  1. Is this the same school that played UC for the 1a basketball championship a few years ago, had the big 7 foot kid. Just wondering?

i believe the 7 footer you are talking about was carter mcmasters. he played for the grace in chattanooga and yes i believe they played uc in the championship a few years ago. the grace they are referring to on here is grace christian academy in knoxville.

  2. Oh whitenite I'm glad all the fans aren't like you...we wouldn't have a sports program...by the way when was the last time you actually PAID to see the Dogs play???? You're a real supporter!! :thumb:

since you are the Bono of hampton athletics with all of your charity work. i'll tell you what, i'll pay, and you can find me at the game and i'll give you my ticket stub if that will make you feel any better.

  3. I surely hope they will be alright. I always wish them the best of luck! And I too am an avid supporter physically and financially!

oh my bad. from reading your other posts it seemed like you got some satisfaction out of seeing them lose so you could get on here and tell the coaches all the things that they are doing wrong. you can consider yourself a supporter if you want to. i just think it is a shame that out of all the good fans that hampton has there is a few in the stands like you.

  4. Well well did we hit close to home? I'm not on here bashing any players and I don't have any kin on here. I have watched and played more basketball than most. No I'm not wanting a coaching job but couldn't really do any worse. As much talent as these guys have they probably could play street ball and do as good. So if you don't like CoachT and think it's so bad then why do you get on here and read it? I guess you're just nosey like everybody else... :D

first off i support the coaches and all of the players, if thats what you mean by hitting close to home i guess youre right. also i believe you referred to #13 being a ball hog. i would consider that bashing. he is playing pretty good right now in my opinion. i think coach white has played a game or two and watched a few games of basketball as well, he deserves a little more respect than you are giving him. i agree the talent is there, but talent dont win games teams win games. we just got the football players back and as a team we are not in sync at all right now. your complaining and coaching strategies and are not going to bring this team together. give them time they will be fine.

  5. TD youre exactly right...the Dogs need more motion or flex offense, but the problem is they don't have anyone to teach it to them. The old offenses and defenses (1-3-1) is so outdated that opposing teams are tickled to death to play against it. Just put a couple of decent shooters in the corners and you can have a field day. Hampton proved it last year. If we had coaches that were on top of things they would adjust or watch films and see what needs to be done. We also have a glory hog or two that panics if they dont get to shoot the ball every time down the floor. GOOD COACHING can fix that problem too. I noticed several times the big guys would post up and beg for the ball but no one wanted to give it up, especially #13! Your right also, what worked 30+ years ago doesn't work now. How many parents and fans would like to see a quicker paced game from Hampton, instead being 8 points down with 56 seconds to go and trying to walk the ball down the floor and set up a play that didnt work all night. If the boys are gonna go to the state tourney they are gonna have to do it themselves. They have the talent but they just got to play better as a team and yes it is early I can only hope they hurry and get things worked out. But guys be careful and don't make a mistake because that wonderful coaching staff is ready and eager to "jerk" you out of the game if you do!

well i told myself that i wasnt going to post on here anymore but here goes. this stupid coacht does alot more harm than it does good for high school basketball throughout the state of tennessee. i dont understand what some of you people have accomplished that makes you believe that you are so much more knowledgable than our coaches. did it ever occur to you that we may have lost a game because the players did not play their best game, and the other team played good. Not because "they need more of your "flex and motion offense" and "less 1-3-1". my guess is that you are a jealous parent or uncle that and wants your kid/nephew to be catered to by the coaches and rest of the team. i am under the impression that you are much older than me and it would be benificial for you to stop and think about what you are posting before you get on here bashing players and coaches. im just tired of listening to self proclaimed coaches all around me everytime i go to watch a ball game. i honestly believe that this team has a bright future in front of them on the basketball court if the parents and fans will let the players play and the coaches coach. thats just my 2 cents.

  6. Let me get this straight that you think the post players played well. Never in my life have I seen such stuff. Laziness abounds. What could be but never will be, and that is not a slap at the coaches. It wouldn't matter who was on the bench the post play would never change until they (players) have a change of heart and actually play hard, which they never do.

Do you ever have anything positive to say? I dont expect an inexperienced sophmore to get thrown out there and dominate, neither should anyone else. It sounds like you are a knowledgeable enough person to understand that it takes time, and good coaching (which we have) for a player to progress and reach their full potential. Either you are not very patient or you are just flat out jealous of this team and just want to tear the team down with your constant criticism. Hampton will suprise some people this season, wait and see.

  7. Not many good signs now. Is this a team/program in turmoil ? I keep hearing rumblings, not from the parents but from the players. They want some new leadership, has anyone else heard this ?

you are a dumb@ss. what is so bad about hampton's team/program? hampton's young team is doing very well considering the competition they have faced thus far in the season. the players i have talked to speak highly of white. i dont understand you people. this team is doing much better than what people expected prior to the season, and it is only going to get better as it goes on. jealous and overly critical people like you is the only problem i see right now.

  8. Who quit or is it just rumors?

i heard that drew chambers wasnt playing to focus on baseball. i'm not positive but i dont think jeff peters is playing either. i also heard that the taylor kid wasnt going to play but i think he is now.

  9. yea maybe a few more if your program has actually accomplished something in the past couple of years. but like you said pujo grace has not won anything. i see why their coach is so overconfident about this season now. he has a whole new team. the old grace coach must be a better recruiter than pete carrol.

  10. it seems a little suspicious to me as well. plus if im not mistaken dont kids from a nearby school play football for grace because their school doesnt have a football program but dont attent the grace. if true are those added on to their enrollment? i feel like public schools are getting shafted from all angles. thats just my opinion.

  11. how many kids does grace have total? and does the multiplier apply to them like it does other privates? with all of the transfers they have coming in their numbers should be growing rapidly. heck if they have 5 just transferring to play football its untelling how many others they have coming in.

  12. I'm not positive ,but my guess is one of the teams will be Davy Crockett. The other could be Chucky Doak. Congrats to the kids at the weight lifting competetion, I keep hearing positive things about the up coming team.

any ideas of who we could be seeing at qb?... if not DR

  13. I don't think anyone is doubting Hampton. The reason every team in the conference is working so hard is to get to their level and knock them off the top. I would have to say Cloudland is probably working harder right now. Coach Turbyfill has really got it together. People who come to Orr Field this fall will be impressed with the improvements to the facility and our opponents will be impressed with the new field. Rennovations to the weight room have been made and every kid is bulking up with new lean muscle. With coach Robbie at the helm along with the dedication of the players and coaching staff, I don't think Cloudland will ever be pushed around again. People up here are busy as ants trying to make everything come together. Our main weapons will be Tipton and Morgan. Tipton didn't play basketball so he could bulk up even more and get faster. Tacklers won't be wrapping up the same Tipton as last year. And Morgan's athletic ability speaks for itself. As for the lack of toughness comment, kids tend to get tougher the older they get and the longer they play the game. Cloudland will have a stingier defense and a more potent ground game than last year. The hard work in the weightroom will show up more this year than it did last and will translate Cloudland into a serious challenger. I don't know much about Cosby's players, but I know they have some coaches with tremendous character and motivational skills. Hampton won't have an easy time when they go to the nest and they won't have it any easier when they go to Grace Christian. People have opinions and they make predictions, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say Hampton will lose a conference game this year. I'm going to keep who I think it is to myself for now. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

i hope youre right about cloudland because i really want to see cloudland at the top of the conference with hampton instead of private grace. i am sick of seeing privates buy their success. although i am oviously hoping hampton wins conference i really do hope cloudland has a successful season. i havent heard much about cosby, do they get grooms back?

  14. it's not going to suprise me at all if hampton wins conference again this year, or heck even make a good run in the playoffs. i have heard that the jones kid might be the one filling the spot at qb. he will only be a sophmore this coming season, but i've heard that he has potential to be heck of a qb. he's a good athlete with a good head on his shoulders. grace will probably be improved, heck if you can recruit you never really loose a whole lot so i would have to put them at the top of the conference as well. the kids at hampton i hear have been working really hard, i think hampton will make will make believers out of some ppl who are doubting them. i still see a pretty dang solid team focused on this upcoming season. i guess it's like they say "tradition dont graduate"

  15. I am looking forward to the game in September. I'm sure Hampton will be tough, even with graduation. Smart, tough kids. Great coaches. Just a classy school, great competion. I wish the coaches would play this game every year...but meet on a neutral site, maybe around Knoxville. It's a long drive to Carter county. Maybe we can get a win this time! The Bulldogs have absolutely crushed reg 2 for the past few years.

I would like to see Grace play this year also. I caught the end of their game with Coalfield last year on the radio. What a great coaching job. Fearless play calling. Got to love it. And, Of Course, be looking for them lil guys from Cloudland to bring home the championship this year! Man, it's only March!

i agree smashmouth, it would be pretty cool if they could meet at a neutral site to play this game every year. that drive takes alot out of the kids. i have always enjoied watching oneida's football team. they are a very well coached team. extremely diciplined, their defense will be second to none in east tn. i will be pulling for you guys when youre not playing hampton. good luck. now grace on the other hand, it is really hard for me to pull for them considering the cheap tactics they use to build thier athletic programs. i'm totally against privates bringing in kids from other schools just to play sports and not attend their school, and the other school's number of kids is not even counted towards graces enrollment. its a little cheap if you ask me but they always seem to get by with it. the tssaa needs to wake up and realize that this is an unfair advantage for privates and publics to the in the same classification. it's not about winning or loosing, its about fair competition.
