  1. cneagles13,

I knew I would bait you out. You didn't happen to wear the same number last year at GP as well did you? It's never good to brag on one's self. Yea you had a decent year. Remember I??™m close to the program in fact could have been a teammate for a short time. I'll put it like this i know of no nagging injuries. i remember that someone always seem to be having the flu when it was a crucial situation or needing to pitch. Therefore always having an excuse. As far as the top two hitters, I should have said it in a different way. You led the team in RBI's but they also had 2 people hit for better avg. including the little brother. That had to hurt! Also as far as having 10 more RBI's than anyone else, another exaggeration. The next closest was the little brother with only 5 less and two more people with only 7 less. As far as Capps as a hitter I remember many times he let us down with a pop fly. 8 other guys on the team hit for a better avg. and produced better stats. Extra base hits aren't a good stat when it is your only hits!

The comment about learning to score runs off of HBP is pretty sour coming from someone who claims to support the program. Sounds to me that you hold resentment against this team for some reason. I think your little brother will do a nice job stepping up and proving you wrong with a high avg. and a lot of run production this year. And as far as you knocking in all those runs, do you remember who hit in the 1 and 2 hole to be on base in front of you, yea they are returning to set the table for your brother. It stinks being a Barton and being wrong!

  2. PATS08,

Have you followed this district very long?

    1. Pigeon Forge is the team to beat, reloaded as usuall.

    2. Cumberland Gap lost more than just those two. I think they graduated 4 or 5 seniors, correct me if im wrong.

    3. Gatlinburg-Pittman lost 2 seniors only, returning the rest of the starters. The two they lost were not their leading hitters nor their top two pitchers. Capps was their ace and he will be missed, but Watson has been groomed for that role since he was a freshman. He is a junior who is throwing well and getting some attention already. The other pitcher that was lost who was also thier catcher only won 2 games with 8 ERA. hardly gonna be missed.

    4. Union graduated their whole starting lineup as well and are rebuilding.

    5. Rutledge lost alot of talent that went on to play college baseball over the past two years. They will be tuff as usuall due to the fact thier kids just know how to win. I think they are going to be young and should be back to a power house when they open in their new school.

    6. Claiborne will be much as they have in the past. Also heard they hired a woman for the head coaching job. I believe in equal oppurtunity but shouldnt you have someone who has played the game to be the coach. It justs shows they care nothing about baseball in Claiborne.

  3. Hi there folks I am not on sites of this kind very often. However I am moving into the greater Birmingham area. I as a parent believe that private school environments are better suited for my children. Therefore I am taking into consideration three schools in the Birmingham area. Shades Mountain Christian Academy, Briarwood Christian and John Carrol High School. I have looked into the history of each school as well as their coaches. However being that Mike Bramblett is seemingly new to coaching in the state of Alabama I was going to go on this site to inquiry as to if anyone from Tennessee had heard of him or has any past dealings with him as an individual, coach or acquaintance. Please feel free to simply post any updates on here as I will frequently check back.

    -Much Appreciated Parent

He left Pigeon Forge in a hurry, and with a lot of debt. They thought about having him arrested. He was 0-10 in football and the baseball team who had been in back to back state championship games, went .500 on the season with a pretty good crop of kids. Left both programs around $25,000.00 in debt.

  4. Gp had a signature win friday night against pigeon forge. Looks like they are going to be the team to beat in the district this year. They are now 2-0 in the district and 6-2 overall.Gp had a signature win friday night against pigeon forge. Looks like they are going to be the team to beat in the district this year. 5. Well im not saying that back in the day he wasnt a good coach but the game has changed. But times are changing and just talking to certain people and watching them play it seems as if they dont have many offensive plays and aren't up to date with other teams. And about the talent issue, they have had some good talent come through the past 3 to 4 years but havent done much with it. And this years team is very talented and even the coach has said it so if you doubt what i say then read the On The Ball Magazine. They can all shoot, dribble, and are just pure athletes and play D as well.

But even if you have great athletes on a team, the only way you can win is by execution and defense. Plain and simple

  6. ktime101, what year did you graduate, what years did jbs go to state....

Actually I didnt graduate from there, I transferred to gatlinburg pittman 2 years ago and im a senior now...but I know they do have a lot of talent, but you know as well as I do When you are just getting back from football, it takes time to shake the rust off and knowing what your teammates like to do whether its on offense or defense, just trust me the red devils are going to look like a good team very soon.

  7. What years did Ronnie C go to the state tournaments..... He is an okay coach, been there for a long time, I do not see a need for getting rid of him unless you can get someone spectacular to coach there and I do not think that will happen..... This years team is a mediocre team, not all that much talent, they are probably your "average" 1A team if every team in the state was ranked... I remember in 2001 the got beat by CPA in the regions like 33-31 and the next year got killed by Ezell in the regions, that is about all I know about JBS post season history..... Can someone give me some info.....

As a former basketball player at jo byrns and playing for coach carlisle I know that it isnt the coaching ability that is wrong with the team or the individual basketball players either, when you have a lot of talent sometimes it can be very difficult to play together because everyone tries to get their points, but I know they will turn it around and get back on track.

  8. In Alcoa's last two games, Taylor has scored 31 and 30 points in wins over Carter and Morristown East.

Taylor Brown is a great shooter but I think that holzer kid from gatlinburg pittman is very deserving as well...the other night he had 4 threes in the first quarter...He has to be one of the best in east tennessee.
