Do you really think that UTM is the only college that recruited Butler??... she had many to pick from... she chose UTM... The difference in Fussell and Butler is that Fussell chose a team that is already on the map... and Butler and the new recruits will put UTM on the map... So don't try to build Fussell up by where she is going to college... Fussell is a great player no matter where she goes... and Butler is also a great player... UTM is a good college and will have a phenominal ballteam for the next several seasons....

Career points scored. Does Freshman year count toward total? Or just Varsity? Just interested how other schools do it.

some schools have freshman teams and varsity teams... but from my understanding the only points that count is the varsity games...

Speaking of the Wings, the 16+ is going to be LOADED!!!!!!!! I think they finished 4th or 5th last year in the nation and those players have gotten even better now!

There is no doubt that Griffin deserved MVP of the state tournaments. Had it not been for her, that championship game would've been ALOT closer or LA might've came away with a W.

 

Ghost, jealousy is a bad thing. It seems there is quite a bit of it over there in OC. You're jealous that the Reedy's made the move to Gibson Co., you're jealous of a 35-0 record, you're jealous of a TEAM like Gibson Co... That post was absolutely ridiculous. No wonder the Reedy's wanted to leave Obion Co. (that is if you are from Obion Co.)!

It's all the ladies contributions that won the game.... anybody that knows anything about b-ball knows that it takes a team effort to win games...and accomplish what these ladies did... like i've stated before.. the GC ladies have the total package... quickness, speed, strength.... we are not so much on size.... but that is not so important.... when you can do what these ladies can do...

congrats to GC, wish we could been there in that final in place of LA but it was not meant to be.

she should have been the MVP ... no way Gibson is 35-0 if she didn't transfer ... maybe at least send OC a panel off that Gold Ball because with her and Miss Basketball Chassidy Fussell, OC and GC might have just swapped places

I really shouldn't lower myself to respond to this... but I think it's pretty sorry for someone to make a statement like that... ALL the girls at GC worked their tails off to get what they got...(a perfect 35-0 season and a GOLD BALL)... and to say that one is more deserving than the other is just wrong... they are a team and they play as a team...GC is not a one player team!!!!!....three double doubles is something that no other player in AA accomplished in the BURO... And if you would have asked Aubrey she would say the same thing.... Griffin would not have been able to do what she did without the teamwork of the other players... just as the others would not have accomplished what they did without the rebounds and defense by Griffin... that's why GC had the season they had because they are a team and there is NO jealousy...In Griffin's eyes they are all MVP's... and they ALL deserved it...GC only had one task on their mind and that was the GOLD BALL... So don't try to take something away from a player that obviously others (that know more than you) thought she deserved...

I did read it wrong...they play friday..which comes off as a bit unfair to me...the teams who played today get to rest b4 their next game...fridays teams play again on saturday...seems a bit unfair ...oh well!

GC LADIES play Thursday @ 11:30.... the next game will be Friday @ 2:30...

Gibson Co. defeated Bradford the other night 60-16 and defeated Ripley tonight 70-26.....

 

The starters played the first 2 1/2 quarters against Bradford and the starters only played for a 1 1/2 quarters tonight against Ripley. Our Freshman look VERY good and are fun to watch. They're providing more depth for us by each game they get to play in!

The starters might have played a total of 6 minutes the entire game... the bench looked very sharp...

Honestly, this years girls bracket might be competitive. Gibson Co. will win the girls side, but Humboldt is much improved, Bradford is Bradford, Milan is running and gunning this year, Trenton is decent... There will be some competitive games played in this Christmas tournament. I expect Gibson Co. and Humboldt in the girls championship.

There is no way for it to be Gibson County and Humboldt in the championship...Humboldt is on the upper bracket with Gibson County....

It'll be ok.... give that Griffin girl an extra day to rest from that absolute dirty undercut she received. As soon as I seen her fall, my first thought was what had happened last year. Glad she's ok!!!

As of right now.... the game will be played on Thursday night... unless something changes... and yea they can all use the rest...it will take more than an undercut to take out one of our ladies.. lol... they're pretty tough...

yes... This might help... Saturday schedule is: Milan vs Gibson Co. (Boys) 5:30, Gibson Co. vs Humboldt/Trenton winner (Girls) 7pm, Humboldt vs Trenton/Bradford winner (Boys) 8:30.... Monday: Girls Consolation game 3pm, Boys Consolation game 4:30, Girls Championship game 6:30, and Boys Championship game 8:30...

It is in the Jackson Sun...Friday night schedule is: Humboldt vs Trenton (GIRLS) 5:30, Trenton vs Bradford (BOYS) 7:00, Milan vs Bradford (GIRLS) 8:30.

It was a great game. OC coming and plying like they did not really surprise me. They wanted to make a statement and they did. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Fussell will have a very good chance at being the MVP for 13AA along with some others. I was really impressed with the OC crowd towards Reedy. I saw many of them clapping and supporting her while she was playing. That's class. The student body was great too. I fully expected them to boo her off the court, but they didn't.

 

In the end Gibson County is just too deep, and made free throws when it counted. The next match-up should be interesting. Congratulations to Gibson Co. You need to be tested and you were last night. The fans did not boo Aubrey, but some of the players... let's just say... have NO CLASS... while both teams were shaking hands, congratulating each other after the game... a few of he players (one in particular, MISS CHEAP SHOT) said some pretty hurtful things to her..which shows she has NO class at all...

The only thing that I am saying.. is that how can someone have a list.. that says that these are the top players to play college ball.. when they haven't seen all the players... but I do understand that you can't see them all... but you shouldn't make a post.. that says... "BEST PLAYERS"... what makes a good player a better player is TEAM work... you need others on the team that make the main players even better... Gibson County has a deeper team.... than I have seen in a long time... and I've seen alot of teams...

The thing that worries me about the lady pioneers is that if they don't face any team that can push them..(during season).... it will hurt them when they reach their destination.. They have yet to play any team that has made the ladies play up to their potential...The ladies get so much of a lead that.. each player is not playing anymore than a total of 2 quarters...Our closest game was 25 points...I look forward to GC playing against OC and Westview... These games are always intense...

LOL no girls from Gibson Co on it?? That's a joke. Two or three of the Lady Pioneers could beat half of these girls one on one anyday!

You are so right!!!!... Someone needs to tell him he needs to come down and watch GC play a few games... then his list would change... I would not take anything away from any of the girls listed... but credit should be given where credit is due...

Aubrey is a team player she will fit in well with the Lady Pioneers... being with the Reedy's this summer has been a great experience...

This is a deadly topic. All it is going to do is name names and hurt feelings. Everybody in their own region knows who deserves more credit and who is over hyped. I don't think that we need to air our personal gripes on this thread.

I agree.. someone could get their feelings hurt... so what needs to be done is to just name names... not that one is better than the other... there are lots of athletes that get pushed to the back burner... but with Gibson County girls... all they care about is winning... it's not who gets the most recognition... it's just coming out on top...this year i don't know of any of the girls on GC that care whether they do all the scoring ... they just want to win as a team.... and that is what makes a GREAT team... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

They have received their bid to nationals....I believe you have to finish in the top 2 at substate to get a state bid....superregionals have nothing to do with state play.
