --------101

    3. Dyersburg --------------118

    4. Station Camp -----------124

    5. USJC --------------------137

    6. Macon County ----------188

Thats anyone that matters or that has a chance really.

I will skew the current rankings based strictly on times run on any course this year and change them to fit the facts what I believe.

    1. MLK

When they run well, they dominate.

    2. Lipscomb

Looking to pick up the pieces if MLK struggles.

    3. Station Camp

Good results and head to head wins over MC.

    4. Macon County

Great front 2, the rest is picking up.

    5. Dyersburg

Sleeper team. Ranked #3 on time, but they recently ran a race down Mt. Everest, hence the fast times.

    6. USJC

Inconsistent, slightly bi polar... it will take these guys running well together. But just cause they're ranked #6 right now doesn't mean they don't have the cards to win.

how much reaserch did you actually do before posting this conig /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> If you look at times and or finishs there is no way you can put dl in second macon and station have beat them 3 of 3 times and have a better team average /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> who knows it could happen just saying if you go by history dl is more like the 6th place team

  17. based on steeple times the top five teams are

( not in order of place) some combination of macon county, mlk, usjc(even though they have no steeple times you have to include usjc because they are the defending state champs which almost the same line up as last year),lipscomb, station camp

there all so close, it will be a great race

  18. Cute indeed.

    ha thats crazy

who cares about invitational times, somebody hook me up with predictions based solely on steeple chase times ( at least for those who have ran it this year, sorry conig /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> )

  19. Does anyone know if Kathy has committed to a college or is leaning towards one? Who all has offered?

I'm not sure, but if i was her i would go with arkansas razor backs. For a girls team they look to be tops this year with top four already going under 18 and one that has a slightly faster average than kroegers, as for what she is thinking im not sure anyone knows that right now, but that is simply my suggestion.
