what does everyone think about who will go to state this year form region 7?
-
Cumulatively speaking,
BL-----21
bcb iii---18
Bring the money, honey.
no body on here except for two ppl out of like 20 predictions thought that an underdog team like antioch could go that far in this tourney. well dont yall just feel like idiots knowing that they got top six in the state out of 16... if u ask me thats a lot better than not making it past the first round...what do u think?
-
well heres how it went....antioch beat hendersonville in the first round 40-36. in the quarterfinals antioch lost to bradley central 57-20. in the second round consolation antioch defeated for the first time ever overton 30-29 in the third criteria. in the third round consolation antioch beat science hill 34-32 forfeiting the last three weight classes. and in the consolation semifinals antioch lost to cleveland 65-12 finishing in the top six in state.
And congratulations to east lit for placing third in the small team state tourney.
Region 7 really showed up this year for state and i think that this will be a year that everybody stops under estimating what region 7 can do.
Congrats again to region 7 and i cant wait to see how the individual tourney ends up. its going to be battle all the way to the end.
-
i wouldnt exactly call it that.. yea steiner would have beat him.. and you may be right about their 130.. but c'mon now.. was antioch's wrestler really trying to even wrestle pegram? Pegram was trying to work all the moves from my veiwpoint.. which means while the antioch wrestler saved his energy Pegram was wasting his knowing they needed a pin.. and shawn rhodes? hmm.. how many times has he beat pegram this year..........? not at all from what i can recall.. and didnt he pin him as well? hmm.. reams against antioch's original 189(pin) and rhodes vs. Pegram.. (pin) or major dec. and clemons with a pin as well..thats the way it would have went down.. but, soboun did gut that match out.. heck of a job by him knowing he no more injury time.. nuffio is a good wrestler, very up tempo style.. vongsamphanh looks like he wants to slow things down a bit.. nuffio was just alil to much to handle on that night.. the rucker/ williams match was pretty impressive.. i thought rucker would have won by more than that.. but willaims held his own.. Reams looked pretty good.. im still not buying into him being fully healed tho..
individuals will be a great showdown.. region 7 is finally showing to everyone how good they really are.. goodluck to glencliff, east lit, and mlk.. congrats antioch.. lest hope region 7 can make a splash in C'ville..
the way it sounds to me is that someone on the glencliff side is mad that antioch beat them for the third straight time this year and getting a little aggrivated by it....but im here to tell u that its ok, everything will be alright so dont get mad get glad.... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

anyone believe he will beat Rucker again but at region and @ 119. Lillard truley has the potential of placing at state this year along with several other region 7 wrestlers. Anybody have any ideas of any region 7 wrestler who might end up placing this year.
Beyar Yahya as well as Thomas Holman if they return
Sobourn if he makes it to 103
Luis Aguilar @ 112
Lillard HL @ 119
Steiner GL @ 130
Osatile Antioch @ 135
Lett EL/Straff. @135
Garrett EL @ 140
Chandler @ 145
not to sure bout the bigger boys
it spelled soboun
and steiner is not going130
is that who u think will get first at the region tourney?
-
McLovin 008 i am behind you all the way. Just thought i'd leave some stuff about the past. Last year Steiner of GL defeated Klienart of Beech like 4 or 5 times evertime they met. Steiner i believe will never let what happened at the Harpeth happen ever again. Mintlow from GL as well beat the Beech kid by PIN at least three times this year so i wouldn't worry about him either. - Glencliff back to back regions champs yes that means this year it will be Glencliffs got a problem with it deal w/ it on judgment day on January 24 nunu you especially aint ready 4 GLencliff
Wow thats some hard thinking someone that hasnt even come close to beating antioch....the first match was 42-27 and the second one was 51-18...now im sorry those are not what i or any one else would even come close to say was having a close match. and u know what i cant wait until ur so called judgment day so antioch can u put u in ur place again....and after they beat for a third time theirs no crying about it or saying that we had forfeits given to us or ne other kinda crap that u say...after antioch beats u i dont wanna hear another word about it... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

well.. anyways.. it seemed to work.. but, we'll just have to see at the region duals.. it looks as though its going to be between GLencliff and antioch in the finals.. because i dont see HL or mcgavock making a run for it.. but ya never know... HL is pretty close to making a full team. but, Glencliff put it to them in the 3rd and 4th place match. i personally think it should have been between antioch and glencliff in the finals. Wilson central didnt look too good.. i think wilson central would have lost to Glencliff. I think beech had high hopes.. but, i guess there plan back fired when WC beat them.
ok answer me this then...how could it possibly been antioch and glencliff in the finals when they faced off in the semis....i mean come on now quit being retarded
-
Its sad to say but true to be that Glencliff will once again pull off as region champs. Several forfeits were passed to Antioch @ the Beech Duals but i seriously doubt there will be that many forfeits at the region duals. i will all though admit Antioch is beginning to become a strong team but Glencliff always pulls through later in the year.
p.s. MAy i remind u antioch won most tournament over Glencliff through all last year but Glencliff was able to pull through and take it WHERE IT MATTERED
ok heres the problem with that...i could see if the score had been a little bit closer but the match was a blow out - score: antioch - 51, glencliff - 18.... im sorry but they had no chance this year....antioch just has a stronger squad this year and i just cant see why u cant face the facts when they are staring u in the face.....its time u get over ur self and ur pride for 2 seconds and just face the inevitable.....
P.S. may i remind u that smyrna, and hume fogg had a better chance to beat antioch than glencliff (since they did have more team pts against antioch than u did) did at the duals....and antioch will pull it out where it matters again in the region duals...and those are just the cold hard facts /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Ok, I'm a bit confused. Is this just bad information, or is someone out and out "not telling the truth" to make them self look better?
In this morning's Commercial Appeal (Memphis), there is an article on St. Benedict's wrestling program. (http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/20 ... next-year/). In the article is clearly states that the team competed in its first tournament just 5 years ago. And that in its first tournament, everyone was getting pinned in the first minute of the match.
Ok, now here is what I know.
In 2002, STB competed in the Black Horse Invitational, and in that tournament STB had two boys medal (Doug Taylor @ 140, and Jeff Mullins @ 152), now if my calculations are correct, that would mean that was 5 years ago. The same year this program supposedly began. Hmm? Doesn't sound like EVERY one of the boys got pinned in their first minute here. Makes me wonder who is telling the truth here. On top of that, if the program began in 2002, then how does one explain that in 2000 (more than 5 years ago) there were boys competing in the TN State tournament.
Now answer me this, the coach may be doing a fine job, and yes things are looking up for the program, but why would a coach out and out not tell the truth about the program? To me, this does disservice to the boys that wrestled there before him, and to the coaches that began that program.
yeah true that....i dont have ne clue to the reason y a coach would do that to his own wrestling program....to me he should have to give another statement to his actions wouldnt u think so
