  1. I would like to congratulate Coach Scott. David and I grew up playing basketball together in Seymour. For at least four years I played for his dad who was one of the best coaches I've had. We also played together for a bit under Bill Duncan of Greeneville whom I also have a great deal of respect for. It's ironic that David's biggest win would come against his former mentor. I truly hope that Coach David Scott's position as Head Coach at JC becomes permanent.

Yes, Jeff Co. beat a Greeneville team that was without their 2 best players and it took them 4 OT's to win. There season would definitely be over if not for the Greeneville suspensions.

Their win against Cocke Co. was legit.

Jeff Co. has talent. They shoot the ball as good as anyone. The fact that they were 0-10 in the district in the regular season was a travesty.

Final tonight, Mo. East 56 Jeff. Co. 43.

  2. Gotta agree with earlier posts. Mike Wright from Morristown East is the real deal. Flatford from Cosby, in my opinion is also a close second. It's not always about wins and losses. These coaches I speak of have taken talent which is probably 2nd or 3rd place talent in their respective leagues and both are playing for district titles tonight. Two up and comers...Only gonna get better. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Gotta agree with Mike Wright. Great young coach and followed up the regular season title with the District Tournament title tonight. Also agree that he did it with probably 3rd place talent.

    Congrats to the Canes.

  3. What Mike Wright has done at Mo East is just amazing. He only has about 8 players that have bought in to his system, and the work ethic he demands, yet he has his team leading the IMAC in only his 2nd year. just imagine what he could do at a program with talent. No wonder Pigeon Forge won big under his tutelage. I predict he will be the next great coach in East Tennessee.

  4. Morristown East had a huge win against Greeneville last night. Coach wright has done a great job. Just think if Jordan Short had of stayed at M-E instead of transferring to Greeneville. There may be a new sheriff in town in the IMAC. Congrats Coach Wright.

  5. I do apologize for the error in the coach's name. However, the facts do remain the same. East is definitely NOT going to be the team to beat this year. I don't know who the kid is they are talking about; and, after the things you have said, I hope he is not identified here to save him any embarrassment. However, to me, if a kid is a "project", it is the sign of a truly good coach who can take that kid and make something out of him on the court. Anybody with that kind of height, even at 6'5", seems to be an asset to a team whose tallest player is 6'2", especially if he is a "good" kid. Apparently, Calvin Decker wasn't the coach to do that last year and neither is Coach WRIGHT. I just think it is a shame for the kid.

Not sure you are too credible since you don't even know the Coach's name at Mo East. First of all you need to check his resume. If you ask any knowledgeable coach in East Tennessee about your coach, you will find out he is highly thought of. As far as this year, anytime there is a coaching change you have some player attrition especially if they don't wish to work hard.

You have a proven coach who is willing to build a program if people like you would leave him alone. If you question his coaching ability, I suggest you attend a practice and watch him work. East will be in good hands but it will take time. Get rid of the "athletes" that aren't willing to work and work with the young kids that want to play. It will pay off in the long run I bet.
