  1. Thumbs up to Dennis King and his program at Brentwood High School.  I have heard a lot of talk about Brentwood Academy possibly being the best team in middle Tennessee and he goes in there last night and wins easily.  Very easily.  Preparing to play his team is a nightmare.

Thumbs down to the Tennessean.  Last night you had Brentwood vs. Brentwood Academy and Ensworth vs. CPA and you did not cover either.  Come on MAN!

  2. I'm not crying...

I just have been trying to be nice.

Both East lit and CPA are Terrible, and thats not fair to teams that are terrible.

The only thing left to say is that on both nights Ezell played worse, its hard to imagine, but anything is possible. Maybe I know her dad and he told me 11:43. Congrats to east for playing 5 sophmores, look at your record, it shows. They will have to work forever to beat the teams in their District. It does not matter how hard they try David Lipscomb, FRA, Ezell and CPA are committed to winning. excellance. They players work all year round on their own to be the best. If you get a 10 point lead on CPA they will play their guts out trying to come back. If you get a 10 point lead on East...they quit. If you are their coach...teach them about heart. You have two years to make a difference. I also know that there is an 8th grade superstar over at CPA. Funny she did not want to play on the Varsity this year. Did not want to lose a year of eligibility when she transfers! Kinda weird. If you follow the game and have a vested intrest in outcomes of team where you have helped develop the players you will know what happened in their games. I have girls all over this area who have played for me in AAU since they were kids. Nothing weird about it,

Since we havn't got your thought of the day yet, which we all thirst for, I thought I would go to the archives and find some of your best (thoughts / predictions) from the season.

    This is my personal favorite.

  3. Fact- Great win for East Lit ...Congrats!

    Fact- Ezell was mugged

Fact- East Lit's physical play played a factor in the outcome

    End of story ...

I think that any unbiased person that saw this game would definitely say that Ezell Harding was the more physical team. They have a great scrappy defense that gets everywhere. One thing I did notice was that they used their hands on defense very, very much. For you suits, that is called hand checking and is a foul.

Most teams don't go 15-3 with a tough schedule without playing physical. Ezell is very physical and that is one of the reasons they are so successful. Does East Lit play physical? I would say yes You have to play physical to be successful. Would you say that John Wooden's Bruins were not a physical team. Would you say that Billy Donavan's inside duo of Noah and Horford were not physical? How about Daily's Pistons? Heck No, they were all physical, that is why they were good.

To come on here and use words such as "mugged" is a disgrace to this board. It makes me want to compare your statement to what is going on in the golf world right now, but I am going to stay away from that.

"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." -John Wooden

  4. THESE POLLS MEAN NOTHING. I AGREE. CPA SHOULD BE UP THERE SOMEWHERE. I'M A WHITE HOUSE FAN AND I BELIEVE WH WOULD BEAT CPA, BUT CPA'S RECORD AND TEAMS THEY'VE BEAT AND MARGIN OF VICTORY SHOULD INCLUDE THEM. HAVE THEY EVEN LOST A GAME TO A TENNESSEE TEAM? IF PEOPLE ARE GONNA VOTE FOR THIS THEY SHOULD KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.

That is a strong statement about White House beating CPA. You might want to come off the hill and see CPA play before making those kind of remarks.

  5. I think EL will improve as the year goes on. They have some athletes and they played hard. EL tactically was way too aggressive-they gave the officials no real choice but to blow the whistle. A film to the TSSAA would show they had only a fraction of the fouls they committed called on them regardless of what it would show about FRA. With Canady banged up FRA was in no hurry and increasing pressure was EL's answer-unfortunately accompanied by a couple of cheap shots and some of the roughest play I've seen outside of AAU.

The first intentional foul was a call underneath the basket when the smallest girl on the court from EL got pushed around and retalliated..Should have been called a double foul. The second intentional foul came late in the fourth quarter when EL was trying to foul to gain back possesion of the ball. The same little girl made at least two attempts to foul cleanly and the whistle was not blown; she then got more aggressive to get the call. Let's be honest here...the girl who was called for both intentional fouls is 5'1 and 100 pounds (with her pads on)...

  6. That happens in every game with FRA, Its not just East, Fra posts the ball up and then cry's or grunts while making contact with the defense, the officials are so bad this year that they hear a sound and call a foul. (they did not get these calls at station camp)

I was suprised that east played them this close, but tonight a Goodpasture team, that at best is weak almost beat FRA, I dont know whats going on at FRA, but other than maplewood, everyone has stomped Goodpasture.

The goodppasture game would have been a little different if Canady had played last night. She averages 18 points a game and is the spark for FRA

  7. East will be served with a little bit of blow out.

Fra will waste them, this game will not even be close. End of first quarter FRA 22, East 6

    Final 67-23 fra

    Thats if fra subs late

Not the case shpshter93....Final Score 48-36

FRA led by 4 points at the half. East took the lead once in the THIRD QUARTER.

East was welcomed into the District by shooting ZERO FOUL SHOTS VS. FRA'S 26 FOUL SHOTS. This is not a typo.

FRA was well coached and hustled on every play. Good win for them.

  8. What goes around, comes around.....

My friend....East Literature led your girls by 12 at the half. In the third quarter your girls were very physical on defense; like any team should be on defense when down by 12 and the referees didn't blow the whistle because of the "lead". Then the basketball gods took over and the final is history.

Furthermore, if you have access to the game film......go back and look at the game winning shot. You only get two steps before you pass or shoot......I think.

Congrats to Greenbrier for fighting back and pulling off a good victory.

  9. There is a spring in Overton Co. where they get their water. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

All the girls are pretty(the best play basketball) and most of the boys end up (Drs or Lawyers).

    Jimbo,

Tell us how the game went.

  10. I am out of school. I am just a basketball junkie. I forgot about Barntes. He is legit. He can shoot it. I think you guys will miss Rucker and the point guard who wore a wig, I can't remember his name, a lot more than you are thinking you will. Rucker was the only guy on the team that played any D. Now he is gone and now Barnes is the only real ballhandler you have. You are correct that no one can stop Gaines but throw in a first year head coach and I just see problems. I could be wrong but I think a third place finish is in your future.

"but throw in a first year head coach and I just see problems"....Maybe you should do your research before you type. This coach played for The Coach Kington at Franklin Simpson (Kentucky) and probably could have played college bball, but chose to play football in West Virginia. For those who don't know, The Coach Kington is an excellent coach who's claim to fame is coaching Corey Brewer at Portland. Corey took three people to the NBAdraft; him mom, his brother Jason, and Coach Kington.

Furthermore, remember that Coach Spencer came to White House and helped Coach Jim Davis turn a 1 win team to a 20 win team.

Back to the subject at hand....Coach Spencer has learned from one of the best Coaches around and has experience. This guy will utilize his players on offense and will definitely hold teams to less than their average on defense.

Only time will tell who will win this district, but If I was a betting man.....i got a hundred spot on the "first year coach" and his team.

    -Wall, Paul

  11. "lipscomb is back"

I think everybody in the district is back with the addition one team.

The big difference is Lipscomb is the only team who lost 5 starters.

This district is wide open for the taking.

Heck, on a good night, Pearl can beat Lipscomb.
