  1. Goodness i just spent a good two hours on reading from cover to cover of this book. I'll state im a clinton fan hence the name orangecrush08. The team overall for clinton this year is faster and stronger than last years even with the starting qb out for the season. The sophomore qb will be a stud and dee and camion will run wild friday hopefully they'll hold on to the ball. it will be a good game i see it as a 20-19 game with two missed extra points from DB. I think it will be low due to the fact it will be a running first game with shattuck helping to control and limit little willards touches and throws

  2. And how many sacks did our O-line allow in that game? Sheesh, the pass protection was pretty awesome imho. And btw, are you really saying a current Clinton player was actively recruiting one of ours? I thought that only happened at private schools :roflolk:

Bonfire go burn yourself out somewhere else. Coach Blade has the situation well in hand. Farragut was the better team friday nite and a freshman qb would have only made things worst. The freshmen beat Farragut last nite and funny thing there wasn't a Hall at qb again.

I think boyfromsi said it all.

WOW! Where do I begin? First, if he's starting on varsity then he probably wouldn't play freshman. Second, Rian has played QB his entire life. He's the best option at the spot right now. He throws a beautiful deep ball and can escape pressure when the pocket collapses. Which will come in handy because your O-line is a disaster. Come to think of it Rian reminds me of Darian Stone. You know... The Clinton QB that destroyed you all last year and will no doubt humiliate you OR snobs once again. Rian has ties to the Clinton program. His cousin is freshman standout Camion Patrick. Camion plays WR and rumor has it is working hard to convince Rian to transfer. If I were him I'd give it serious consideration. You people almost lost him before he even got there. SO, keep trating him like garbage and you'll lose him for sure. I guess the Halls should write a bigger check than the current QB's family since they are the ones over it.

current student is his cousin telling him that clinton is better and he should come is not in anyway the coaches recruiting him to come there. So therefor he is doing nothing wrong

  3. Again too bad these kids dont play in a program that can lead them toward a championship, for instance if Stone were at Maryville he would be a D1 player, but at Clinton he WILL BE LUCKY TO BE A D3. The last D1 recruit from Clinton was back in the early 90s, sorry they just arent watching Clinton. And I hate it for the kids

Maryville would never ever do that! hahaha, they own the TSSAA board

i do remember a certain eric hensley if i am right that is on a 5-0 vanderbilt team. Last time i checked they were D1 and last time i checked they were in the SEC so hes pretty good. that was in 2005 when he was recruited

  4. the 40 time is probably a little off but the kid and several other clinton players are true burners, and as far as us being able to match up with your recievers, you guys were by far bigger faster and stronger than us last year in that matchup yet until the very end of the game we held our own, sometimes what a player has inside is a little more important than their physical attributes, clinton players always give their all that is one fact u cannnot argue they always put it all on the line and this year we actually have the speed at those positions to compliment that. spoon is an amazing returner and i really feel that his performance friday night will be a huge factor in the outcome, if oakridge can contain him, and just ask south doyle its no easy task, then they will have alot better chance in this game. if he can bust a few big ones and give clinton some decent field position then it will be a long night for the wildcats, on the flipside oakridge also has a nice return game and we'll definately have to keep that on lock to be successful.

    you tell him ertel

    clinton by 13

  5. 2-0 west

west dominated across the board... sure it was wet but it was wet for both teams... and diego got inured about 10-12 min in and didnt play the rest of the game

oak ridge is a diff team without him

his pace is amazing and very little trouble for the west d tonight since he didnt play

  6. Hats off to Oak Ridge. I did not think they would be back in a region final this soon.

Tough loss for Maryville. They have been very close to breaking through a few times in the last few years.

diego is a special player... but maryville didnt seem into it tonight..

ridge and david looked like the were injured or tired or a little of both

  7. Wow... both AAA finalists have been ousted. Tough break for Farragut, but i'm happy for west, it's might be their time now. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

so oak ridge hosts west for the region

ill take west in a 3-2 nailbiter

  8. from what i've heard from brentwood i agree with fivehole

next year they'll still be strong up top but very weak in the back

sophmore keeper from farragut... steven matlock i think

one of the best now ... and with time to grow he could be the best

  9. I'll bite...

I think these are the two best teams in the state (of the teams that I have seen and or played) when they are at the top of their game.

Not to take anything away from Maryville, but I think Farragut was rocked to the core with the loss of a dear friend the night previous, and I would imagine found it hard to get "pumped" for the game. Maryville is a VERY good team, and also can get their teams ready for the intensity of the match. I'll post my opinions on the Maryville Oak Ridge game on the other thread.

Both Farragut and West have incredible set pieces, including the dominant threat of throw ins (which were even deadly on our huge field, and will be so on Farraguts narrower field). They both have incredible team attacks, and build the attack well, with good ball movement. Individually, I think the edge might go to West, but as a team, it is almost like Farragut knows where each other are at all times. I love the 1 touch flick balls, or passes that they make.

The edge overall, I think goes to Farragut, because they are used to pressure situations like these big games. While it is good to be pumped, it can also bite you if the pendulum swings the other way. Farragut might not get as "high" but also doesn't seem to get as "low".

I would say that it is a true shame that one of these teams will not advance.

    I say Farragut 2 West 1...

its hard to beat a team that practices basically together all year long... east tn select and ultra lions practice alot together in the fall ... and most of the kids on both teams play at farragut... i believe this is a huge advantage adn why they can do the little one touch flicks nad passes, they all know eachother very well

farragut 5-3 grossbard throw ins are the difference...

  10. He did play hard all day long. And if this was a hard tackle and he was going for the ball, I say good, hard play. But there was no attempt at the ball. He grabbed Ridge by the arms and jersey and dragged him down from behind. Is that playing hard? Your call.

i understand what you are saying but he no intention, im assuming, that he was trying to hurt him... i dont mind the hard foul ... he got the card and the two games off... but the also won

  11. This was a decent game to watch. Both teams had their chances, but Farragut had the run of play. I could be mistaken (because I didn't get to see the first 20 minutes last night), but I think every single goal came off of a set piece. Both Farragut and Maryville are outstanding on their set plays.

Maryville tied the game in the second half with about 15 minutes to go. After that, Farragut out possessed Maryville for the remainder of the half and all of overtime. In fact, Maryville had a difficult time even clearing it out of their own third. I think Maryville's come from behind effort exhausted them, and ultimately, Farragut was able to keep their guys fresher with bigger bench numbers.

However, Maryville did have their chances, especially in the second half. Ridge Carter had a break away in the second half, only to get pulled down by Joseph Muth. He was rewarded a direct kick right outside of the box, which he placed perfectly in the right hand upper 90 of the net.

Overtime was very similar, Farragut outplayed Maryville, but Maryville had a golden chance when Carter broke through again. This time, (as G already alluded to), Muth literally tackled Carter from behind for an egregious, yet game saving "professional foul." The Maryville fans were screaming PK, but from where I was standing, I believe that he was just outside of the box.

Farragut ended up playing the last few minutes of the second overtime a man down, and moments after the red card, they scored off an outstanding corner. It was a great effort by both sides, and it was a shame that one team came out on top.

    Side notes:

1.) Jake Holt's absence was evident. Where was he?

2.) I think that Carter deserved a PK. It is a shame that the rules do not reward a PK for a foul like that. I am not sure how I feel about what Muth did, but I guess if the rules permit that type of a foul, then he was indeed a game saver.

3.) Most importantly, my prayers go out to Josh Ridner and the rest of the Farragut team for their loss.

sounds like a great game to watch

ridge and joseph are pretty good friends... they do play on the same club team but from the way it sounds ... muth was just playing hard which is what he does

  12. we lost the ball in the midfield, Diego got it, we stepped too late and he buried it far post. not much we could have done it was a good shot.

i saw this score and i thought yay karns wasnt a fluke last year . i think they proved against OR that it was a team last year and this year and not just cam bailing them out. dont get me wrong hes great but he needed the help

  13. I have seen Kat playing defense twice this year...i dont think he plays up top..i may be wrong though

no you are correct he plays outside back most of the game and gives one of the outside mids a break every once in awhile and moves up ... thats when hes dangerous

i hate to seem him back there he's too big of a threat on offense to not use him but maybe they are short on d

  14. This is the third or fourth thing I have heard about Anderson County having a good season. We play them on Monday, and I am really looking forward to it.

Got any scouting reports, Seymoursoccer? I know they used to have a very talented inside midfielder, but don't know much more than that. Their field is also very nice, but rather small, if I remember correctly.

they have two very good center mids

and they have some quick outside mids

they have to lighting quick forwards and one of them is a very strong player they arent the most skilled team but they will give you fits if you do not finish them

  15. Cumberland Gap vs. Union County?

    Cumberland Gap vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman?

    Pigeon Forge vs. Cumberland Gap?

Does anybody know who Cumberland Gap is by the way?

Any chance that a team who has never won more than 3 games...which was finally broken this year with 4 wins, win this years district and then region then maybe a good ways into state playoffs?with how well their doing?

based on seeing you all play in the preseason i see you all beating the first two but maybe struggling with a good pigeon forge team

  16. Think west is the favorite. Then I think you look at OR and Karns, although clinton and powell played OR well this season, so we may have a few upsets. Doesnt' really matter until may, though, since everyone gets into the playoffs. My picks would be West and OR right now, but that could change over the next few weeks.

akula is right look at last year with karns beating oak ridge in the tourney

    powell will suprise teams

clinton already 0-3 in district gonna be hard to come back but still some key games

karns should be strong with bowers and van arsdale

I dont know how good halls or central and have heard nothing of their scores
