  1. Not that it matters because it's summer. CAK was up double digits at half and twice subbed and Hampton made big runs to tie and take the lead. The final score was only 7 and was a very good game with CAK hitting a 3 to tie the game with 2 minutes left at 61-61. Hampton ended up being the better team in the end but to say it was a double digit easy win idk. I respect hampton and think they will be a state tournament team in single A. Very well coached and the kids play hard it was a great game.

i totally agree with you coach,i think CAK would have one this one in a regular season matchup, but that saying, hampton should definately be in the state tourn, east tenn single A is very much down this year seen some of the best players in years graduate, the toughest games they will have will be in their own district, harriman should have a better team this year, but their biggs arent good enough to beat hampton.Grace, greenback, rockwood,Osprings, tellico, all graduated great players.Hampton should have an easy walk to the tourn, still dont think the east can compete with the west tenn teams though, but would be a great accomplishment just to be there, then anything can happen i guess!Good luck this season Dawgs!always enjoy the climate controllers classic-that is when we get to play it.

  2. C.A.K. has given them all sorts of problems before and so has Greenback...I don't see Greenback beating them this year even though they might be okay again...but C.A.K really is the only threat I see...it's the high school football kickoff game on the first thursday night so nerves might get them..or nerves might make them play special.

well Mr.vols that is why they actually play on fridays nights,i've sat here and listened and not commentented on your ridiculous comments, but you my friend are delutional,to the point of being almost funny, you all are suspended for the next two years for cheating!that means anything you all have done or will do doesnt stack up to a hill of beans, you will forever be labeled cheaters, you all should have good teams every year(you all recruit)and could have been good this year, but you all will be 0-10 no matter what happens!you all didnt give GB a chance against you all last yr(i'll admit i didnt either)but they took it to you all,yes you scored the most when it counted, but you have to admit they wer running all over you all.anybody can be a champion on a computer board thats real easy, but sometimes you have to line up and play a little ball, and when that was done(when it really mattered)you all came up not only short but embarrased!now get over it,you all are and forever will be counted as cheaters your next two seasons are all but over and i have a feeling when you get off probation you will be in a little differnt classification.and oh yes you should be very proud!i have seen nor heard any remorse from anyone associated with you school.you guys have taken alot of hard work from smaller schools to get to championships and made a joke out of their hard work by using ineligible players, you will never get my respect!

  3. Alright people. I don't think anybody is afraid of Grace or there coaches. We just don't have respect for them. Rd. 3 playoffs 2009. Um Harriman vs Grace i believe... Remember the first time Grace played Harriman, they beat the Blue Devils pretty bad. But in the playoffs, i remember the devils had Grace on a leash.... Grace scored the first touchdown on play 2 (i think). Did that stop Harriman? No! Harriman came right back and stayed with them. If this farm team can run up in Grace the first time and get whooped up and down the field, then come right back up and give Grace a run for their money, that shows nobody (at least Harriman) ain't afraid. I loved seeing Grace's coaches, fans, even players get annoyed by the devils. Oh and I just remembered something.... Grace didn't allow one of the coaches in the press box, so Grace had an aerial view while Harriman did not... Grace travels to the farm team's home in 2010. Lets see if they can get away with anything. (anybody know where Harriman is? I want to see this game!)

Oh by the way, Props on the scriptures. Not many people have the balls to quote biblical lyrics out on the internet or in public. Good job. :roflol:

Good post Flatts,i remember the night the mighty RAMS came to Greenback this year, our boys were terribly afraid of that RAM RIGHT HOOK,(not)not only did a freshman run for 150 some odd yards, but the mighty(FLU)stricken RAMS had to score at the end of the game to beat a 3 and 7 team.Quit cheating and we'll see about that right hook!lol.....ilove the tradition these small schools have, until you bring a gold ball home, thats all it is is talk.
  4. this will be my last post on this subject....I don't know the kid....only from what I was told....I DO KNOW that the coaches had NO idea that the church helped out in anyway....so I'll leave you with this....what ever school you support is great. I hope they have a great season next year and many more to come. Just please think about this....It's always easy to point fingers and say it's wrong or yell CHEATER when you have zero involvement. But what if it was your son?...grandson?...nephew?.....or any relation?....would you still actually be on a web site complaining that your team keeps getting beaten down by a christian school?...I wonder?...is it also possible that you are so insecure about yourselves that you feel like since it is a christian school then they should be bad at sports. Is that it?...I'm leaving now...with one last thing....I'm sorry. For your families. And as a 1986 Clinton Grad and former football player myself I never thought I would root for another team other than my Dragons but from now on I say GO RAMS! I hope they CONTINUE to kick the loving heck out of you! GO RAMS! GO RAMS! GO RAMS! GO RAMS!

The bottom line is they knew, there for it is cheating if it were one of the small pubic schools it woudnt matter it is still cheating, tssaa rules state that it is up to the AD of the school to check and double check the kids eligibility especially in this kind of circumstance, the problem is this is six years in a roll you all have used an eneligible player in either basketball or football, you can try to discredit this info but it is true, your own pastors son was involved,if you want to be involved with a program that has to cheat to win then that is your perogative,i'll take the small school who takes the hard road anytime! The bad thing is is you say the coaches dont know, well i know the head coach who quit there a few years back(you all know who i'm talking about)and he has spoken liberally about the illegal things that go on at that school,he knew about this situation,so how does the next coach not know!if the kid was 5foot3 140 pounds i would bet he is still at karns!the drugs and trouble doesnt hold water,he's not been an ideal student at grace either.the ones who have really lost on this is the granparents who didnt think they were doing anything wrong!

  5. i know this may be hard for you guys, but try to show a little class and not use kids names on this board.

it's funny we need to show a little class, you guys have robbed at least four different teams from district and region championships by CHEATING!cosby in football, tellico in football,Greenback in basketball, rockwood in basketball. This is the first year in bball that you all have shown any class, football has been classless for the past three years,i would be to ashamed of my so called christian school, christian means christ like, you all need to change the name, you are embarrassing the christian community.pujo we talked about this earlier in the football year about not being able to keep up with GCA,well this is the only way single A will be able to compete-catch them cheating and punish them.i would say if they look hard enough they will have enough to envoke the death penalty, remember Temple!

  6. They have done it with Baseball the past 2 years

Hired a guy that brought his son and several of his friends from another public school in Knoxville.

Now, they have hired Hochevar.......well......do I have to say anymore???

Were they not busted last year for basketball violations???

Well they have been busted again this time it is going to affect the whole sports program, williams tuition was being paid by the school, they lied to his grandparents told them it was a scholarship, got turned in to the tssaa, grandparents told truth(that was all they knew).tssaa is in middle of rechecking all the kids and every program.

  7. Does anyone know the details of the situation?

Why let the details get in the way of wild speculation?

details as of now:someone turned williams in said his tuition was being paid by the school, well tssaa is in the middle of a huge investigation of more than just this situation, williams grandparents told the truth about the tuition, they were told it was a scholarship(not).I would guess some of the folks there are tired of all the cheating and lying and turned them in and after the allegations the tssaa found out it is not a scolarship fund, the school is actually paying the kids tuition, boy i remember something like this at temple a few years ago, they got slammed.it is so hard to build a competitive basketball or football program much less two at the same time, had to figure something was going on.Two years in a row of cheating;six if you count the wanamaker situation.

  8. I heard Williams is being a whistle blower and telling about how his "Financial Aid" was being paid. Heard TSSAA was very interested in the situation. Especially after last year's fiasco with the coaches having a Florida boy up here with no family and having to forfeit all those games last season. I hear that there the football and basketball team are going to have to forfeit games and maybe will be made an example by the TSSAA. Just short of a death penalty. It seems like every season that Grace Christian Academy is in some kind of trouble. What will it take for them to realize they are not doing things the right way? is everybody else tired of them getting by with the way they operate things over there at that private school?

well i have kept this to myself most of the year(because i said i would not make negative coments about Grace if williams and Burdette came back to the program),but in lew of these circumstances this was one of the reasons i heard they would not be back, for one i heard from a previous board member that they were setting up a fund for the athletes that could not pay the tuition(donations by church members)which is still illegal and unethical in public sports, and yes the coaches knew about it and also the administration, just as they knew before the state tourn last year but would not do anything about it until they returned, this is why GCA gets put down and ridiculed by the other schools in the area,if you cheat you will get caught, and you all have had a loose cannon with the williams kid since he came from karns.I'm very surprised they dont give them the death penalty,if they go back(which they probably cant)to the wannamaker kid living with the pastors son(illegal)then the pridgeon kid, to williams,by which a former coach said he knew all along williams tuition was being paid along with afew other indescretions, thats one of the reasons he lft there some four years ago.i think this will be just the start if they start digging, you cant get that good that fast as small of a school as they have, its almost impossible!

  9. wow skippy if i didnt know any better i would think you were titlows dad or titlow himself...even in just a simple thread congratulating grace for a good year, you have to find something wrong and pump up titlow even more...rather is head and shoulders above anyone else in the region and titlow isnt even the best post in the region or district....give it a break and try to make a couple posts that dont down grace and dont try and pump up one of your own players. congrats to grace.

you make a good point a about a simple thread, congrats Grace you all have had a great year, and hoopin, you havnt been around these threads very long,or around district 3 bball, ask any coach who is the best post in the district or region,he's done his work i dont have to pump him up.just givin him some props its been a rough year.good luck to all in 3a. P.S. i thought i have done a pretty good job laying off Grace this year!

  10. Great Job boys. Not many gave you a chance after loosing all five starters, way to prove them wrong.

well i told you that (IF)burdette and williams(which has not been much of a factor)returned that you would have a legite chance at #1,burdette has always been a class act and an outstanding player!Give your coach credit i still dont like what he done last year, but he has done a good job coaching,i would like to say that i havent watched much bball this year, but that this has been a terrible yr for Greenback basketball losing 8 srs off last yrs squad, but Titlow has been doubled and tripled in every game, and he still can keep them init if he touches the ball, some will say rather is best in region what this kid has done to keep his team in ball games has been unbelievable, rather has a good supporting cast titlow has no one,He IS the best player in the region, last night he was great and fun to watch-paper said 25pts and 12rbs,thats of 43 total team pts!Grace will be the team to beat again-but then again not taking nothing away from them but, this is the weakst i have ever seen district 3,we are way behind the other districts and regions!

  11. Rams lose several key sr's but also have many solid young players coming back in 2010. The biggest questions are 1. How hard do they want to work in the offseason with weights and spring practice and 2. who will the leaders be that will step up and say "NO" to the penalties and lack of discipline that seemed to pop up in about 75% of the games this season including the games against SPitt and Gibbs/Rockwood and 2nd Harriman game. Go Rams in 2010!!!

Yes UVF,grace should be tough again, but to your comment on whos going to be a leader,i'm not being mean when i say this, but you have to look at the coach for the past couple of years and put the blame where it goes,i was at the south pitt game, and williams should have never went back in the game, but your coach pushed him right back out there, your coach has to instill discipline in the team, and there has to be consequences for those actions, not just by the tssaa, but by the school.after what he did to Greenback in the playoffs last year, he should have been released from the team, and we were not the only team he did that to all year, then this year.Winning isnt the only thing you have to teach as a coach in high school. The example has been set there, win first find morals later. The basketball coach did the same thing.Once the coach has put his foot down, then some of the leadership will start to show on the field.

  12. I have a feeling Greenback may be pretty good, they were really young. Midway or Harriman could also make a little noise.

Pujo,Grace will again be strong, south pitt more than likely a contender again, and yes the cherokees of Greenback will be in the hunt, whats funny Pujo,we will be younger next year than this,BUT these young kids can play football, seymore our freshman running back got district rookie of the year honors(over 1000 total yards this year)we will be back to playing Greenback football next year, unlike this year the kids are excited and are in the weight room like you wouldnt believe!look forward to keeping in touch through the off season, good luck to your dawgs!

  13. Yes the younger Ault has a ton of potential. He was one of the only underclassmen to play in the Rocky Top Fall League and he was able to hold his own with some of the best talent in East TN.

Come on guys i agree with most of your comments, but mabry and Ault both were way out of their league in the rocky top,Mabry has regressed since knee surgery and Ault will take at least two years to develope he is not even close to helping, his brother was a heck of a player,i will agree you might want to develope some of the sopomores, and jones next year may be a contributor, but hilton will for sure, why take him off varsity, that was my question, right now he plays circles around those two sohomores! If you need him at least he can play, lester is no where near the talent of hilton.NO WAY!Jones i believe will be in time.Ault will need a lot of offseason work.I watched the rockytop league, mabry and Ault both could not hold their own!

  14. Your right Skippy, what LC needs is one more sub 5/9 guard to have the most in TN HS history. Looking at Prepxtra, 5/5 135, 5/6 140, 5/9 140, 5/5 145, 5/8 140, 5/7 135! What's in the water in Loudon County? I feel sorry for Windle if this is really the mentality of the good people of Lenoir City. Good luck to LC this year. :thumb:;):oB)

GURU,i totally agree with the size issue in LC,but this kid plays harder and has more talent than any of the under classmen with exception of hall,i guess what i mean is, i would rather have a kid i could trust to handle the ball and make good decisions, rather than have two inches taller and not as good a player, the kid may be little but he can play, the other two that he got pulled for are way less talented.Coach Wells had him on the varsity last year,so he had to see something in him,and coach wells is a much better coach than windle. The way it looks is small guards is all they have after Thomas and Hood. What other choice do they have?

  15. They are probably the most talented. They could go a long way if they gel.

dkm;How is their coaching?the talent is definately there, but look at LC,seen them play at seq,got a ton of talent, but they will miss coach wells something bad, windell looks lost at times, whats the deal with the other hilton kid not dressing varsity? Was on it last year i thought he was a jr,he's definately better than the lester kid or the jones kid,Did he get in trouble or something?i really like the way that kids plays hard all the time,he was a beast in the JV game best player on the floor!I figured they would contend for district,i say as of right now fourth at best.I guess the catholic game will give us a better look.

  16. TD RUN R. HALE 57-13 SP ... 44 UNANSWERED POINTS!

Well the orange and black prevail again-i think Greenback put 62 on em last year,i think pitt is gonna top that, given up over a hundred points in two playoff losses.Wow didnt see this big a butt kicken coming, thought they would be competitive.NOT!!!!!!!!!

Its back to the old recruiting trail tomorrow, no rest for Coach Mckamey. What you say Skippy.

Well pujo, everyone knows how i stand on this one, south pitt has always been a class act even when they beat our butts a few years ago,but we have given them a few to,always great to see two teams in orange and black go at it,we will be there shortly,NOW back to this one i told you all how this would play out dont understand how they keep letting this #5 on the field, court etc.he definately has issues he needs to tend to before he goes to college, last year he done the same thing except he done it to our allstate mlb/allstate wrestler jackie miller and got two ejected(CLASSLESS)and i am very familiar with his circumstances, but he still needs to be taken behind the woodshed and gave a good switching.Public schools are just that, a bunch of old guys who put blood sweat and tears in a program that they help build twenty years ago.they deserve the right to cheer on their team. This is something you Grace fans know nothing about, you have no tradition, money dont buy tradition, letting kids live with the pastors son so they can play for you all, thats not tradition, bringing kids in from fla to play bball and finding them someone to live with is not tradition,TRADITION is what came to knoxville last year and this year.Tradition will kick your butt!I really think Grace will be back stronger next year,it"s funny how that happens, but i do expect that. But still i would take the community school over the private as far as heart and determination is concerned, when grace came to GB this year i didnt give us a chance,no one else did either, but we dont play the game those young men do,and they were not going to be embarrassed and played their hearts out,oh yeah, and i almost forgot grace had the FLU,thats the only reason we were up 28-0.I guess the FLU bug came back last night because south pitt FLU past grace haha!and as for attenchun, you played well this year, dont let the classlessness of your (school)bring you to their level, keep you head up,you should do your talking on the field and not on old man boards, people lose respect for young men with attitude!PUJO until next year in this forum, good luck to the bulldogs in bball,we are very down this year, lost eight srs,and have a new coach trying to find his way=long year ahead,we will see you all in the climate controllers classic, until then,ROLL PIRATES,bring another gold ball back to east tenn!

  17. Does Grace have a track around their field?? With little seating I am sure it will be 4-5 deep around the field from our folks....Knox will be packed out Friday Night...Good gate it seems like...glad we get half

There's a big hill that the stadium sits at the bottom of. I can't remember if any part of it is inside the fence or not. If so then it could offer a view to those who get there in time.

seating is outside the fence,if they have not done some work on the visitors side,it was awful last year, had to walk through the mud to get to the visitors side, very hard on the older people had elderly ladies fall in the mud trying to go around the fence to get to the visitors side, last year they had portable bleachers that may have held 60 people.hopefully they have worked on it.at first they wouldnt let us walk across the field to get there, after people started falling in the mud they let us.Remember the words GRACE CHRISTIAN,after the game gets started, amazing how quick they forget!

  18. The "loss" of E. Williams, not the loss to Grace Baptist, sorry for the confusion.

The loss of Eric was tough in that game because they were a very big team. Not saying it would have been a different outcome, but it would have been alot closer of a game because we would have been able to have a bigger rebounder in there, therefore opening up the fastbreak more because the guards would not have had to worry about rebounding so much. The addition of Dillon Pridgen did help out the loss of Eric through the season though.

Pridgen was a much better ball player than eric was,i only seen eric play one very good game and that was against GB in the region tourn,he played a very good game, our post players didnt show up in that game at all!Pridgen made grace a contender for the region, good ball handler, very dangerous three baller, eric is not a consistant player on the basketball floor, really good footballer, just doesnt look comfortable on the bball floor. The post that chill had before this one,why Tellico is a contender for the district is because the are tradionally a decent 2AA school, moving to 1A the bears will be able to dominate smaller 1a schools. It would not surprise me,and after seeing them play marion county(6'9 coty henegar)and beating them to win the region....This team is no joke!

  19. bring a blanket and sit on the hill :thumb:

I hope they have done some work on the field and visitors side last year in playoffs it rained and it was a total mess on the visitors side, but who cares, isnt this ironic two years in a row they get put out by the two best single A teams who wear orange and black.South Pitt dont let us greenback fans down, they thought they had a chance against us too last year. But be careful if they get behind and think they have lost the game they will start coming after your better players,so be disiplined,we went into the oneida game minus an allstate MLB and a great defensive back because of that crap,Tradition will win this one, south pitt by two scores.Remember they are still a pretty good team!Just not as good as the pirates!

  20. Well all good things come to an end and I'm proud of the bulldogs. Idon't think this was a case of lack of effort. Ithink the boys played their hearts out. Rockwood was a better team than I thought they were and they came to win. We didn't have an awnser for um. Congrats to Rockwood, hopefully you can win next week. To all the Hampton seniors, really proud of you guys, I think you exceeded expectations. For the younger guys, its time to go to work. Next season will be here before you know it , you will be as good as the work you are willing to do. Again ,Congrats to Rockwood. Take it all the way.

Hey pujo, everyone knows i am a district 3 fan except for the GCA,but i did not comment on this game all week,i figured it to be all hampton, did not expect this one wow!good job tigers.hampton we down here in greenback have your respect good job this year!

  21. Who won between Maryville & Anderson County?

    Anderson County 76, Maryville 66.

after last night i'm having a hard time believing 4aaa will be as tough as it was a year ago, maryville seems a little down,LC is missing the ault kid something fierce wont have enough size to compete for district same for WB, i know its still football for some of these schools, but i still expected more.catholic also.

  22. Ok, I thought I would put my two cents in. 1st off, classy posts by everybody. It's good that we can have passsionate discussions without namecalling. Kudos for Chattanooga fans.

Let's 1st generally address Chattanooga Basketball:

Good talent & coaching at A & AA. AAA is a little young right now, but we'll know more as the season progresses.

District 6-AA may be the toughest district in the state. Each night, every team can be beat. Yes, Howard, Red Bank, & Tyner has some good piesces & experience and could be considered favorites, but all are subject to "parental/ fan intervention" and at that point anything goes.

I expect Arts & Sciences & Grace to be pretty good, possibly sub-state & state level. Grace does have experience, particularly in the backcourt, which is crucial.

McCallie should make a run for the state. Two top 100 players (in some ATL circles they talk about the SG like he's the next Lebron). Good, experienced coaching & good shooters returning.

Howard: I know I said I was talking about individuals, but Howard plays as one unit. Great defense! returns most players from a 4th ranked team in the state.

Michael Bradley: Bradley's back to the basket game needs work, but his faceup game is a lot better than he's given credit for. He has a good motor & runs the court well. Above all, he works hard, is coachable , and he's 6'9!We (myself inlcuded)have a tendency to superinflate our own knowledge of basketball & minimize that of the people who are paid to do it. I'm certainly not in the position to argue with the coaches from UConn, Boston College, Drake, Georgia, etc. He was also ranked top 100 by Scouts.com. Doubt that anyone else is either.

Yes bradley needs work,he's also younger than most seniors(just turned 17)only been playing basketball for 2 and a half years,i saw him play against two division 1 seven footers in louisville(minnesota playground)and he wore those guys out,he plays better against bigger kids.He will be a good ball player just needs some time and good coaching in college.he does play alot better with his face to the basket,in college thats how they will use him he's not a traditional center, his shot has improved a ton,odd that he missed his freethrows.Good luck Big mike! The reason big colleges are looking at him is because he's a very hard worker, listens well, and you can't coach 6'9!He's actually 6'10.

  23. No one will whoop SP...I promise ya that...I think we could mercy rule Harriman and beat Grace by at least 3 td's....We have a tough game this week though but if we take care of business like I know we will are ticket will be punched for disneyworld or whatever you call yalls place up there.

hey powerp,i've seen some good south pitt, greenback matches through the years,so i know good football teams, you guys are loaded without a doubt,i do think you all could mercy rule harriman, but that wont be the scenario,Grace is a very versatile team, not hard to figure out but the have alot of talent, personally when you all play grace it will be a decent ball game-However i do see you all winning by at least two scores(or at least 10 points). But dont leave them hanging around or they could be trouble,i still think grace wins against harriman big!
