  1. can you do us all a favor and make your posts make sense or just not post at all?

your making us dyer county people look bad.

Yeah she is I like seeing DC people on here because you guys get smart

and have good things to say sometimes but she made yall look bad

    she cannot be from DC I will say it for you. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  2. Most coaches know what their kids are capable of when the set the schedule and it should be set accordingly. If you have to play the best to be the best what does that say for the best? Are they softening their schedule to play you?

When you are the best you try to play the teams that will give you the best challenge.

Like a well coached team that might do things that you haven't seen.

    I was not talking about any certain team. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Who do you think does that Purple and Gold?

  3. It is a different animal in AAA as you will see. There will be few 40 50 point wins, even against what would be considered bad AAA teams. It's just a whole different level, but time will show that. Looks like its a good district to start in for sure, could be a lot worse

DC could win that district easy but the region will be tough in 3A. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. There are teams that soften their schedules just to say that they won 20+ games

then lose when they have to play a well tested team. It sounds good to say that

your team is winning 20+ games. You get ranked any everything but everybody that

knows rankings mean nothing they are going by wins only not strength of schedule.

Just wanted to know what you guys were thought about that. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  5. Alright so two of our fans portrayed themselves as "thugs"----so what exactly does one do to portray themselves as "thugs" Is it the way they look? Or, is it the way they act? Lots of Dyer County people acted innappropriately also(see thread about cheerleaders) are they "portrayed" as "thugs" also? Believe me I understand how simple it is.

Simpleman. DC fans complains about things like that when they lose. They find anything to talk about

    as long as its not about them losing. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. It's to late in the season to get good at free throws your going to make them are miss them. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

    Next game they might make all of them. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Your going to have to work in the off season. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  7. His time will come next year when he is the best gaurd in the state, he is a very very good player!... but cant really put him up against John Jenkins right now. Solid Ball Player though.

take this into consideration though AA and AAA are two different types of basketball... Joe Jackson is facing better competition as well.

Jackson is a winner if his team needs a steal, rebounds, assist he will get it done

whatever it takes to win if he wanted to he could put up 35-40 every night. But he

    wants wins and is seeking that gold ball /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  8. Like Redbird, I think this one is too close to make any predictions. I never thought NSide would not be able to handle the pressure against DC. I do think Covington will handle DC's pressure better. I just know that the #3 guard can shoot lights out. And, #32 is a beast down low. I think this is going to be a super great game to watch. I just hope I am able to make it there. DC will need everyone to step up like they did against NSide. Should be well worth $5 bucks for the price of admission.

That #3 is one of the best shooter i have seen all year. like you said #32 is a beast

knows how to use is body well. this one is up in the air. This time of the year all games

    should be good.

  9. Covington, Jackson NS, Haywood, and Fayette Ware are all very good quality teams. Theses 4 teams have beat each other up all year. I believe they are all equal in talent. In my opinion, not putting any team down, I think the top three teams in 14 AA will prevail friday night. I hope DC will bring their A game friday night, because that is what it's going to take to prevail. Haywood is a very dangerous team. I like our chances at Home. It goes from 64 teams to 32 Feburary 28. Good luck and may the best teams win.

DC will be the only team that wins out of there district. Covington, NS and Fayette Ware will win there first round games.

  10. I think that they can do it. but if haywood is on fire like they were the last time we played them and beat them by 1 , then we might have an upset friday. But im still gonna put money that choctaws win. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

But if we make it to state, it will definatly be tough. havin young starters and getting a weak schedule this year.

I'm going with DC by 5. But who ever wins loses to Northside by 15. Good Luck /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Ok, its obvious the main point of my argument was missed..... YES, we all know people EVERYWHERE go to support winning teams.... my point is that I have rarely if ever seen more people be as hypocritical about they're loyalty and support of a SCHOOL (not just a single solitary team) in my life (and i've been around sport as a coaches son when they were state champs and when they struggled, player much like CJs case struggling early and being very sucessful later, coach of great teams and bad ones, and a fan)! !! Don't come on here or be out in public professing your love for your school and crying about how others treat your players unfairly by a vote but then you treat groups of YOUR OWN PLAYERS even more unfairly by ignoring them! Thats the basis of what i'm saying... in fact I'm defending a large group of DC people.... the lady choctaws (so once again dont call me a DC hater). I have not once accused DC of wrongdoing or even implied it! I have not once said those young men dont deserve every bit of success they are enjoying!! I have not once said one negative thing on here about McCord!!

... you see Mr. Yankee, and others, I'm for ALL KIDS that work hard and give their best... not just the ones that put Ws in the record books! We as adults really tend to focus too much on just winning and not LIFE! Prime example: How many of the 4 DC seniors from last year that went on to play on a college are "academically lacking" and either could not play or had to be removed at semester for grades? All four I do believe! So what does that say about how far just winning basketball games in high school will get you? And to tie it all together let me use this analogy:

The "fair weather fan" mentality will lead to a kid who played and if he grows up without a REAL plan and ends up back in Dbrug/Newburn or "anytown USA" with no degree or whatever.... since they are not "winning in life" the same way they were a few years back will the great fan base that loves(ed) them so much then go and buy them clothes, feed them, give them decent paying jobs? NOOOOOOOOOO. Does that analogy make sense to all of you intelligent enough to understand it? We need to teach the kids VALUES in all areas of life and I feel that we as a society are failing miserably and the actions of last night are a glowing example!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly wish these young men well and that they get back on track b/c from my experiences with them they are good kids and have the potential to be successful as adults.

AND FOR GOD SAKES PEOPLE DONT TAKE THIS AS A KNOCK OF COACH McCORD!!!! THIS IS NOT A KNOCK ON McCROD!!! THIS IS NOT A KNOCK ON McCORD! This is not a slick, tricky, backhanded, silver tounged way of blaming him. His job is to get them to win and try to teach them hard work (that should be used in all aspects) to be successful and he has certainly done that!

    Great Post the best I have ever seen on here. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. McCord isn't crying over not getting an award...at all. His concern is not for himself but the kids who play for him....he thought Hudson and Janes should have been on all district team and that is no secret. We leave 13AA having won the championship 3 years in a row....that speaks for itself.

You don't know McCord if you think he is not crying about that /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  13. I'm gonna have to argue with that statement. Go back and look at the teams we played last year and compare to this year. Pretty much the same schedule except for a few teams. But, the same results. We are 60-3 the last two years, pretty awesome, no matter how you slice it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> We can only play the schedule we are dealt. Look at Booker T and the schedule they play. It hasn't helped them to play the tuff schedule. We knocked them out two years in a roll. I promise you they don't want us again. Especially in our home court. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm getting alittle ahead of myself, but I'm just saying it doesn't always pan out to play a tuffer schedule. There is too many verables involved to blame a lose on a weak schedule. Because on any given night you can get beat, thats why you play the game. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm not saying you should schedule weak teams, you should play a hard schedule. Just don't believe that you can win a game over some team just because you played a tuffer schedule. That can get you in trouble. You need to play every game like it's your last. Which is very hard to get across to your players. Now, I believe in telling it like it is and the weakness on this team is FREE THROWS, and the youth on the team. We have got to get better at the charity line, and these freshmen are going to have to grow up fast, if we are going to make to the Boro. We are going to have to play smarter basketball.

DC was better when they beat Booker T. On a bad night they would not lose to Obion Co. 60-3 No state championship good record if thats what you play for. But no Gold Ball that has to stink.

  14. if OC shows up and plays to their capabilities- they'll be okay in this one.

The Rebs would rather go to Covington and take their chances than going to Jackson and have to deal with Mr.Basketball Finalist Casey Prather and the Indians. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I think they would have a better chance against Jackson North side you only have to stop one person.

  15. 15-3 and 7-0 in district and another win against Covington, they're looking like a state tournament team and I love it! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    LOL /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
