  1. Just curious but what colleges are looking? I do think that Seth has more upside than anyone else in the district at this point.

At this point I have heard UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Lipscomb, UNA, UAH , Bryan College, Maryville,Swannee,Union,Freed Hardeman. That's right now. Right now I believe that over half of these teams have attended a game to watch. I would like to see this open opportunities for other players. Some situations where scouts are looking at one player and stumble upon another that might not get the same looks. That would be the best case scenario. Seth will only attend 1 of these schools, obviously. If another school finds a player when they come to watch Seth, well that would be awesome. Like the Edney kid needs to play somewhere after Highschool. And probably 3 of the 5 starters from C-Wood.

  2.

Wow if you really think i was going to say that Justin Edney should win District MVP then you are sadly mistaken. Watching both games tonight i would have to say either Zack Risner or Sawyer Ray from Wayne County and Logan Montgomery or Hunter Andrews from Collinwood are in the hunt for it. NO WAY is Seth Wright as good as y'all think, Risner completely DOMINATED Wright tonight, Wright can't play when someone is behind him his jump hook looks the same as it did back in Middle School. Either way Wayne County destroyed Summertown 63-49 and led by as many as 19. Good Luck to Wayne County against Collinwood.

As many as 19? Which game were you watching. Risner dominated down low? They played 2-3 zone all night and when they were in man they triple teamed him. Dominated. The only thing the dominated was the boards. Summertown got out rebounded by probably 20 tonight. Risner and the other big guy was in foul trouble before halftime. Domination??? Hahaha it's fine though congratulations to WC! Beat Collinwood!!!! You guys have a very well coached team. Can't wait for round 3 of Loretto and Summertown!

He might be just a player on the team..but I can promise you when opposing coaches game plan for summertown they are not worried about their guards no matter what grade they are in...Bottom line eagles will go as far as he takes them...is he doesn't show up to play they lose

You are correct, He is the leader of this team. If they win, it will be a team win, and if he doesn't show up and they lose, i'm hoping it will be considered a team lose and not someone calling names and making it look like one player lost the game

I agree with this post. I think WC will put 3 guys on him Summertowns guards may have to carry them tomorrow night. I like the Loretto Collinwood game. I'm calling a close one there. Lets just all show up tomorrow and watch the games and see what happens. Does anyone know what times the games are when in what order they will be played?

  4. They are a 3 guard team with horrible discipline. They refuse to rebound and refuse to use the big men. They have a 6'8" and a 6'6". How many teams in the state singleA do you see with that size? Much less a team supposedly has the best coaching in the district. I would venture to say that that summertown basketball team is getting out scored on second chance points 10-1. Tonight against Forrest they went 3 minutes without getting the ball up the floor. Forrest pressed and won because of summertowns inability to control the tempo of the game. What baffles me is how this team goes from 7-0 to probably the 3rd worst team in the district. ????

  5. District 12a usually is pretty tough and some great competition but seems to be down this year with the exception of Perry County, Can anyone contend with them as they look to win the district for a 3rd straight year

Summertown doesn't have the highpowered O that people are use to seeing from them in the past, but they are still threatening from a competitive stand point. They have 2 players that can score but they still find a way to win ballgames. They are 10x's better this year on the boards and on D. They held a very good Springhill team to 50 points in a game which predicted to be high scoring. I think Perry Co. Is the favorite but the Summertown PC game should continue to produce a thriller.

  6. I say 15....Hampton's speed will have em worn out by the 4th...

apparently you dont know anything of summertowns athletisism, they are the quickest team i have ever watched play the sport, and with bubba clifton dribbling through every defender hampton better bring Defense!!!!

  7. You knew the odds Glazed. They were astronomical. LOL

I do want to make one correction to Chris's post. Summertown has 5 seniors: Bubba Clifton, Neylan Franks, Zack Long, Eli Matthews, and Jared Wright. Eli and Bubba were both fortunate enough to play at Murphy Center as sophomores. Bubba was the starting point guard and Eli came off the bench and played beyond his experience.

Jared Wright also got playing time in the State Tournament during his sophmore year.

  8. Many years overdue, Summertown and Lawrence County will play each other for the first time in what seems like forever. This game is Friday night @ 6:00 p.m.at Lawrenceburg. Look forward to a great crowd and great atmosphere. What are your thoughts about the game?

Should be a great game. IF summertown doesn't get outrebound as bad as they did against Spring Hill Summertown should win. I think that Summertown could run with anybody but they have alot of trouble on the glass. Can't wait to see it.

  9. I agree with you 100% mom, and grendal has a point about Trotter, but Coach Moore knows these boys, and I know they will play hard and give 120% for him. We have a team with real potential to go far this year, and Moore is the one they will do it for. They want him, the parents want him, hes a local boy born and raised, and I too think it will raise attendance at the games. Money Money Money. Admin?? Will you listen to your parents and players? Will you do whats best for your students and our area, or will you bury your head in the sand and continue to hold a grudge?

I agree, Coach Young would be the best choice for the team.

Not really sure that Trotter wants the job or not.

I dont think he would work as hard with them as he does for Summertown.

  10. Summertown has been an underdog every since there mid season slump where they were beat bye forrest and wayne county. I honestly think that people are extrememly overlooking them. I honestly don't know if they are the best team left in it but they are a great underdog. People who have over looked them have been shocked. I think that if Temple Doesn't come ready to play then Summertown Could possible run them out of the gym. But Close Game either way. Go Summertown. Keep Playing Hard.

  11. That was the worst wide open dunk I have ever seen. I honestly don't even think it was a dunk. I was expecting alot more. He had nobody on his half of the floor. lol Maybe he could get a good powerful dunk down if he would quit goofing off so much in warm ups. It was honestly more like a lay up.

  12. I agree totally! The subs on the Lady Mustangs will not continue to get better if they don't have game experience. That is part of the process of paying dues as underclassmen, you don't get to play very much but you expect to play when you team is in a blow out. Good point 4 mustangs.

  13. I know the kid. His name is Jarred Wright. He is good. He maybe the X factor that sends summertown over the top this year. He just needs to work on footwork. I am sure that Coach Trotter will have him ready to go by the time the season starts.

  14. The mustangs played very well tonight. I hope that our boys can continue their great play against Rogers, AL.

The mustangs hit the ball very well and played great defense.

The game ended on a great play by Derek Boston at First Base.

    Great job last night boys!!!

  15. Loretto defeated Springhill tonight at Loretto, 8-5.

Clint Wright was the winning pitcher going the hole game.

The Loretto Mustangs Improve to 5-1 in district play.

Looked like a totally different team out there tonight, they hit the ball well. Heath Daniels and Clint Wright both hit huge Homeruns!!
