  1. Well MR. Genius If youll look at the post I made on the all star game thread Mr. Uncle is also building up DBs Linebacker Zack, glad he also made the game /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Unlike yourself im not biased in my blessings to kids in the area that make this team, we should be proud of them all. But since your big swollen head cant see past that its too bad on your part. But anyone invited to this and "turned it down as you say" must be riding the short bus to school to not want to play in this game w/ the scouts and coverage it will have, but invited and offered to play are 2 diff. things. I guess the difference between the MLC and the Big East is there, class level that is talent i'm not so convinced, Lets see we beat Science Hill by 10 if I remember correctly and you guys well, SQUEKED by with a desperation last second defensive play in the end zone that would have given Science Hill the win. Yup I can see the difference clearly now, thanks for pointing that out Etathlete.

to Etathelte AND Southfan23 ..........MANY players from the Kingsport area have been invited (through the years) to play in this game. Some played and some didn't! .... Several years ago....Jake McMillen played , Burnett (the QB from Maryville) played, Bo Burton (QB from DB) didn't play.....The bottom line is that each player needs to determine if they need the "exposure"! CP was invited.... but he turned it down (I guess he must have been looking forward to the "BADGER BUS"... rather than riding the short bus - as you stated!) Each and every game played adds a physical risk . Each player has to weigh of the positives and negatives of these types of opportunties (and "honors"). The All Star game "players" are chosen by ????? (who knows) Sure, its a honor ....but if you don't play are you an idiot? NO! There are many, many variables in these types of decisions!!!! Speaking in absolutes is really ridiculous! There are several players who probably "deserve" to be in that game... but they won't be... either by their choice or by the "committee's choice"! When you have players that receive the highest Conference awards.... TF - PLAYER OF THE YEAR, TG - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR,Sheppard - OFFENSIVE PLALYER OF THE YEAR....and they aren't playing.... whats that say? LOTS OF PLAYERS DESERVE TO BE THERE... Don't misinterpret what I am saying....I am THRILLED for BD! He deserves it and the exposure will certanily help him! He is a very talented young man who has alot to offer a program at the next level.... it is irritating to hear fans "probably parents" speak in such absolutes when they have limited knowledge. No I don't know it all .... I certainly know enough to know better! PEACE!!!!!

GOOD SEASON REBELS! LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR! Can't wait to see BT,BigG,little G, STClaire, JLogue, CP,Cassell, and everyone else in action!!!!

  2. I would like to congratulate BOTH teams on a hard fought game. Greeneville -GOOD LUCK!! against Maryville. THANKS REBELS for the great ride this year!! Just didn't want it to end this soon. Thanks to all of the Rebel players, coaches, parents and fans. My son had the un-enviable task of replacing a 3 year all-state QB. I had the misery of waiting to watch him show what he could do and listening to "wait till Phillips is gone and we will get you! I just want to say I am proud of the way he handled himself through it all. No matter what anybody says good or bad, I think his record this year speaks for itself.

    I love you #4. You made us proud!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Good post! BD is a VERY good QB .... he should NOT be compared to ANYONE! I applaud and respect what he did this season AND the past couple of seasons! He could have gone anyplace else.... but HE chose to stay with SOUTH! THAT WAS A HUGE DECISION! BD had a great year and hopefully, he will have more great years! Thanks! YOU made a difference!!!! My hat is off to you and to your 08 teammates...... it has been a long road, you worked hard, you were patient, and you made the most of your opportunity! GREAT JOB! You made US proud! sometimes you can't win?!?

  3. I'm not exactly sure what Clint's injury is, knee related, but he won't be coming to school all week so he can prop his leg up at home.

Neeley is also questionable with a broken thumb, had to get a cast.

I talked to Clint's momma... he is done for the season! He has a partially torn ACL, capsular tear of the knee joint, and several minimal fractures of the tibia and fibula heads..... he is on crutches for 3 weeks - non weight bearing, then reevaluated early Nov. to decide the next course of action. (no surgery needed if things heal well!) Needless to say... he won't be playing again this season.... BUT HE WILL BE THERE TO CHEER HIS REBEL BROTHERS ON!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Volman, you reckon many people heard of Chad Pennington comin out of High School? I do believe he is still playing on Sundays. Speakin of QB's-I saw a pretty good un on the field at Death Valley last night. Said he was in fer tha game from the land of Cheese! Had a big red W on his chest. Fine fellar that boy is. Gotta see his brother make a heck uv a play too! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I believe I saw that Cheese Head myself, says he's redshirting... studying and waiting for his chance ......He was plenty proud of the REBEL WIN!!! not incredibly impressed, but glad anyway! My opinion, TF made the difference... even though G-ville shut him down for most of the game! SW getting onto the groove on the receptinons was a GREAT SIGN!!!! (that can only be GOOD news for the REBS) and AZ also made some BIG plays... both physically and mentally... THAT BOY GETS FIRED UP!!!!! Nice to SEE that intensity!!! We were able to keep things under control and still play our game... each week I believe we WILL mature and progress! So far we have been able to dodge the "bullet of defeat"! As long as we can do that and still improve.... things are going in our favor! Everyone has said from the start... this is a young team in regards to play makers.... We certainly have the talent... these players just haven't had the opportunity (or maybe the "need") to shine till NOW!!!! This team shows more balance since CP is gone.... Kudos to these kids for "hanging in there till their turn"!!!! GO REBELS!!! I thnk this is a compliment to Carter and Co.... they keep the boys heads in the game and on track!!!!!

Still waiting and hoping to see BT back... we certainly have work to do if we are to remain MLC Champs, But it is ours until someone is BIG ENOUGH TO TAKE IT FROM US!!!!... we certainlly have the talent to repeat....we remain the team to beat!!!!! Good win.... keep on working Rebs!

  5. Blue and Grey, This is not the time for me to confront you with all you have said this year and last year under this screen name. So I will but make a few quick points. First, BonnieBlue doesn't get the fact that your posts are aimed squarely at me...not TF, BD, CF, MF or anyone else. So your time posting to BonnieBlue should have been instructions to reread your posts...even the ones you deleted from last year. Next, I have taken the nucleus of your meaning to heart and am attempting to remap my support of this team. However, many of your claims of my so called "Toxicity" are exagerated and out of proportion. Yes, everyone knows who I am and I am not hiding from anyone. And everyone knows I am very outspoken and most times on the money and without regard to political correctness. Stacy has not always been the wonderful coach he is today and yes I was verbal about it. And trust me, there were many that felt more strongly about the situations than I did. The MoWest game of '05. The DB game of '06. The Greenville game and the Maryville game of '07. Suffice to say that as Stacy has matured into his job I have learned with him. He has learned by his mistakes and I have learned that he had a plan all along. But it sounds like you sit there and watch me instead of the game. Me with my arms folded...'cmon now. I mean what color socks was I wearing? You don't have a dog in the hunt? Maybe that is your problem. Because the prospective gets a little bit different when you do. Maybe you understand that maybe not but I reiterate to you that I have taken heed to your advise and am trying to be a civil fan and let the team do the talking. But I don't think your motive was to redirect my energy but instead to knife me in the back. It's OK that I have allowed everyone to know who I am and proud of it but it is interesting that you secretly crucify me. That's fine though because I have learned to take the good with the bad and to find the importance buried deep within the ambushes that your posts toward me have become. I mean why not address me 1st person? Instead to stand at your podium and address the masses. Evidence that you have animosity toward me personally and have no intention of steering my so called "out of control attitude" into the median of tempered positive support. Therefore, I believe your intention was nothing more than to dirty my name. But contrar to your intentions, I have taken your words to heart and tried to extract the best medicine available from what you have given me.

I suggest to you that Taylor Fletcher was raised by his Mother and Father and as all families had their ups and downs but whatever he has or will become is not because of you as you might think. And as bad a set of parents as you obviously think his parents are he is not too awfully bad an example of a fairly decent child. Granted, we could all be better. Including you. So my suggestion to you is if you want to get through to someone and possibly have an effect on their person then come down off your high horse and mingle amongst the commoners and yes, speak your peace. Then your words will be respected by even those that are most affected by them. You speak of toxicity...it is a word you should eat. I look forward to meeting you...but then evidently I already have. HAGD. Rebel Nation. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Point taken Comp.... I apologize for unleashing my toxicity and I have "eaten my pie", as you suggeted! I to, will take heed of your words regarding looking more into my self and my motives! I am sure that in the end we both want the best for OUR team, my apologies for the personal attacks! It won't happen again! However, I am not sure if I will enjoy the games near as much since I can't sit and watch you all night /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> ... but who knows stranger things have happened! Go Rebel Nation!

  6. ssbluegrayfan.

Who do you think you are?!! Getting on here and acussing the parents of this child not being about the team? Jealous, this child has a great support from his friends and family? This child has waited his turn to prove the player he is. Did not notice you had a problem last year when it was alllll about the QB. It was alll about" the star " (as you are implicating in your message of TF) last year and a couple of players on the team last year did not get to show their talents BD included. Its very obvious you do not care for this child and family or is it just the family?. Just keep your commets to yourself or come and talk to the parents. I do not think you have the the manly hood to do the later, so you get on here and bash the child's support system. So mature of you. Shame on you. Futhermore, I heard and saw the as you call it "theTF fan club "chearing for other Senior Players when they did good on the field. For example, HB,TB,and TB. and Jrs.TG and CP. Could it just be that your beloved BD does not have the support that TF does?

Chill Bonnie!!! Who do you thnk you are? And more importantly who do you think I am? Shame on your for assuming you know who I am! You don't have a clue!!!!

BD... I hardly even know.... But I do know he has worked hard and has waiting patiently for His Turn.... so has TF.... I am not at all taking anything away from them!!!! But they haven't worked any harder for the other 70 kids on this team!!!! They may have more ability, but they certainly don't work any harder .... I did nothing but voice my opinion of a balanced game... and that meant praise for BD, TF and the team!!! I was hoping that my comments about the "dissapointment TF's light night" would help everyone in his camp to be a little more open and understanding regarding the game and the goals for the game.... its not always about individual STATS and about letting the stars"do their thing" .....I see them worrying way to much about that! If we have an injury, like we had Friday night.... we need to have other people to step in! This is HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL..... these kids are NOT going to make a living playing this game, very few will even play at the next level! Athletics provide a great opportunity to learn so many life lessons regarding commitment, team work, discipline,etc... not only for the participants but also for the parents! Its hard to keep from getting all caught up in "the my kid is the best and he deserves this and that...... And that is the parents' problem.... 9 out of 10 times if a kid is "bigheaded" their parents are the ones "blowing them up"! I will never bash a kid... they are out there working their butts off, trying to accomplish their goal.... the problem is that too often the parents loose sight of the "big picture"! And NO I don't have it dialed in yet, but I am working on it! Guess what.... There is no secret regarding how i feel about "the parents"! They know I think they are loud, obnoxious and generally out of contol! (I am sure that narrows down the possiblility of who I might be! ha! theres plenty of people in that group!) /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> But, then again, that is my opinion... and it is about the parents and fan club.... NOT THE KID! I WILL NEVER "bash" a kid regarding his play or effort on the field! They all want to win and all give their best! Plus... it is just a game! My posts reflect "MY OPINION and I openly state that, I don't pretend to be some football wizard who knows everthing and who sees what the coaches miss or whatever.... Way to often, Comp's post are stated in such a "factual and condescending" way, he talks of reviewing fim and reviewing every play..... You would think he meets the coaches on sat to watch the film.....Ha! Thats what I am talking about regarding "losing sight of things".

I have been around a while and I was waiting to see how TF and the Club would handle his "new found fame"..... You know, Every year there is a "star"... Stacey Carter, Sam Haynie, Hunter Jordan, they were all stars in their time.... I dare say that NONE of their parents let them think for a single second that they were "any better" or more deserving than anyone else on their teams! The problem isn't in who the star is on each team... the problem sits in how that "star" and his family, teammates and peers "live out" thier fame.... Does TF (and his supporters) use his position to make others around him better? Does he (and they) build up and support those around him and want the best for them too? That is in my opinion, the problem...the focus on what really matters is lost.......I know it is hard to believe... but whether TF is the most talented RB in the conference or whatever, is so far from important in the big scheme of things! I have heard over and over and over and over how the coaches are screwing up, screwing the team, screwing TF when he isn't given the "priveleges or opportunities" they think he deserves!

Hey Bonnie, perfect example.... Were you around when Comp was giving the South Athletic Director heck about his assigned reserve seats? According to him ... AND I QUOTE...."they deserve to be able to sit anyplace they want"! Give me a break! I (and everyone around at the time) was embarrassed for the AD and for TF!!!!

Intresting comment about "cheering for the OTHER SENIORS when they do something good" ... what about any player who does something good? There are alot more underclassman playing than seniors!!! Speaking of cheering.. I observed GF sitting with his arms crossed for 80% of the game.... hard to cheer like that! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> At one point in the game (while we had a player down and injured).... Instead of sitting quietly like everyone else...they were busy "coaching " their boy from the stands.... how is that supporting the team? How about just a little respect?

Remember, sometimes you are so close to a situation you can't really see what is happening and if you are emotional tied to someone or something it is very difficult to be objective! No one likes to have negative things said about them..... I would love to never have to listen to "the club" rant and rave ever again.... but I doubt that will happen... cause some people you just can't please!!!!

Just a reminder.... YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHO I am ....If you think I am in any way related to BD you are way off base!!!!!! In fact, I DON'T EVEN HAVE A HORSE IN THE RACE! I am just a fan who sits "back and watches the game, listens to the comments, cheers and (unfortunately)the verbal BS coming from the stands!

I am not doubting that TF must have a good support system somewhere cause he is a pretty good kid!

I liked Comps post on this thread.... "stacy is a good coach.... he knows what he is doing"! I agree! I don't recall that type of post last September! Lets see if he is still supportive if things aren't going the way he thinks they should!? That will be the test!

    Go rebels!

  7. Hate to see ZE's injury! He will be missed! Agreed, Bradley showed poise, speed and maturity tonight! He threw well to several different receivers, kept the ball to draw the defense, AND hit the hole running hard several times (for scores!!!!). The Rebels showed alot of balanced play tonight.... good runs by Fletcher, good throws by BD. We will need more games like this to get this rebel team "clicking" to carry on the "tradition[/color]"! It was great to see us come out and stick it to Unicoi EARLY ... we haven't done that the past couple of meetings. I am sure that TF's fan club is dissapointed that he didn't get to run, run, run.... its early in the season ... we HAVE to fine tune ALL our "weapons" if we are to succeed in the Big games!!!! The "W" is what matters.... not who gets to be the star! Coach Carter is all about teamwork... the kids believe it (mostly) ....hopefully the parents will eventually get on board !!!! GREAT JOB REBS!

  8. Great win tonight!!! Our prays go out to Zach Ervin.

Bradley and Taylor looked great. I feel our secondary is lacking this year. We were burnt several times on the quick slant. I guarantee you that there are gonna be faster WR and better QB's than what big nasty Unicoi County has to offer. They have to get that situation taken care of or Greenville will throw the ball all over them.

This is the first time in 3 years South has scored first on Unicoi County. Ellis broke the school record for longest fumble recovery.

  9. I played baseball for coach hoover for the past 3 years. He was a great coach all 3 years. Yes he as a temper, but it never really came out that much, only when one of us was pitching extremely terrible or we were having a bad attitude. Maybe he is different in football, i dont know. One thing i do know, is that he is a good person, and I doubt many of you on here know him well enough to talk bad about him, all you know is how you see him coach, maybe its that he doesn't play your son enough, or you dont like coaches that yell sometimes. If thats the case get over it because he doesn't play that politic stuff, the best kids play, and coaches are gonna yell, your kids just need to stink it up and move on and do better. I would say that one reason he stays away from parents is because you all bicker and argue and yell at him for not doing this or doing that in a football game. If you want to coach get out of the bleachers and do it. Anyway, coach hoover is a great coach, everybody on our team last year loved him, maybe the parents didnt but he doesn't coach the parents. So before you all get on here and fuss about him, get to know him, he is actually a good person.

Nice job...redforlife! It is nice to hear a participants' voice on here for a change! I agree completely .... if you ain't coaching... keep your pie hole shut! Ha! Just kidding! But really... the kids are the ones who really matter.... parents need to step back and take a deep breath and let them do what they are hired to do! Coaches are usually unbiased PAID individuals who are seeking what is best for the team... parents CAN NOT be objective! We all love our kids too much I guess..... Once again.... let the coaches coach and the parents cheer!!!! If only it could be that simple!?

  10. Okay, let's all settle down here. I brought this issue up just to see what everyone thought about it. I didn't want it to get to this point. From what I've read, everyone is correct. Well, except for Jack and he's NEVER correct! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I agree that the G's will get what's coming to them. It was rumored that the boy would transfer to Robinson last year. He didn't. Maybe now that this has happened, he will go to D-B next year. As for Comp, I really don't like the personal attacks towards him and his family. Yes, Comp is very outspoken, but you CANNOT compare him to the G's! Someone said he complains when TF doesn't get 25-30 carries a game!? C'mon. How many times has that happened at South and Comp has been very supportive of our teams the last few years. Let's give it a rest and everything will be just fine. Coach J will do a VERY good job and maybe next year we will get Coach H back.

My point exactly....Comp was satisified with coach Jordan primarily because TF got to run and run and run at CHMS .... he was the Big Dog.... thats the way Comp likes it! (I know... most parents do....) But MOST parents don't sit around and whine when their kids don't get to "do what they want"! I know you have been at the games and heard the crap coming down when things aren't going according to "plan", or not going so well at all.... its always the coaches fault... bad game plan... not using the right people enough.... it just gets old hearing all the "great insight" from Comp regarding how to coach "correctly"! Last time I checked he was "cooking" not coaching! I don't dispute that TF is a good player and most importantly A GREAT KID!!!!! My beef with comp is that he is too vocal about the negatives or about how he has had to "get over being wronged"... or more importantly how his kids were overlooked or whatever...... thats it! Its hard to watch people like the G's be allowed to "manipulate or control" the system, and it is also hard to sit and listen to the toxicity Comp often spews regarding that same system! I can hear it now.... comp only speaks the truth....we could use a little less of his "truthful opinions" regarding what the kids or the coaches should do! Stacy and company (including Coach Hoover and Jordan) have worked really hard to establish great programs.... It gets my goat to hear daddy's criticize the coaches or the coaches choices.... Man.... if the parents could keep thier own egos and opinions out of the quotation.... sports would run so much smoother! Sorry... I will get off my soapbox.... I usually keep pretty quiet! This whole mess has got my blood pressure up! Nuff said... I am sure the G's will eventually get "theirs", and who knows... Comp might even realize he ain't "wizard of all football knowledge"?!? In the meantime, life goes on.... the boys will keep working away on the field and do their best to ignore all us "ole timers" who have the answers regarding everything! I wish the Chargers and the Rebels ALL THE BEST!

  11. I going to be straight up honest with you. And I bite my tongue saying these words but here you are. I do not sympathize with Coach H. I sympathize with the fact that he and all coaches have to walk on pins and needles to do their job. Now that said, I feel that this very situation will force him to re-evaluate his method. And yes, it might be advocated that if this situation caused him issues then possibly he could be potentially unstable under true duress. And that is IF he ever gets another chance to coach again.

That said, I personally had issues with him. I let it go. I did not want to but I did. It involved my daughter. And that is why I let it go. Legally he was obligated to allow her to be on the team. He said no. Legally he could not say no. But he did. Now was that the right thing to do? Well it was correct for my family. Her future lies in a different direction and in the long run it was the better way to go. I endured the same situation on a Rebel baseball team. She was the premier athlete but was ignored. We took her off the team. To protect her reputation.

So do I sympathize with his plight at the expense of your plight? NO! I abhor these situations because society has eroded to a point of discust. Do I disrespect Mr. G? No, BUT I feel that there could have been a better way. That said, I do understand the feeling of being singled out put in a corner and forced to make a decision of retaliation or concede to negotiation. I can't help but feel that this being a professional situation that Mr. G could have had a tremendous impact not only on the community but on his son and especially the coaching staff and management staff of Sullivan County had he chosen another path. But the other side of the coin is will this be an all around better set of circumstances in the long run. I think yes. but not at the expense of how it came to be.

It sounds like I am trying to be a politician here but the bottom line of how I feel is this: They were both in the wrong...son and coach. And the Father reacted predictably. The boy historically has disaplinary issues. The coach is a hardliner. They don't mix. He resigned proving his unwillingness for restitution. You have a new coach...and might I add as stated before the best possible coach money can buy. You should be exstatic.

I think you(and your Mrs) have a great deal in common with Mr and Mrs G..... its all about you and yours!!!! Listen to yourself.... You said you "let it go"? Only until you could stir it up again!!!! So your little girl had to give up playing with the boys?! She would have had to anyway!!! There is a reason girls don't play football!!!!! She could NOT mix with the guys at the next level .... Coach H did her a favor by "pushing her in another direction"! She is a good athlete... not an incredible athelete... and yes she is a girl... a strong girl, but still a girl... Let it go... she is better off! Same with your young stud.... as long as Spin Dr. gets the ball and gets to "run it 20 - 30 x a game... things are good and you "like and support" the coaches... otherwise... you always have issues! You will certainly not hesitate to scream and yell and tell everyone how "closeminded and stupid" the you think the coaches are.....Like I said ... you and Mr G seem to have alot in commom... this whole "don't mess with me and mine mentality" comes across loud and clear in BOTH situations! There has been way to much BS spread about this CHMS thing.... Coach H was sacrificed because of a crybaby and his crazy parents! I am dissapointed that the G's were allowed to "win"... their "complaints" would NEVER stand up in court!!!!!! The administration and Coach H just didn't want to fight it... it wouldn't have been worth the pain or the scars the fight would have caused to Coach H, and our community. Sure, this kid has some God given talent... so does Michael Vick..... enough said! At some point they (child and parents) need to be held responsible for their behavior! I agree that the team is very lucky to have their new coach.... but they had a GOOD coach already!

  12. This thread is dead so I should let it go but Curt had a bad night...I know of 3 he had in the past 3 years. Meanwhile, Maryville had a great night.

The bottom line here is Curt got his numbers and recognition on athleticism...PERIOD. BB got his reputation from superior coaching. Yes, the combines told the tale. Curt went to group A and Burnette went to group B. Period.

Burnette played the superior game on that Friday and GQ was the superior coach. Maryville won and South choked. Shoulda', woulda', coulda' don't cut it when the Gold Ball is at stake. It was do or die...daylight or dark...hot or cold...black or white... Maryville did all the right things and deserve all the spoils. They taught Sullivan South a lesson in the big time. Not with superior athletes...not with better this or better that...not with D1 talent. They taught us a lesson in coaching. We will be the better for it. We will be back. And '08 looks pretty impressive. I for one am glad we played the best in the state and beyond. It will force us to take it up a notch. Henry County, Maplewood, or Hillsboro for that matter could not have hung with us. It served to prove that NET football is not quite the waterboy we are made out to be.

So let Burnette enjoy his reward. He has the right to be proud. Curt will have another day. He is just getting warmed up.

So be appreciative of the opportunity to see how it is done...and live for the chilly December evening when the Blue Rebels put the hammer down.

Lay off Burnette and Maryville...they were not responsible for South's loss to them in the Semi Finals...at least not solely.

2008...the year of Fate. Rebel Nation.

Cumpasatman ...I have read more than enough of your crap on here to last me a lifetime! Just in case everyone on this thread doesn't already know it... compasatman is Gary Fletcher.... the father of the "great" South RB # 15... that should explain why he is always ranting and raving about how infrequently #15 gets the ball, etc!!! Get off your soapbox! You have serious problems man! Every parent thinks their kid is great but you take the cake! I am sick of your great wisdom (more like your BS) regarding the games and how the coaches let South down... My question to you is Why don't you take your boy and go elsewhere? Cause you know no place will "please you"?! Most people at the game saw Curt play his heart out... theres not alot more he could have done! Maryville had us beat at EVERY position EXCEPT QB! If Curt had the supporting staff that Burnette had... WOW what a show that would be!!! Don't get me wrong, I have never heard a complaint from Phillips about his teammates... he loves it at South.... but the talent was not comparable! Agreed, Maryville was the better team and they deserved to win.... you talk about laying off Burnette, but why don't YOU lay off Curt? Good night... you are supposedly a South fan!?! Sure you have a right to your opinions but we are sick of hearing them! If your boy played for Maryville he certainly wouldn't have gotten the playing time he got playing for South! I have heard your boy is a good kid.... so no disrespect to him... its just too bad you are such a jerk! Wake up and smell the coffee, dude!

  13. Hey itstartshere, what was CP's answer to the question?

Burnette's answer was loud and clear.I would say Mr.Football and MVP pretty much sums it up. I was going to ask CP myself since I knew you would not but I did not see him anywhere.I guess you are right about one thing him and Burnette would not be put in the same group.CP's group must have been meeting somewhere else instead of the mediocre group on the field holding the Gold Ball .

CP is a great qb and I am sure a credit to his school and hometown but right now BB is the #1 QB in the State.

I'm sure CP is pretty tired of the comparisons!!!t Truth be known, when both CP and BB stood side by side in the combines (without their South or Maryville jerseys) and without their supporting staff....BB didn't get any looks! Maybe in the "blind" eyes of the "locals" BB gets the nod... but who will be playing on Saturdays at the D1 level... by bet is on Curt Phillips (CP to you!)! The proof is in the "offers"! What has BB landed? And if he is so great why is it taking schools so long to offer? The top QB's were offered LONG ago... like in June and July! Just a little reality check for ya!
