Only two TN players listed in 2010. There must be a better list somewhere. 4 commits from Collierville area I know are not listed for 2009 2 d1. Must be more.

Same coach...same field...new players.
New Coach and that will make all the difference.
-
Will is the best goalie in the state and their defense will be held together by john krc and the midfield around tyler doss if he can remain consistent...they will field some great athletes and this is great that theyre already basically being called the third best team in their own district next year...while collierville and white station may have more talent you can guarantee that coach wolff will get more out of his players then the collierville kids or white station kids...Houston will be back at the state tournament next year...CF dont back down from JA...
Collierville is loosing the coach everyone liked and keeping the one like Houston had in the past. Houston will go to state next year - not sure how far they will go because who knows, but Collierville is going to be shooting blanks. The local club for the boys is having a High Schools team next year that will be 91, 92, 93, 94 - Not even a d3 team so there is not much for Collierville to hope to get. Coach might even affect the girls team too.

A further thougt. Why does the Chattanooga paper have so much information about tssaa and soccer and C**pAppeal list things like Houston vs Riverdale as also in soccer the score is. I am truly disappointed. Either we need to get better people in Memphis or send the ones we have to Chattanooga.

The much anticipated TSSAA Board of Control meeting is next week, June 10-12.
Here is a link to the full list of things being discussed:
http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_129154.asp
While the whole issue of Private Schools in Division I, the multiplier, etc. could effect all sports including Girl's Soccer, there are several other specific proposals related to soccer. They include:
26. Proposals from Hendersonville High School and the Tennessee High School Soccer
Coaches Association
Hendersonville High School and the Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches Association
are requesting the Board to look at the following proposals:
A. All TSSAA tournament games be played on a soccer field 60 yards wide and 110
yards long beginning with the 2010-2011 school year.
B. Red card suspensions ??“ The current two-game red card suspensions should only
affect the following: fighting, taunting, unsportsmanlike to officials, and leaving
bench area.
The following should be a one-game suspension: tactical foul, intentional hand
ball, language (not directed to official or other players).
Rationale: Soccer has more opportunities for ejections than other sports. The
above criteria would separate the severity of the fouls and keep the game true to
the intent of the rules.
Whether to continue to use a multiplier for non-public schools in Division I
and, if used, determine the number to use as a multiplier.
What do you think?
On the soccer field size, it seems like a good goal, but I wonder how schools who barely support soccer could/would implement. As an interim step, they could require that all post-season game fields (District through State Tournament) meet this criteria. Schools that wanted to be able to host their district/region games would push to get into compliance.
Red Card -- There was a bunch of discussion on this last season. I 100% support the proposed change.
What are your thoughts?
The field size seems great. In Club state the 91's played on terrible small fields till the finals when the played on terrible acceptable size fields. - I understand why they have the tnsoccer cup in Nashville area but why there instead of Richard Siegel park I don't understand.
I would put foul language in the two game since how can you ask a ref to determine who it was aimed at but legitimate tactical fouls that result in a red like last defender back or intentional hand should be a 1 game like the rest of soccer.
I would like to see something like 2nd or 3rd red or 4th or 5th yellow - out for the season though. Some players make a intentional habit of fouling and after so many they should sit the season or career.
-
Don't think Houston will be one and done this year again. There is a new coach and the team will be better just because of that. They will not measure success by how good the field looks but by wins.

Three way tie on the A side of the bracket and it goes to the 3rd tie braker - ERSA won 2-0 and lost 2-0 Lobos lost 2-0 won 5-1 only three goals count so Lobos 1 ERSA 0.
Lobos vs Strikers for the state championship.
Should be a great game
-
Houston - 6
Oak - 1
Final
-
Houston - 2
Riverdale - 1
-
The Lobos appear to be getting hot at the right time. Are there any state league games remaining to be played and who is going to be the number one seed out of state pool play?
Lobos - 1
Impact - 2
Fury - 3
The schedule is posted at tnsoccer.org

has houston played a lot of good teams though, i know bearden (4-2) but they had a down year and collierville are really the only two besides CBHS which they lost but it was the first game of the season. any others that i am just missing
They beat Collierville twice, Clarksville, Bearden, Segal, Kingsbury twice, White Station and they tied Franklin. Had a tournament rained out that would have given they 3 good games. They beat alot of DII teams too but I know that is a hard comparison. Not a real hard schedule but with the exception of CBHS early in the season with a crowd of about 1500 and the CBHS band dominated all of them.
-
Only common game is Segal and both teams dominated but Segal is not a good yardstick this year. Houston has shutout more opponents this year and they haven't lost since the first game. I will go with the Senior heavy Houston team 2-0.
-
May 15
Lobos 5
Attack 0
-
Houston - 8
Jackson Central Mary - 0
-
collierville 3-1 kingsburry
Guess I was wrong. Thought Collierville would overlook Kingsbury and with the two players red carded going into the game for Collierville it should have been decided. Keep Kingsbury in your thoughts, they will be a power in the future. Houston will beat Collierville at home on Thursday.

any news on the white station collierville game?
Collierville 2 White Station 0 - Collierville picked up a soft red and a real red and really should have had at least one more. Looks like they will be playing Kingsbury at Kingsbury on Tuesday. Should be a great game.
-
Soc523 I checked out Kingsbury.....very impressive, I might have to eat crow with Collierville. Thanks for the heads up /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
They have two kids from Africa up front that are real fast and the rest of the field is made up of Latinos that have played coached organized soccer before and a coach that knows how to get the best from them. I don't see them winning state by any means but the balance might be changing in the west if they can build on this.
Should be and interesting State. I think there are 3 that can win it all - Brentwood, Farragut and Houston. Of course if the first round is 'brentwood vs houston or other options who knows. The Houston coach is new this year and none of the players are playing out of position and there are 14 seniors so that is my prediction without putting it in writing.
-
OK...Pseudo I'll bite. Maybe this should stir things up. Remember you heard it here first.
The 8 teams that will make it to the state tourny are;
Brentwood - Should be a lock
Farragut - Ditto
West - If they can handle the pressure to get there. But watch Bearden.
Cookeville- Seen them play and not my strongest pick
Cleveland - Said it once already, If they can keep their head on straight, should be there
Independence - Second best team in Middle Tn.
Houston &
Collierville - They are the west for now
To everyone else: If you don't like my picks, then post yours. But end the end you know I'll be right.LOL.
I have seen Collierville and Kingsbury play more than once this year and you need to replace Collierville with Kingsbury.
Bearden dosen't have a chance this year.
Otherwise right on.

any scores so far and details
Thursday was Houston 4 Bearden 2
Friday was Houston 3 MUS 0
Didn't stay for the Bearden Siegal game but I want to know the score. My guess is Bearden 3 Siegal 1.

The Briarcrest- Kingsbury game was a great game. Kingsbury score in the first ten minutes and the game was up and down the field for the rest of the game. Briarcrest got a red card with 25 minutes to go in the second half and still the game went back and forth. Both teams were really giving great effort. Most entertaining game I have seen all year.
Collierville is talented, but word is some of their seniors are letting the team down (skipping school, red cards for language). I would probably go with Kingsbury right now.
In the colierville houston game there were 1 yellow and 1 red for coments to the refs from collierville players and the red card was after a houston foul that was called so go figure.
-
You need to watch Kingsbury play. I think they are better than Collierville this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Houston and Kingsbury in state this year.
-
Post here please.
Houston 4 Bearden 2
One of the best games I have seen in a long time. Houston blocked a PK and Bearden didn't. Bearden looked very good some of the time but the game was never really in question from the start. Bearden's back line altered at least 10 quality shoots in the first half that all looked like they had an excellent chance. Great game and very well played on both sides.
JV was Houston 1 Bearden 0 to start the night.
