Again, this is why this sounds like garbage. Why would Ralph Nelson ever want to play second fiddle to Carter at a job where he would be taking a pay cut? This is this most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Ralph does NOT like Carter since Carter ran up the score on him the past few years, and anyone who watched the exchange they had after the East South game will testify to that. There is NO WAY he would leave his family and tenure at East to go be Carter's little errand boy

Hey, former blazer. I just wondered if maybe you wanted to apologize to me for basically calling me an idiot in the above post back in December. Kinda looks like our info was dead on. I guess maybe there was a WAY after all, huh? In the future, you might want to be just a little nicer when you don't know what you're talking about. :o

  3. I can't even begin to express the sadness that has overwhelmed my heart this week - sadness for Jake's family, teammates, friends, coaches, teachers, for all those who knew him or were touched by his life, including those at Knox West and in other football communities across the country. But I am not sad for Jake, for Jake has gone Home, to be with his beloved Jesus. I am sad for all of us left behind because we will miss Jake, and in missing him, will ache. But Jake hurts no more. He is in the Blessed Arms of his Lord, and I'm sure, smiling that great Jake smile! Because Jake now is experiencing what the rest of us can only imagine...

"I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side.

I can only imagine what my eyes will see, when Your face is before me.

Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?

Will I dance for You, Jesus, or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your Presence, to my knees will I fall?

Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all?

I can only imagine, I can only imagine...

I can only imagine when that day comes, and I find myself standing in the Son.

I can only imagine when all I will do is forever, forever worship You.

I can only imagine. I can only imagine"*

Jake no longer has to imagine...he knows the Glory of Jesus. And he will be waiting to greet each of his loved ones as they join him. Until that day, you will all be in my prayers. God bless.

  4. Is South still being broadcast on internet radio anywhere.....link by chance? The googler doesn't seem to find anything nor does the search feature.

    TIA

We were told by Knox West High School that the will be showing live video of the game on the following website: www.knoxivi.com I have no idea how reliable this info is, but we are going to check it out, since we can't go. Safe game to all. GO SOUTH!!!

  5. I hate to get on here and possibly stir up a whole new hornet's nest, but I have a question about some of last year's boys. Could someone give me an update as to what is going on with Bradley and Taylor? Heard some rumors that they are playing college hopscotch. What's up with that? I know for sure that Bradley changed schools, did Taylor change also? What were their reasons, does anyone know? Also, is anyone else from last year's class playing for a college? If so, who and where? Apparently I've really been out of touch over the summer cuz it looks like I've missed a lot!

  6. Personal note:

I have a little cousin from up there who due to illness, is unable to play football this year. Morgan Edwards is a member of the Sullivan South football team. Morgan has been through a lot this year. I spoke with him yesterday and he has some surgery scheduled this week at the Cleveland Clinic and will be unable to attend the game Friday. He had really wanted to come to the game, but this surgery had been scheduled for sometime in advance.

I asked Morgan what he wanted me to pray for this week and he said, "That the Good Lord will guide the hands of my surgeons and I will have a good recovery and may all the players in the Sullivan South-Maryville game play to the best of their abilities and be injury free." So that is my prayer too..........

Thank you for including this. Morgan is an amazing young man. He has been through some trials that would test the best of us, not only with his illness, but a horrible car wreck (truck rolled several times, bruises only, thank God) and then the loss of a close friend as well. What he has had to handle would try the mettle of most grown men, but he has continued to show a grace and strength of spirit far beyond that of men twice his age. He was a defensive force to be reckoned with his junior year, and although no longer able to play (and sorely missed), is still a leader on the team. He attended most, if not all, practices, work-outs, etc. and continually encouraged his team with his positive and upbeat attitude. He was elected a team captain and led them onto the field at every game. He can be seen at every game, on the sidelines pumping up the team, in the stands leading the students' cheers, in the booth giving color commentary. His spirit is unstoppable and unflagging, and GOD given. If Morgan has requested the above prayer, then I would ask each one of you, no matter what school you are from or what team you support, to make it your prayer too. I know I am. Thank you.

  7. The Rebs have enough of an up hill battle to fight with out people like you(from thier own conference not giving them thier support). Look at couch and cap they continue to support the Rebs, I know that it is hard to pull for some one when they have beaten you recently, but that is where CLASS shows.

I wiil continue support any team from Region 1 that is in the playoffs, Hampton, South, and Bearden. I hope that all three bring home those "gold balls" /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Thirdly '04 was in the past nobody on either team is going to care what happen then, all these players are playing for the NOW.

Thanks Ghost! Some folks out there act like just cuz we're from Pactolus means we ain't got no smarts. We are all more than aware of Maryville's prowess. But what are we supposed to do, roll over and play dead? Not gonna happen! Our team will go down there and give them our very best game, and win or lose, we will leave with our heads held high. What we don't need is a bunch of people telling us how bad we're going to get whupped. We are well aware of the possibility. We just choose to ignore it and BELIEVE. If you choose not to, and you are not from Maryville, why don't you keep your negativity to yourself? We have no use for it! Thanks to all those from NET who do support us!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  8. please note that most if not all of the trash talking about "Maryville in a blowout" is coming from your upper east Tennessee rival schools and not true red rebels fans. I can promise you we are expecting a fight. Hope you have a safe trip & see you next Friday night.

Oh, I am well aware of where the trash is coming from... and was only replying to the ones from NET who we would hope are supporting us. Most are, a few aren't. We are definitely looking forward to the "fight" /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />. Thanks for the well wishes, and I, in return, wish a safe game to all your players. Until Friday......

Maryville in a blow out. Even with Curt Phillips, the South Rebels dont stand a chance. They will get out coached and will get out played.

Sorry guys but you know thats how it will go -- look what happened to us in 2004.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, this is not 2004 and second, our team is not you.

No one thought lil' ol' Appy State could beat powerhouse Michigan either, ... no one except the boys from Boone. And they BELIEVED.

    WE BELIEVE...............do you? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  10. I still feel Maryville is riding a bit too high and might be ripe for an upset.....perhaps Curt can continue to rally his Rebels for another big game.....as fellow disrespected Upper East Tennessee fans I think its about time to let them know the state doesn't end at Dollywood....GO SOUTH REBELS.

Thanks for the support barb. It takes a lot of class to support a team that just ended your season. I wonder if the South fans would have been able to do the same had the situation been reversed. I'ld like to think so.....

Good luck to Hampton and South - let's do NET proud.

On another note, the South-Maryville game will be a real nightmare for those who don't approve of the Rebel flag, don't you think??? /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />
