  1. HAHA I never said Elizabethton was in the same class as DB or Science Hill, I said they played up so I??™m not sure what you mean. And the year your referring to as a bad year for Cloudland included going undefeated in the regular season, two players winning Mr. Football awards, and a conference championship. That??™s sounds like a pretty good year to me. Besides that the team that upset them in the first round advanced to the semi finals that year so that wasn??™t as bad as everyone thought plus they were a private school that recruits their athletes. Johnson County beat Elizabethton last year and Hampton beat Johnson County by two or three touchdowns so I don??™t see how you could say Hampton wasn??™t the better team? GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. HAHA /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> actually i think the sharp shooting of the long horns had alot more to do with JC handing it to us than playing the Cyclones the night before. I watched JC play Etown and JC's point guard could have stayed out foul trouble they would have beat Elizabethton and when they head to Mountian City they will be coming home with a loss. Im really not sure how saying a player is just a sophmore is negeative or putting some one down haha and if your trying to say experiance dont matter with that "your a good player no matter what your age" comment your crazy. There is a huge difference is playing in JV one year and varsity the next the pace is much faster. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!
  3. See thats the point of the classificatons, you get placed by the number of students that you have enrolled in your school. I would hope Elizabethton would do good in 3 A they would have alot more kids than any other school in the class haha. Elizabethton is just a bad 4 A school admit it. They cant play with big time programs at their level so they have to talk about how much better they would be if they could go down a class. Mike Luncsford actually had a great 4 year run at Cloudland with Byrd and his supporting cast and is one of the best football minds in this area. As a matter of fact i watched Cloudland's JV football team dismantle the cyclones football team Mark Byrd's sophmore year and for some reason the Cyclones didn't wanna play the landers anymore after that night. I guess its better to play up a class to DB and Science Hill and get smashed than play down a class to Hampton or Cloudland and get smashed. As for the games Hampton lost in the playoffs i am 100% sure that any of the teams the put us out in the three years we went to the semi finals would have beat Elizabethton by three or four touchdowns
  4. Well first of all your stats are wrong because Hampton swept Elizabethton last year and thats a fact. The first time we played the cyclones was the football players first game back and they played horrible that game. As for your two sport athletes the Elizabethton football season usually ends rather early so that shouldn??™t hurt the bball team. I attended some of the AAU games that you are referring to when you say our sophomores play year round basketball and I witnessed them dismantle a team that was loaded with cyclones including Ryan Thomas. And I said that Hughes saw the light and transferred to Hampton so I am aware that we wouldn??™t have him if he hadn??™t transferred haha. And as far as football goes Hampton is a single A school by the number of students we have enrolled. Elizabethton hasn??™t had the best football team in Carter County in years so how do you figure they would be on maryville and alcoa??™s level if they could move down hahahaha I hope you??™re not serious with that comment. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!
  5. Hey now don??™t pick on Etown lord Vader don??™t you remember the first big win Hampton got? We were pretty excited too and that sorry excuse for a football program gets all the funds so hey they do what they can with what they have. Hampton was forced to play a lot of the game without Hughes, who by the way would be starting for Elizabethton if he hadn??™t seen the light and went to Hampton, and that cost us dearly. The Bulldogs also turned the ball over way too much in the fourth quarter due to our inexperience. We also cost our selves some potential lay ups when we couldn??™t convert on some good passes in the fourth. I??™m just not sure that you can call us not catching the ball cleanly good defense on Elizabethton??™s part. And for Hampton this is basically just another game. There is no denying that Elizabethton was more fired up about this game more than Hampton was. The Elizabethton game has become just another out of conference game for us because we beat them so regularly. Hampton has a huge target on its back because of our success on the football field and a great deal of success on the hard wood and Elizabethton has faded to that high school across the road from wall mart. Plus we are playing five or six sophomores every night and we are getting better every game. I think you will see a different Bulldog basketball team when you come through the double bridges. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!
  6. Oh, the coach t score board had the creekers getting beat by 16. Sorry I didn??™t actually attend the battle for last place in the conference haha. So congratulations on the win over the power house known as North Green.
  7. Yeah I don??™t think Elizabethton is that good either. If we can handle that ball pressure and our big men play we should get the W. One big key is going to be Hughes handling the pressure of going back to the school that he transferred to Hampton from. I??™m sure there will be a lot of jealous cyclones in the student section and they are sure to stay on him all night. But, the kind of kid he Is I don??™t think he will let it get to him it should be a good game to watch. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!
  8. Me and Lord Vader graduated from Hampton together and pretty much everyone on the site knows who he is and when your from God??™s country (Hampton) its cuts you deep when someone accuses you of being from Stoney Creek so please don??™t do it again. By the way congratulations to all the creekers on the big loss against North Green last night hahahahahahahahaha. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Should be a pretty good game. I heard Elizabethton man handled UH, but I think if we would have had Hill and Andrews we might have done the same. If those two don??™t play its going to be a big adavantage for Elizabethton. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!
  10. It??™s crazy that Hampton teams are winning by 50 and beating conference rivals without our best post players that some people are still complaining about coaching. We are very lucky to have one of the best coaches in the area on the girl??™s bench and a TSSAA hall of famer on the boy??™s bench. I know every parent wants their child to succeed but this isn??™t youth club basketball. Our coaches need to put the best team on the floor and they are doing that and we are winning. I could see the complaining if we were loosing but we are winning haha. Come on folks lets not turn into Unaka High School and run off coaches that are highly successful. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!
  11. Hampton has a very strong sophomore class. Jacob Jones is going to be an outstanding point guard and is getting valuable playing time on varsity this season. Nathaniel Hughes is also going to be a good player. He really wants to get better and is working all the time and can play a lot of different positions on the floor. Dylan Ward is developing into a good player and a very valuable scorer for the Bulldogs. He is already showing great leadership and great ability at the varsity level. Wes Hornsby has also played well for us so far this year. He is a big man who can get rebounds and will give the dawgs a great second option in the post. Dylan Hill is about 6??™3??™??™ or 6??™4??™??™ and is going to be a defensive presence blocking shots and an offensive presence in the post. He has a pretty good shooting touch and his presence will make the three guards better and give them open looks. This team could have a very bright future. They seem to be a group that wants to get better and that will work at it. Look for this group to make a deep run into the 1A state tournament in the next two years. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!

  13. Hampton has a young but pretty solid team this year. They are really fun to watch, they push the ball, they play really hard and they are coached extremely well. I think they are going to contend with the Cloudland for the conference later in the year but I think Cloudland is the top team right now. Hampton always has five girls on the floor that can score, there is no offensive liability on the floor at anytime for this team like there has been in past years. Lady dawgs should get it done tonight in Brooks Gym. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!
  14. Unicoi County has a very nice gym that not many people win in besides the Blue Devils. I don??™t think they have lost a conference game in ???the devils den??? in two or three years. The student section is behind one of the back boards so it makes it really hard to shoot there if you??™re not used to it. The gym also has plenty of seating for fans. Definitely one of the better gyms in this area.
  15. I agree, Cloudland is a horrible place to play. There is only one side of seats so fans from rival teams are right beside each other and it always seems like its about 110 degrees in there by the time the varsity games start and if your not there by the time the boys jv game is over you will be standing.
  16. I agree with Lord Vader on this one. Hughes and Ward are great players and will continue to get better as the season goes on but they can??™t do it by themselves. Hill and the other post players need to get even more shots when they are posted and in a good position for a potential lay up. I think anyone would rather have a big man shoot a lay up than a guard shoot a mid range jump shot. The guards are getting plenty of touches and getting the ball to the post and creating a presence inside is only going to give them better looks and take some of the defensive pressure off of them. I think the players will learn and get better every game and become a much better team by the end of the season. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!
  17. Thats a really good point about Justin Bentley. There was alot of games last year were Hampton doesn't come out with the W without his play and it seemed like everytime he came to bench he was getting his head ripped off over something when he deserved a little more credit. Dont get me wrong, the Hampton High School staff is great. Coach White is a TSSAA hall of famer and knows much more about the game than i ever will but some players just dont respond well to constant criticism.
  18. Hampton High School basketball has a very bright future. Look at the group of sophomores we put on the floor that are competing with juniors and seniors every night. Sure, these players make some mistakes because they are young but they play harder and care more about the success of the team than any upper classman on the team and that is a fact. But, I do think that we are expecting way too much of them at this point. Dylan Hill is around 6??™5??™??™ and is going to develop into a great player. He has the body of a senior but I think what people have to realize, coaches and fans, is that mentally he is still only a sophomore. Its tough for a kid like Dylan Hill to go from playing freshman basketball and Junior varsity one year then starting on varsity the next and you have to remember that when Dylan Hill was playing against kids his own age in freshman games last year he was virtually unstoppable. Dylan Hill??™s improvement from the beginning of last year to the end of last year was remarkable. In the early season he was timid and by the end of the year he was much more aggressive and taking advantage of mismatches. Hill is going to be a phenomenal big man who will be a key part of what I think could be a deep state tournament run in two years when Hill, Jones, Hughes, Ward and Hornsby are seniors. Hill was essentially the only player that even looked decent against the devils. Hill and Hornsby have played pretty well the last three games for just a couple of sophomores still feeling out the speed and pressure of a varsity game. I think this year is going to be a learning curve for this group and instead of criticizing a select few of them all the time they need to be sat down and taught the system better and encouraged more so we don??™t burn them out on basketball and ruin what could be a very special group. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!
  19. Your defense never stopped Hampton last year Hampton only stopped themselfves so how can you say we are not even close to being the best team you all played last year? I am not saying we were better than tyner nor were we better than sp but give us the respect we deserive!
  20. There is one thing I don??™t understand about stoney creek and that is the more you loose the more they love you and the more you win the more they hate you. I mean look at coach snavley he has had no success what so ever and the creekers love him for some unknown reason and then coach chambers has great seasons and everybody wants him gone. Haha it just doesn??™t make any sense at all and I LOVE IT.
  21. I really feel sorry for Donald Ensor because he was so close to getting out of that hole..... oops I mean school when he was heading to Boone but then that fell through so now he is stuck coaching the worst football team carter county has ever seen and the basketball program that he built is in shambles hahahahahahaha. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. Your son embarrasses him self enough on the football field and the basketball court so why do you continue to embarrass him even more on coach t?
  23. Unaka basketball is sinking and there is no end in sight. The players would rather go snow boarding than get in the gym and get better. The head coach doesn??™t want to be there with the players he has now. The parents hate the JV coach and for some reason he is staying on board while other coaches are told they not needed anymore. This program is in total disarray. I remembered when you won at Snavley gymnasium it was one of the biggest wins of the season and now its just another game. Stick a fork in em there done.
  24. Your Rebels will be able to score with them. They never stopped Hampton we just stopped our selves with penalties that got us into 3rd and long situations that we wasn??™t able to convert. SP??™s defense is lackluster but there offensive is another story. Get a stop or two, execute on offense and you team has a really good chance of bringing the gold ball home.
  25. I agree with you 100 %. If you turn the ball over against this SP team you get beat end of story.
