  1. The Lebanon/White game is significant and emotional as it is the final game in the LHS gym for the last of the Twin Towers, Icelyn Elie. Elie is not only a great player but one of the best female athletes to come out of Lebanon High School. It is very likely that a great crowd will be there to pay tribute to this fine player and the Schools team who is competing with Siegel for 5th place in the district.

    Not so fast my friend.

    1. On Monday, February 16th, the Lebanon Devilettes will entertain the Wilson Central Lady Wildcats at Campbell Brandon Gymnasium.

    2. First Round Districts

    3. First Round Region

    4. Substate

Ok 2-4 is pushing it, but it is possible.

  2. According to Lebanon Democrat, game will resume Thursday Jan. 29 with 47.5 seconds remaining in 1st half and Lebanon up 61-29. Warren Co. comes to Lebanon the next night for their regularly scheduled game.

16 minutes 47.5 seconds remaining and up 32 points (more than the other team has even scored:

Love to see Lebanon blow them out tonight and tomorrow just for making them drive down there tonight.

  3. If the girls parents moved to that school zone and bought a house or rented an apartment and shut off all their utilities at their previous residence they are legal.

If they pay tuition or if their is no tuition and the parents don't move, they must sit out a year to the date.

Coaches cannot provide transportation or living quarters for athletes.

It has already been lost in court, Coaches getting custody. Jefferson County 1982 Cornbread Maxwell (NBA) 6'10 African American was adopted by the JC Boys BB coach. Later in court when he contested the forfeit of freshman FB and varsity BB games. He said he loved the boy. The Judge asked coach if he would love the boy as much if he was 5'5 and white. Still a big laugh among us old timers up here in the boonies.

Let the TSSAA do their research and let nature take it's course.

WOW - Cornbread Maxwell was born in North Carolina in the 1950's, Played at UNC CHARLOTTE in the 70's, and was the N.B.A. Finals M.V.P. in 1981 with the Boston Celtics. I never knew he returned to high school in 1982 to revive his career.

  6. Wow!!!! The Airball is from LHS? He/She has been hiding all year and likely caught you on one of your trips thru Lebanon. Its hard to believe as he just sails thru without notice and really has his home work done. Riverdaleman slhould have some comments on that if he sails thru again and especially if he picks Lebanon. The RD has been strangely quiet but something is happening over at Riverdale and they will be ready for sure. May be saving up gas money for the trip.

Just got through with my last assignment and am ready for some stellar predictions. I do believe 7-aaa fans are the most knowledgeable in the state (swami,phargis,riverdaleman,85warrior,and many more). Here is how i see the games tonight.

And finally, in a really good match-up, Oakland WILL NOT lose their third district game in a row, as they will travel into the best home court advantage in our district (White County) , but will eke out the 5 point victory. The "SWAMI" has spoken !!!! Read em and weep.

  10. The Warren CO. -Lebanon game was postponed tonight with about 1 min. 30 sec left before halftime, due to a leaking roof , from all the rain today. Before the leak started Lebanon had hit 10 three's with seven of them coming from the hot hand of the ( X-man) Smith. Smith had 26 points and it was still in the first half ,before play was stopped with Lebanon scoring a whopping 61 points to Warren County's 29. No, details of when the game would be made-up.

Too bad this game got postponed: Lebanon could have set some team/individual records tonight.

  11. AAAAHHHHH YYYYEEEEESSSSSSS !!!!!! The "SWAMI" has arrived !!! Please ! Please !! Everyone control yourselves and be seated. It's time once again for the all-insightful "SWAMI" to make his fearless predictions for Tues. Jan. 6th district matchups. "SWAMI" will try and improve on his stellar (6-2 record). In a great match-up of Boro teams Riverdale will invade Blackman and come away with a hard fought 9 point victory over a very dangerous Blackman squad. White County will make their short trip up to Cookeville and will lose for the first time this year (IN Tenn.) by their unability to handle Cookeville's size and home-court. Cookeville by 5. Siegel will travel over to Oakland and will come away with a 15 point victory in a tune-up for that monster boys game to follow. And finally, Lebanon will come into Warren County and get a much needed win, by slipping past my Lady Pioneers. Too much pressure and too much Elie, Lebanon by 11. The SWAMI" has spoken !! 13. I saw Miss Hassel play as a freshman and she "nowhere" near the player Williams is.

If I remember correctly Hassel only averaged around 10 or 12 points a game when she was a freshman.

Lets compare Hassel as a freshman to what Williams is now. I think you'd have to give Williams a distinct advantage.

Only time will tell. But I think the sky is the limit for Ciya.

    Go Lady Bears

PS - In the Golden Bear Invitanional this weekend Wilson Central plays Hillsboro Sat. at 4:30.

Mt. Juliet plays Hunters Lane at 7pm.

Freshmen Williams is more valuable to her team than was the freshmen Hassell. Wilson Central had others that were their go to players at the time. Hassell was a role player her freshmen year as opposed to what role Williams is being utilized as. Hassell waited her turn to be the team's premier player and has shown that she can put a team on her shoulders.

Either way the end result for Hassell's freshmen year worked out "ok" wouldn't you say?

It would say so much more if the same result occurs for Williams. I would expect nothing less than a good run in the tourneys by this team.

  14. The "swami"s crystal ball needs a little adjusting after last night's games, going 2-2. Really missed on the White County-Siegel game, but I should have known better to bet against that senior laden group of gals from white County. As far as the Riverdale - Cookeville game, it was really too close to call with the caliber of players on both squads. But, all and all, I thought it was a great opening night for our district and it looks like this will be one hard season of predicting games for the old "swami" with so many even teams this year. Congrats to "Airball" on his picks going 3-1. The "swami" will be back Thursday and will try to do better on Friday's game. The "SWAMI" has spoken !!!!!

Thanks for the shout-out swami, was just wondering when you were going to make an appearance today.

  15. Reggie Little was a beast. I remember he broke a backboard at Ryan. He was a different bird /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> but a strong guy. Very hard to front on the block. He threw me around some for sure.

    Puryear is a consultant to schools? WC Fields was right. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The Easterley team was 2001. I really thought they could win it that year, but did not play well that day in the boro.

What in the world was that post players name? He would have graduated with Bond and High in '87. I can see his face, but his name will not come to me. I guess I should call Troy and ask him.

Rob Hollis or perhaps Craig Bingham

  16. Yes !! Yes!! Yes!! the "SWami" is here !!! I've been rubbing the glass off my crystal ball and now, I am ready to predict the outcome of Tuesday's opening district games. Lebanon will travel into Oakland in a game, in my opinon, has the two best coaches in a very good coached district. Lebanon will play hard ,but come up short in a hard fought 8-12 point game. My Pioneers will travel to Blackman and will pull out a close fought victory at the foul line late. Warren by 3. Siegel will travel into White County, who has the best fans and home court advantage in our league and pull out a 10 point victory over Puckett- less White County. And , finally in another great district match-up Riverdale will journey into Cookeville and will return to Murfreesboro on the short end of a 5 point loss. The "Swami" has spoken !!! Read em and weep !!!!!
