  1. Couldn't ya'll just order smaller patches or a larger jacket? Or sew the extra patches onto your big, bloated head. Good grief, if you people lose the governor will have to send suicide counselors to Milan.
  2. I must just be old, but you guys haven't mentioned any of the players from the 70's when they got it rolling. Can't believe there isn't a street named after Fisher and Fields; captains on an SEC team at the same time. Trenton, you need to list some Peabody legends. I can think of some.
  3. Agree with everything but the 0. Well, I guess I think they've done a better than decent job. also. I posted after the 1st round that it seems that when that program has players they can maximize. I would think in this region that winning enough games to qualify for the playoffs involves winning a big one or two. They beat Humboldt and JCS. Beat Westview on the road in the 1st round. I would think that GC-Peabody is a pressure game with the schools so close together. Easy to look back and say those weren't big, but there is no 3rd round without those games being won.
  4. BTW, I think that UT team won the SEC. If not, it was during that late 80's period where Majors won 2 SEC titles.
  5. Does it have to be a playoff game? I'm asking. What do you think about these 2 criteria-1. Has to mean something and, 2. both teams have to have a chance. Vandy-UT, for example, has always had meaning in terms of conference play but Vandy rarely had a chance. So UT thumping them did not qualify as a big game. Does now, though. UT-Bama, Florida, or Georgia, on the other hand, is usually big. Did that make sense? Just a thought. Friday definitely qualifies as big and I don't have an answer to the question. I imagine coaches know going in to a game if they have a chance. Fans hope, coaches have an idea.
  6. Now there's a post that celebrates success, trumpets tradition, and brings pride to any fan of the program. And he did not even mention Earnest Fields and John Fisher- the first 2 guys from the same high school to be captains at the same time for the Vols.
  7. BleedPurple02 last week- Excuses? So your telling me if you didn't have your QB and 3 O-linemen and 2 defensive backs that you would not mention them??? The first match up was irrelevent. Soak that victory up and get ready for next years Jamboree Last week the 1st Milan-Huntingdon game was irrelevant according to you. This week a person would be retarded to say the 1st match-up was irrelevant. Were you retarded last week?
  8. There's a Milan softball player on that home page. Where did she sign?
  9. Some sort of trainer? His dad is Phil Campbell, well known in football circles as a speed trainer. Check out http://www.40speed.com/
  10. Get her on here. I'll do the best I can. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  11. 3,5,6,7 are facts. Everything else is opinion. I'll bet Trenton puts 11 out there.
  12. Honest opinions stated in condescending ways (you couldn't resist the 'inferiority complex' comment addressed to Trenton people that sometimes not so nicely disagree with you). Some folks wish to take issue. Honest isn't the word- biased is. Biased in that you are for your team. I'm sure you honestly believe the opinions but they are based upon your loyalty to your team, not any facts. You are for your team. Someone from Trenton posts taking issue with your opinion and state why their team will win and the contest is on. Milan responds with another "honest opinion". Trenton responds. Definition of the wizzin contest to which I referred. Everyone is involved, even you. That's why we're here. We are enjoying it. You can't take cover by saying,"We were just expressing an honest opinion". Everyone starts with the outcome they desire in mind and then form opinions to support their desired outcome. It's called being a fan. Is ok. Silly to express an opinion and then make rules for the people that wish to rebut. You say what you say, they say what they say and it's all fine. Makes for good rivalries.
  13. Yep. Read y'alls, too. No difference. Just one big wizzin' contest. Your side gives as good as it gets but some of you don't want to have to take it.
  14. Who hates you? Said last week and will repeat- Milan seems to give up yards but few points.
  15. Carver is young and good but young none the less. Coach Harris has said that he thinks they will be back to the 2002-05 level next year. Maybe, young Harpers but no senior Harper. Kendal Harper is brilliant but the notion that they are a one man team is false- #'s 8, 31, 53, 5, Abbott (#?), and others. They're pretty good.
  16. I asked that, also. He ended up at Jackson State. Had offers to some of the Ivys-said no. Hope he doesn't regret it.
  17. All about financial considerations; nothing to do with safety or ignorance. We've all been to Memphis and will go again. Get your feelings off your sleeve.
  18. Old news, I know, but the idea was floated to Peabody not by Peabody.
  19. Absolutely! Also, leads to responses from the rest of us. Difference between confidence and being obnoxious. The line is not a thin one. Easy to recognize the difference. Can't trash folks and then tell them you're just being confident.
  20. Don't you all think Milan will get more stops than Huntingdon? Milan gives up yards but never seems to give up points. BTW, I have been spending time on govolsextra.com and hawgsports.com. We don't get after each other nearly as hard as those folks; hilarious. Coaches Fulmer and Nutt get ripped, also. Coaching is a tough life.
  21. Thanks. I liked it. However, Johnnie Hale's Harvard stuff was pretty good. If we aren't able to sit back and laugh at these posts then we all need anger management classes. Thanks, again.
  22. Peabody did not attempt a 2-point conversion until they missed the kick after TD #1. Then tried to kick on TD #3. Finally, just gave it up. Strictly a coaching decision based on events that occurred. You say, "any other coach would have kicked the extra point". Again, your assumption is that he would make it. You can't assume they would have gone up by 3. He would have had to do something that he hadn't done all night. Your point about the 2-point attempts being insane is well taken. There seemed to be no good options. So, his choices were to let the guy attempt the kick or let #7 and/or #8 try for 2. Hard to argue against 7 and 8.
  23. Well said. Bledsoe is an excellent player. And that bulldog graphic is cool.
  24. Good one. I should have stuck with the humor and forgot the editorializing. Responding to a condescending remark with a condescending remark. I've never predicted anything. Have no need for the crow. No excuses and no crying here. No need for the bib. IMPRESSIVE HOW EXCITED YOU GET WHEN YOU CAN'T RESTRAIN YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
