  1. Owl, you jumping ship this late in the game? I would think the rain would work in MUS's favor. Wunderlich should be good for 2-3 FG's. If MUS D can keep doing what they do then MUS offense may only need to score one TD. Throw in a turnover and you have an Owl victory!

  2. Wow, I thought we were finally going to have an actual discussion about the DII AA championship game instead of endless talk about Ricky bowers and instead I get to read this ridiculous nonsense by a sore loser who's mad because his team isn't playing anymore. Sandlot, you can play travel ball too if you want to write the check. Otherwise go back to the DI boards and whine about how the DII schools took your best player....

  3. You're right pudding because no Memphis team has ever gotten a bad deal in a state title game now have they? I don't think it was the right call to toss bowers but I wasn't there and I'd guess you weren't either. But reading these posts implying the west TN refs don't know what they're doing is ridiculous....,I guess all crews from middle & east TN are perfect right?

  4. Apparently someone is about to lay some big $$$ on the MUS vs Ensworth title game....I just picked this little tidbit up in a Vegas chat room..." The plan was to eject Bowers only if MUS won but the MUS vs MBA game was so crazy that I couldn't get the texts to the ref straight. One minute I was like ok MUS just took the lead with 5 mins to go so get ready to run him and then I was like, oh crap, MBA is driving down the field with less than a minute to go and an extra pt will win it! So, it was everything I could do to get the news off to our boys in nashville just in time. I'm just so thankful that the Brentwood player became an unwitting accomplice and gave our boys a good reason to toss him. Can you imagine the conspiracy theories that would erupt on the message boards in TN if our boy just tossed him for the heckuva of it?"

  5. Ridiculous accusation by bullyDog! How would the officiating crew know that MUS had won their game with MBA? I don't know what happened at the ensworth game because I wasn't there but I guarantee you MUS would prefer to play Ensworth at full strength so no excuses could be made....

  6. Well after reading this article I would say it is pretty easy to figure out why they were ejected the officals were from Memphis and who do they play in the championship game, a Memphis University School. See link below!

    http://www.tennessean.com/article/20131123/SPORTS07/311230079/Ricky-Bowers-top-assistant-likely-miss-Ensworth-title-game?nclick_check=1

Here are a cuople of quotes from the article.

Ensworth is likely to be without coach Ricky Bowers and his top assistant for the Dec. 5 Division II-AA championship gameicon1.png against Memphis University School.

Childress said the game report submitted by Lloyd, head of the Memphis-based Mid-South Football Officials Association crew that was assigned to the contest, will be reviewed Monday and a final decision will be reached.

Anybody see any motive to these ejections.

  7. If MBA does dominate MUS it will be only because Colton Neel is out. MUS at full strength would make this the best game of the weekend- it may still be if MUS D steps up. BA already dominated Ensworth so you can't say that is best game scheduled. It sounds like some may be disrespecting MUS because of weak opponents in last few weeks but they can only play who's scheduled and those games were over by halftime with the JV playing rest of game. MUS did lose badly to BA in week 1 on road but they are a drastically different team now- I think 4 QBs may have played for MUS in that one. The game that stands out to me is MBA vs MCCALLIE where MBA won 38-34. I saw the MUS vs Mccallie game and granted mccallie was w/out QB but MUS was clearly the better team. Based on Mccallie line play & size I like MUS to match up well with MBA across the front. Not to say that MUS is as big as MBA but MUS does have good size across the front. So, MUS should be able to move the ball. I see a low scoring game with 3-4 FGs by MUS kicker. 19-14 MUS

  8. Ensworth earned the right to be considered the favorite with their regular season accomplishments. Neither team was tested last week- CBHS & Briarcrest were both bad football teams this year. So. I think it's an upset on paper but BA is clearly playing the better football right now.

  9. East is better than Ridgeway. Melrose was not that good this year so HC definitely had the better warmup. Ridgeway QB is good but you guys already know that....whitehaven had a shoot out with ridgeway this year but that's misleading because whitehaven was actually down this year...HC will have to play poorly to lose this one.

  10. I don't think MBA rolls over MUS just because Colton Neel is out...clearly he is the MVP but MUS has other options. Their run defense is strong- VOL cant attest to that.  I think this could be a low scoring affair with Wunderlich (the best kicker in this state and many other states) winning it for MUS with his magic foot.  But, if MUS can't slow down MBA's run game then VOL will be correct...

  11. Vol, you're ridiculous...I was at the MUS game as well and your comments couldn't be further from the truth. Mccallie never looked as though they were the better team. It was clear that MUS was rusty...they missed several wide open receivers and dropped 2 or 3 pick 6s...honestly it should've been a blow out by MUS. The only good drive mccallie put together came right after Colton Neel went out of the game with a broken ankle which temporarily deflated the owls. Personally, I thought Mccallie was a good team and would've loved to have seen them at full strength. Your whiny comments take away from what your boys did on the field. And, I noticed you didn't respond to the comment about MUS giving S Panola their only loss....

  12. I knew eventually someone with reason would post here...lol. It is one thing to root for your team, but this was over the top. I thought the Franklin fans were whacked out. I have tried to explain to them that all of the tough talk on a message board will have no affect on our players at all. They'll watch game film and figure out what they have to do to win. And on Friday night I think Indy will win. It is OK to root for your team, but having a little class while doing it never hurt. I will never refer to Millington as Memphis again per you wishes..lol. That was a funny statement. Contrary to all of the tough talk in this thread, we are still coming over to Me...oops sorry, Millington to play a football game on Friday. If they win then they are the better team. I will be rooting for my Eagles to make it to the Boro on the 8th.

I'll drive thru Nash... ooops, Thompson Station on my way to Murfreesboro next week.

  13. WOW! This thread got pretty entertaining tonight! A couple of observations, IHS fans, please don't refer to Millington as part of Memphis, because I am embarrassed by the representatives that the Trojans have on this board.

I guess Millington's coach let you guys out of practice early, and you have nothing productive to do? Like maybe study? Your grammar is really pitiful! And yes, this is a football message board, but in case you can't figure this out, it's really unlikely many of you will make $$ playing pro ball, so knowing how to speak somewhat properly could be advantageous to your future.

I was one of the local fans pulling for Millington to go all the way. But this batch of trash talk and totally classless attitudes by MHS players has turned me off to you. You notice how IHS isn't over here trash talking? MHS...you lack alot of class!

Hey Spartan, I am the one who pointed out that Millington is not in Memphis. I think it is silly to keep saying Memphis when Millington is a city in and of itself. However, we will be proud to represent West TN, Memphis included.

There is only one "suspected" current MCHS player posting on this board. I say "suspected" since it would be very easy to impersonate someone in cyberspace. If you look back, you will see I sent him a strong message to get off this board.

You must not have read the entire thread if you don't see IHS trash talking! I still can't believe their coach actually posted a response to some idiot's comments on how he disrespected the Franklin fans. I don't think any coach should ever legitimize a site like this by replying to some moron's comments. In the end, this is all meaningless fun. Nothing that is said here will have any affect on the outcome of the game.

Root for whomever you like but don't use the lame excuse that MCHS players are on here trash talking. I distinctly remember you talking earlier about how the Trojans showed good sportsmanship last week. Nothing has changed since then. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

  15. hey dumb ###### maybe if u could read u woulda seen that i said i play a lot on special teams and some on defense im not the best player on the team so u wont see the three pics or td most likely but u must feel really smart with ur little sarcastic remarks but rest assured u will see the performance of ur life friday night not from indy but from millington ull just have to wait and see im not gonna keep talkin bout it ull just see

Kesler, get your butt off this board and start worrying about the game friday night! This site is for fans not players. Players do their talking on the field.

  16. I don't ever worry about any chump who shows up on coacht with 2 posts. Maybe all this Memphis mouthing will wear all of them out by Friday.

For the umpteenth time, Millington is not in Memphis! It is about as far from Memphis as Thompson's Station is from Nashville. A quick check on google will tell you that it is approx a 30 min drive form Millington to Memphis and I see that it is about a 32 min drive from Thompson's Station to Nashville. So, unless you want to be called Nashville boys every post, stop calling Millington Memphis!

  17. How well has the defensive secondary for Millington played all year? Indy has a strong passing attack as well as a good run game, so if Millington stacks the box to stop the run all night, it would seem that they would be left vulnerable to the pass. That is, unless they have four studs in the secondary.

Millington won't stack the box. They will man up and simply out play Indy. The secondary is not big but extremely fast and ,let me tell you, the earlier post about the hard hitting DB's is right on the money. I am still impressed every game I attend at how hard these kids hit. It's amazing! I truly enjoy watching them as a football fan, not just a Millington fan.

I spoke to some WS people over the weekend and they were still just amazed at the speed and tenacity of the Trojans. I think Indy has some studs on the team so they may keep it closer than WS but it appears that most of the studs play both ways. This won't bode well for the Eagles in the 2nd half.

  18. Not-so-innocent-bystander-

I'm almost speechless, but I'll try to pull something together just for you.

Please bring a paper bag to the game so you can put it over your head when we spank that tail...And make sure it reads "I'm the biggest idiot in the whole state of TN".

    Thanks for playing...

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

A tale of a fateful trip

That started from this message board,

    awash with simple quips.

The mate was a mighty wailin' man,

The IHS Skipper not so sure,

Five or six eagle fans set sail that day

    to witness the millington blur.

    A speedy millington blur....

    The trojans started getting rough,

    The tiny eagles were tossed.

If not for the compassion of the slaughter rule,

at halftime the game would be lost.

    At halftime the game will be lost! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  19. Well I'm not taking away from Millington, but you had to have some 4th quarter heroics against Whitehaven and the WS collapse just doesnt add up...but hey you are in the Semis but I just think that boasting about a rout will fire Indy up and you may be surprised about the outcome. We beat arguably the number 1 D in the state, according to many people after a shellacking in week 4, so Indy knows hoe to win when it counts. You are a great team, but taking away from our accomplishments will only hinder your team on the field come Friday Night because I'm sure if you asked anyone they would say Indy wants this BAD and I mean BAD. I will say good luck to both teams on Friday Night, it should be an AMAZING game.

the sad reality is that the State Championship game was probably played last week at Millington when they beat Whitehaven 17-13.

    Millington 28, Independence 14Book it.

way too conservative! Millington 56 Independence 10.
