  1. Manassas has nothing to lose. Everybody is thinking UC will win. who you got. Purple said that University looked good Manassas didnt. Well Manassas just killed US by 41. Purple what do you think now. Manassas still aint played there best ball

UC has dominated greatly throughout the season and now in the state tourney, after putting up 101 against moore county, i dont see manassas getting past them

poor manassas having to play jackson county first, this will equal in a sloppy game by manassas

    UC by 10

  2. Tennessee Temple has a great shot in the state tournament. They guard very well, can shoot the three ball, have the best player in the state in Jeremy Sexton, and they are all JUNIORS!!! Can they repeat????

i am a CSAS who actually would like to see temple repeat, region 3 is always a pretty good region who could send 3 teams each year to the tourney (if possible)

since CSAS got put out by Jackson county i would hope that UC and manassas get put in opposite sides of the bracket and see Temple play JC first, i think Temple can go again but it will take more than Sexton to do it kemp really needs to step too

  3. YOU of all people are accusing someone of not being used to a "very poised and led team"? Aren't you the one that said CSAS's girls would not only compete with but beat C'range's girls? YOU must live in the fantasy that there isnt anyone else that can beat your teams. I thought maybe reality would have set in for you at halftime when your team was down 34-9 but guess not. I bet if CSAS loses you will be no where to be found! 5 hours 20 min till game time can't wait!! If JC plays their game they WILL win no if ands or butts about it! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

you are the exact same way folk! you say that even though your team is 17-16 it doesnt matter what the record is like your team is going to win if they were 0-35, it dont make any sense, how you believe that, although CSAS is 27-5 they're still the underdogs? state runner up last year but were still the underdog in everygame? im just saying give CSAS respect, i already gave you respect for gettin to where you are but were you in that spot last year? i dont remember jackson county men making it to the boro?

it was expected of CSAS to get back to a substate game, but then were underdogs?

  4. Very true. Makes no difference what a team does thru-out the season, but rather what they do when the tournament begins. It's going to be a real tough game but I think that the Blue Devils are going into this game BELIEVING that they can win. And that's part of the battle right there. The rest depends if they can do what they do best. Protecting the ball, run when the opportunity arises, shooting the TREY and playing team Defense. JC has made great strides since I seen them play in the District tournament. And I am pulling for the Blue Devils to take that next step and I'm sure all of the surrounding UC schools are as well. Good Luck to Coach Flynn and Coach Godwin.

wait... you think JC is coming into the game BELIEVING they can win, there is there first fault right there! it should have been a thought on there mind before the first tip off ever happened this season, if there just now believing they can win the experience of CSAS and leadership will pick them apart!

jackson county 17-16! haha doesnt look good for them boys, the men of CSAS(27-5) have been thinking about that Gold ball since they lost a chance to have it last year against temple! that was when they wanted it the most and now its there drive this season, to bring Chattanooga school for the arts and sciences what they deserve!!

  5. Thank you for your sincere condolences. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Didn't they lose #3 off of last years team? What was his name? I am pretty sure he was a senior and he was probably the best player on the team last year for sure one of the best. Left handed kid if i remember right. JC has accomplished alot more than people thought they would but not more than the TEAM thought it would. They win the game but this one is much tougher than their last one. JC can beat you more than one way as well. They won't get beat by the Patriots press and should shoot alot of layups off of it because they don't do alot of dribbling they pass it and as we all know thats the way you beat the press but you're right CSAS does a great job with their press and can give any team fits! Alot of unselfish players on JC's team as well. You leave one of them and the other one will bury the three in your eye. The home court is huge in this game and will be the deciding factor in JC's victory on their way to the state tourney. Ya'll have a safe trip! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

the guy you are thinking of is brandon craven, he was a shooting guard and no he defly wasnt the best person on the team, the best was a junior last year dontay Hampton, and he is back stronger and better this team has been playing together for a long while, they know each's every move! obviously your not used to a very poised and led team, by a senior point guard(D1)

i really dont feel like typing everything else so tonight CSAS: 68 Jackson County:62

  6. This is the same idiot that predicted CSAS's girls would win 62-55 over Clarkrange you people really dont' have a clue do you! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Halftime score for you Tdaddypat: Clarkrange Girls 34 CSAS 9 Thats right 9 points! What an idiot! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> The JV teams mopped up the rest of the way. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

idiot? for thinking the girls team from CSAS might win, when you make a prediction its a might!

any team can show up! Clark Range was a good team, i just wanted CSAS to win because it was there first year there! ever! and i was at the game, and JV didnt come in till 2 minutes to go in the 4th period

  7. I am with "tdaddypat"! The only way way Jackson County beats CSAS is if the refs make them play with one hand tied behind their back, their shooting hand.

Patriots win this one big at Jackson County and dash JC's short lived hopes against the rocks.

JC seniors should go ahead and prepare themselves for their very last ever high school basketball game. Good thing for you guys it will be at home where you can get plenty of consolation from all your fans, family, and friends.

Just go ahead and bend over and take your whipping like men because the Pats are on the way to give you all an old fashioned, behind the barn, thrashing. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

    yes!!!

there is at least one other person that understands the CSAS mens team is for real

people didnt believe last year and they went to the final! Again this year they travel to a weak jackson county team to show the rest of tennessee that were for real

  8. I have seen them play, and look out Clarkrange. The game will be at CSAS as far as i know, and let me tell you from personal expierence, that is one of the hardest gyms to play in in this whole side of the State! My advice to all you Clarkrange girls is to not under-estimate these girls, no matter how good you are! They are very physical and the play an on the run style

GOOD LUCK and God bless you all

yes it is very hard to play in the patriots gym!

i really dont know much about Clarkrange but i do know that with home vourt advantage CSAS pulls out a close one i say 62-55

  9. if temple is as good as everyone say they are and i think they are for them to beat grace play close to csas and then beat csas then they will destroy westmoreland. I saw them play last night and the whole time I was trying to figure out how they made it to refion finals

ya i see Temple beating this team bad! westmoreland 12-9 wont be able to handle sexton and kemp i mean there good, im a CSAS fan, so i kinda know first hand watching them, i think both Temple and CSAS represent the scenic city in they state tourneymy prediction for the game:

    Temple-70

    Westmoreland-51

  10. Do you have a plan B when we break your press and shoot layup after layup? Don't worry JC will bring their A game you just bring yours and may the best team win how's that? If CSAS can't beat Temple then i don't like their chances AT JACKSON COUNTY! Ya'll think you're just gonna come up here and waltz to a victory? Our guards are VERY good we play 4 of them with one power forward. We love the press and we're hoping that CSAS brings it because we will shoot layups off of it!!! They have played alot better teams this year than CSAS i promise you that! Unlike their girls CSAS has a very good boys team no doubt BUT they aren't on the level of Livingston Academy, Station Camp, Cookeville, Palm Beach Fla etc.. JC proved they can win without the 3 when they played Pickett. They only hit 3 of them all night and still won by 11!!! This team is on a roll right now, why i have no clue but they are ROLLIN and each game they just keep getting better and better its unbelieveable. Keep looking at their record and thinking you're coming up here to face a weak team i can't wait till Monday!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

wow its kinda funny that a jackson county team 17-16! thinks there going to beat a CSAS team 27-5

undeafeated against AA (4-0) and AAA(2-0) schools and another lose of the patriots came from a AAAAA Georgia team who went to there state final last year, that lose was only 76-89!

CSAS has scored 2,409 points to there opponents 1,712, jackson county on the other hand has only scored 1,961 to there opponents 1,916,

if my math is right thats 448 more points scored.

jackson county defly doesnt play a harder scheduale than CSAS, the patriots played last years state champions 3 times total ,winning 2 times, and to be undefeated against AA, AAA teams, thats impressive

jackson county 3-5 against AA 0-3 against AAA

livingston academy raped you all 77-47 the first time and 80-69 the second!

i will give it to you that station camp is good but they killed yall and have never played CSAS so that not a legit point my friend

come on CSAS will be fine in this game, i look to a CSAS blow out if jackson cant stop the speed and depth of CSAS

P.S. CSAS girls are hosting there sectional game... where did you get your info that they wernt good also?

  11. These boys have accomplished more than anyone thought they would this year. They surprised Pickett Co. and they might just surprise you too. I'm sure those teams are great, but games this time of year have to be taken one at a time so don't just overlook JC. Also, does the gym at E. 3rd St. not have 10 ft. goals? Or is the floor concrete? Why wouldn't they want to play there? A gym is a gym. They have proven that they do not get intimidated. Good try though. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

seeingas how you all have never played CSAS in there gym then i wouldnt be quick to say you dont get intemidated, yes they have 10 ft goals and the floor is concrete, but the intemidation part doesnt come till you set foot in the gym yourself, im not saying your not good enough to beat them there im just saying that it will be hard, very hard

  12. Whereas I don't like dadofour's prediction- I feel as though it is the most realistic. CSAS is playing extremely well right now-- and if anyone remember's last year this is when they peaked last year....we beat them like a rag doll twice in the regular season by like 30+ and 25+only to be in a dogfight in the region championship and win by 11 or 12 and it felt like 2 or 3. CSAS then went on to beat pickett AT PICKETT which hadn't happened in forever...and beat up n two more state teams...

I think the reason CSAS will win is because they are more experienced- still feel like they have something to prove, they are healthy, and we are young and inexperienced at the coaching and playing level...

That being said- because of the upsets in region 4 I think WE can be last years CSAS- I think we can beat either jackson whoever, or westmoreland- neither of those teams are that impressive.

So even if we lose- dadofour- I still see us getting to state-

i couldnt agree more sir, on both comments, that CSAS will beat Temple but Temple will defly make it passed Jackson county or westmoreland if they have to go

i see Temple making it pretty far in the tourney but we could have a match up from last year again, or is that going out on a huge limb?

here is my prediction in the Temple vs CSAS game: both teams come out aggresive CSAS winning the battle tho

i could see both teams winning and hosting a substate game but CSAS has more drive and leadership CSAS on top in the End ; CSAS 62

    Temple 56

  13. Should be a great game thats for sure. No reason why both these teams can't advance to the state tournament!!! I know after Thursday no matter the case i will be pulling for Westmoreland against the teams from Chattanooga!! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

there isnt a good reason why BOTH teams cant make it? i will give you two reasons why they BOTH wont make it: 1) the loser will travel to Chattanooga school for the Arts and Sciences(if CSAS beats Temple in the region3 final thursday) and you dont want to come to E. 3rd street to play basketball!

    2) Temple is defly good enough to travel and win, CSAS proved it last year traveling to Pickett county and upset them.

    3) both of these teams went to the final last year; CSAS brought back every starter from last year! Temple is always a threat, CSAS being the better team (27-4, 10-0)

  14. Really exciting game last night. I was afraid Grace would get blown out early but a couple of big shots by Herman brought them back in it.

Grace had several chances to win that game, but for whatever reason didn't/couldn't come up with a couple of key loose balls and rebounds.

Arts is a very good team who I think can go deep into the State Tournament.

As far as Jon Mattheiss goes...he is a great man with lots of basketball experience and success. (District, Region & Sub-State Championships...2 Silver Balls the first of which came from a bunch of talented sophmores). Grace has had lots of success..but they haven't won the big games in the last couple of years. They will be back. The whole thing is cyclical. Arts hasn't always been this dominant and won't always be.

That being said...Good luck to Temple and Arts next Monday. I would love to see both teams represent Region 3 in Murfreesboro.

P.S. It was fun watching Carter the last four years. Say what you want...he did a lot for that school.

well i agree with you when you say that Temple and CSAS will represent Region 3 well in the state tourney, but the whole Mcmasters point, giving alot to the school? i hope you dont mean that getting sent home two years of his four is giving alot to the program! they are looking to go to the finals every year. grace doesnt know how to use there big men and it didnt help them the past two years

  15. this one is easy

considering that CSAS and Grace split the series in the regular season, CSAS with momentum only because Temple and Grace was such a good game and CSAS beat Temple both times in the regular season

CSAS has to play Grace and they will win

which means Temple doesnt have to play anyone in this tourney till the final against CSAS

i do say CSAS loses in the final game

    wow just like predicted!!!

Next is TEMPLE and CSAS for the final game

i say Temple will be headed up to Pickett county, because CSAS will win by 9 against temple

it will be a good game! close the whole time till the last minute

  16. So everything is shaping out nicely.

    semi finals are set

    Grace vs. CSAS

    and

    Silverdale vs. Temple

these are 2 great match ups.

i give silverdale a pretty good chance at beating temple.

they may have their point guard back and putting them at full strength.

does anyone else think they could beat them?

wow! i hope you are right because CSAS has a better chance beating Silverdale rather than Temple and we all know that!

i will make my prediction for the Grace and CSAS game: 1) split the series in regular season equals toss up

    2) neutral site brings decent crowds for both teams equals toss up

    3) Grace's big men and depth vs. CSAS speed and depth equals toss up

its going to come down to who wants it more, will it be grace revenge from last years loss to CSAS in the semi-finals or will it be CSAS heart to get back to where they were last year at the state final! this game will be a good one none the less but i give it to CSAS in a very close one:

    Grace: 62

    CSAS: 68

  17. Speaking of upsets, CSAS better be careful with much improved 21st Century. We all know Grace will beat CSAS in the 2nd round, but I'm not sure CSAS will make it that far.

your dumb as he11 to think that CSAS will lose to 21 Century, lets be realistic!

it will be CSAS and Temple in the final... End of story

  18. Region 3A tournament is coming up.

some upset contenders in this region.

we've already seen it out of silverdale.

There are 3 great state tournament contenders but only 2 can go through.

    who will the 2 be? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    this one is easy

considering that CSAS and Grace split the series in the regular season, CSAS with momentum only because Temple and Grace was such a good game and CSAS beat Temple both times in the regular season

CSAS has to play Grace and they will win

which means Temple doesnt have to play anyone in this tourney till the final against CSAS

i do say CSAS loses in the final game

  19. Jurick plays when he wants.

The two teams he really tries against are Grace and CSAS.

against CSAS he had 32 points 18 rebounds and 4 blocks.

    He completely dominated the game.

It all depends on if he wants to play or not.

    my top 3 are:

    1.) Phillip Jurick

    2.) Dontay Hampton

    3.) Brandon Herman

your crazy, yes he tries in games that HE WANTS, so that mdoesnt make him top three in chattanooga, i guess when he gets to tennessee he will try in the games he wants to, because that will get him playing time? NO!

my picks are: 1) Dontay Hampton (CSAS 21-4, 9-0, big TEAM effort by all)

    2) Brandon Herman

    3) Tim Benford (already signed football at Tennessee Tech)

  20. Well who has the best home court advantage in east TN?

last night it was round two of the region matchup between CSAS and Temple high school it was a the same single A state championship again, the gym denied people to come in it was so packed!

temple only brought maybe 15 students and parents came, CSAS brought around 100 students who rocked the gym all night, Temple as well as other teams know that playing on East third st. is not only tough; its deafening!!!

  21. D.B. has a few good players, especially their guard North. I'd say that David Brainerd is on an emotional high after beating Lookout Valley last week sometime. Temple needs to shut down North, D.B. needs to shut down Dyer and a recent player who has stepped up #12(i cant remember her name)

What do you think about Temple's chances of beating CSAS in their upcoming matchup?

CSAS GIRLS BIG in this match-up by 25+ i think we see CSAS girls upset grace in the region finals and that will put CSAS girls in the tourney!

  22. I haven't seen this kid play, but the numbers he is putting up seem pretty impressive, and heard he is already being looked at by several D-1's....is this true or is this a bunch of hype?????

i am a CSAS fan but i will be quick to say that Mr. Sexton is a very good player the only thing that keeps him from looking better is his size probably 6'1'' and 179 lbs if i had to guess but he will do fine at a SouCon school, but nothing bigger than that his size wont let him go farther than that

  23. Okay, here's what's going to happen. Temple is going to jump out to an early double-digit lead that will hold through the first half. The Patriots will go to the locker room frustrated and enter the 2nd half with no idea how to turn it around. 2 Crusaders will pick up their 3rd fouls early in the 3rd and will be replaced by subs that will struggle with the Patriots pressure. CSAS will close to within 4 points at the start of the 4th quarter, and will eventually wear Temple down and win by 6. The following week CSAS fans on CoachT will debate whether the game was won because of, or despite Coach Dragoo.

you are cray for one about the game and two the only reasons why CSAS fans "DEBATE" is because someone will ask the question do you think coach dragoo let up because he went to temple or somthing bogus like that and we have respect for him so we take up for him! i already said it once and i will say it again CSAS by 12

  24. Have seen Grace Christian, Oliver Springs, and Berean in person. While all three are good, Grace Christian seems to be the best when at full strength. However, after seeing CSAS last year and Grace Baptist, I really don't see these teams playing with the Chattanooga teams in the long run. I do agree that CSAS is probably the best single A in the state with Union City right there with them. Grace Baptist is incredibly talented inside, and when there guards play well they can play with most teams in state at any level.....

CSAS does have talent to play with anyone in A this year what i think will carry them in the post season is there leadership and depth, again CSAS will surprise all the people that love the memphis teams and the undefeated union city team
