  1. it was just released in all the local papers that william johnson will be the head coach with david glasscock calling plays as well as kevin adkins in charge of the d. the details was hard to work out because adkins needed to be in charge of putting together a wwe program for the students.johnson alson has been rumored to be in contact with david wilholt . this will be a great staff for blackman glass has real good ties in rutherford co.

I guess I am missing out on the joke here....still hearing a lot of rumors in Wildcat country.....

  2. I don't know who you are, and I don't really care. However, you better stop sending personal attack comments to my account. That should be grounds for you to be kicked off of here. I am having trouble contacting a board administrator, so I will do this in public. You need to stop harrassing folks, because I know I ma not the only one.

  3. I have worked with a lot of the coaches on the staff of WC. Some of them like me and some of them do not. That is not the point. The point is that what could Aric have ever done to you to make you continually take shots at him? Do I agree with every decision that is made? NOpe......does anyone actually?

Why are you, as a poster, so insecure in yourself that you have to keep on and on attacking...season after season? Get over it, get a life, and move on. This thread is about a very important football game on Friday night. DOn't take it away from the kids so you can feed your ego and hide behind this board.

It is obvious that you are harboring some bad feelings from Aric's Sumner County days. Let it go!!!

  4. Did Wilson County leadership come from Cumberland County? I know this is not really funny. But, what is going on here? Is this something we can expect to happen to other school systems?

not sure...but new director of schools is from East Tennessee

I doubt this happens and if it does, I am sure that many coaches will continue to coach this season. It is ashame that this could happen, Football molds more young men than any other individual activity or class in America. It is a source of structure, commitment, resposibilty, and family. Whomever is responsible for suggesting the answer was to cut coaches pay should have no decision making authority with our youth whether it is education or athletics. The person who suggested this as an answer is a bonefied dumbass

I personally was very good at math, but I never had a math teacher influence my life like my football coaches.

I am a man of strong values, great work ethic, and a dependable employee not because of math, english, or science classes but because of sports in my youth and family.

I am under the impression that the coaches will be locked out as well

  5. The sad thing is that the future of our students has become a pawn in a political show down. The kids do deserve better. The time and effort they out in will be flushed down the drain if this happens. However, they can't cut teacher positions either.

I think the spending needs to be evaluated from the ground up. One of the issues is funding a new Lebanon High School. They do need a new school. But, to offer 1.5 million on a school design when the county already owns the plans for the new MJHS and WCHS makes absolutely no sense. The schools in Rutherford County all mirror one another, why does the county need to blow over 1 million dollars just so they can be different.

  6. WC did not play their best game on Friday night, and were still able to pull out a "W". They should be able to do this again because they have the athletes and team speed to get it done. And they shouldn't over look the bears.

Personally, I can't stand MJ. They haven't traded film in the past and I have little respect for that type of coach. I don't think WC is over confident. However, to make a long run at it, WC is going to have to get a little more serious about what they are doing.

Remembering that last year is over can be hard. And if they have to be reminded by the coaching staff daily that they are not entitled to anything, then so be it. But, hopefully the coaches can get thru to them before another team proves it to them.

  7. I don't think the filming is a very big controversy.

I would think not. Anyways, if that great(?) former coach of yours had not been so tacky and classless as to not trade film, it would not be an issue. And, if it was a parent that recorded it, how can anyone be held accountable.

It has always been my opinion that it is a coward who will not trade film. I am not calling anyone a name, just stating my opinion. And you know what they say about those....

  8. My understanding is that Bartsch took the freshmen job as a choice. He has worked under some extremely successful coaches in California. A couple had some of the most wins in the state during their tenure. He also has experience coaching many positions. The reason the offensive set is mentioned so much is that Cannon Co. has expressed the desire to run the wing-t. Maybe he is the guy for the job, maybe he isn't, but the fact that he was a freshmen head coach should be a non-issue. He's coached 6 years at the varsity level. When he coached at Wilson Central was the first time he had freshmen. Especially when he was coaching in 5-A, and Cannon Co. is a 3-A program.

  9. I have actually worked with Coach Bartsch in the past, and the guy does know his stuff. I personally am not a huge fan of the Wing-T(I like Pro-Style and Veer Option) but if I were wanting to run that set, than I would give him a call first. He is also a stickler for discipline. And not just discipline off the field. THe plays are expected to be run crisp and clean...all the way from the huddle to the whistle. He is a California guy, and brings some west coast wing-t philosophies that have a proven track record. In his first year as Oakland's freshmen head coach, he took a team that had not won in a long while and had a winning record while earning respect from the players and parents along the way. I think he deserves a shot.

  10. McChurch is a great QB, especially running the ball. I believe one of the overall best athletes in the region. ....Is he going anywhere to the next level.

I think his top 3 are Air Force, Tennessee Tech, and Carson Newman. He will be playing safety tomorrow morning in the Tennessee All Star game. He is a hard hitter, and has plenty of speed to keep the plays in front of him. He ran a 4.6 40 in the preseason, which isn't bad for a safety.

  11. Ringowrm11 is the best end on our team and he proved it this year with about 15 sacks on a state championship team. I want him in front of me on defense any day just thought i would add that. Two State Championships in a row and you the Riverdale man is going to put us fourth, that is no respect. Maybe we should do it again next year as well Three peat

hey, maybe he is. I have never met him personally so I can't argue that. I was just stating that he talks like a scrub sometimes. Most good players let their play speak for them. I have no beef with the guy whatsoever.

I will say that McChurch is probably the toughest QB I have ever seen. That includes the ones I have played with and the ones I have coached.

It is plain to see that the region will be hotly contested once again.

I wonder who gets to knock off Riverdale next year? They now know for sure that they won't be walking all over WC or Smyrna anymore. Who else can join the party?

  12. Actually I'm a hundred and seventy pounds and started 12 games at de. I play in the trenches and have a right to voice my opinion about whatever i want. If you think back to senior night against us you will remember me hitting McChurch a couple times. I'm not talking smack about anyone, I'm just stating what i think. You always seem to get on here and start stuff, not smyrna people. Just loosen up and say what you think not get into a stupid argument about predictions. Do you even play or are you a fan who bleds blue and gold, sounds like you might be a kid who was never good enough to play, or played for WC in the past.

Well, I am not going to argue with a teenager. Don't take what I said personally, I was just asking a question.

I would not be surprised if it was actually McChurch hitting you and you hanging on for dear life........

BTW, I was good enough to play, and good enough to get offers to play in college. I have also coached football. I have followed this region since long before WC was built, and while Smyrna was trying to make it in 4-A

  13. It is way too early to put much weight into this, but for what it's worth.....

There will be a 3-way tie for the region. Riverdale, Smyrna, and WC will probably all beat each other (i.e. WC beats Riverdale, Riverdale beats Smyrna, Smyrna beats WC) or something of that nature. All three end up 8-2. One of the 3 may go 7-3, one could go 9-1, but nobody comes out next year undefeated. Then I believe Blackman and Lebanon slug it out for 4th. Blackman has some unbelievable speed, and Lebanon has been building for this season ( this senior group was undefeated, after this season, Lebanon talent hits a dry period).

Then Lavergne, Oakland, and Siegel can slug it out for the final 3 spots. Really doesn't matter because they will not make the playoffs.

Of course, all of this hinges on players moving in or out, and offseason injuries. We can make our final predictions in August.

  14. That was a joke between me and the riverdale guys not you. And WC is good your right but whose going to replace the big three of Adkins,McChurch, and Majors. I'm not disrespecting WC either it's just predictions, stay cool "little one." And yes WC lined up with us twice and yall where beating us in week ten but then i think...... we won.

In the playoffs when we played again wasn't it 17-7 we won again. Yeah your right WC lined up against us twice but not really smash mouthed us. No disrespect, just stating the truth.

I'm not uncool, little fella. I gave you props for winning, but you did get "popped." If you don't think so, please post on here that Rottero cannot hit. I remember a hit he put on Sonny Gray last year that stuck in Gray's mind so long he didn't complete another pass the rest of the game. And, state championships aside, before you talk smack in this region, you need to win it. Independence was a patty cake and you know it. There is no way you would have rather played WC again.

BTW, do you even play, or are you just a scout-teamer that basks in your team's success? This is not an insult, just a question. You don't talk like someone who actually plays and understands what goes on between the lines and in the trenches of 4-5A football.

  15. Maybe...

But I really do think that the top two are still Riversmell and Smyrna. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> just a joke riverdale guys...

keep talkin' that smack Smyrduh, 'cause you don't have a clue.

BTW, you'll have to actually beat Riverdale more than once to really have bragging rights.....

  16. I don't think WC will be last though. Sixth is a place where your one win away from makin the play-offs. I just think with the loses of Adkins,Majors,McChurch, and Rottero WC next year won't be the same WC as this year.

didn't do your homework, little one. Rottero is only a junior. WC is only losing 7 starters total. They will return to the playoffs. BTW, they started 3 sophomores as well. Don't be surprised when WC is in the mix again for a region championship. They have athletes all over the place.

I love how they never get any love on here. Especially from Smyrna. They lined up and smacked you in the mouth both times and you still have no respect. Smyrna won, yes, but it was a brawl and they know it.

  17. I agree. No disrespect to Riverdale or Coach A. They did an awesome job this year and every year, but Aric without a doubt should of won. I believe they always give coach of the year to the team that wins the regions coach. I think it's automatic.

You are probably right on this one. However, I don't think it should be automatic. Riverdale was picked by the same coaches to finish 1st or at worst, 2nd in the region. they didn't do anything special, other than meeting expectations. The coaches picked Aric and his Wildcats to finish dead last. Wow, were they wrong. Talk about eating crow. There is another thread on here that talks about the "crow eating" award........I think it goes hands down to the coaches in region 4-5A. There is only one of them that can't say they were out-coached by a guy they picked to finish last. There is no one that can argue that!!!!!!

  18. I think the return of Elrod will be huge, and the status of the D-Coordinator will also go along way in determining the success of the wildcats next year. I would call them both gurus, and hope to see them both return. Coach Aric has assembled a pretty good staff, especially his right hand men. Regardless of the coaching however, these guys need to play with heart, play as a team, and continue to build each other up. Expect excellence from each other, encourage when it is not achieved, pick up each other's slack when you have to, seniors LEAD, and go get a championship!!

  19. Really Ouch that must have been a hard hit through his helmet ehhh... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

didn't have his helmet on, was standing on the sidelines and the play spilled out of bounds. He was helping his own player up, and a Smyrna defender cold cocked him. Atleast that is what the player said about it.
