  1. by position....hmmmmm well another year under his belt and a year wiser francis is looking better and more poised at QB.....the RB's are stronger than ive seen at west for year....seniors williams and simmons are ready to make their senior year a memorable one, and junior freeman is ready to step in if needed......the wide reciever are strong again with seniors gyebison and baylosis leading a outstanding group of recievers......west brings back all 5 starting linemen from last year.....with kolinsky, reid, and sowell standing out.....the defense brings back most of its starters from last year west lost 2 linebackers a corner back and the nose guard but have plenty of guys willing to step in and fill in....and with thompson back to kick the special teams is well just special......look for him to put it through the uprights off the kick-off again......south ur up

just curious tell us about west next 2 top canidates feeling in the LB's shoes?

  2. Second Hand: Much better than yesterday, which is a relief. East and Central similar in speed, skill, etc.

South looked a little more polished than those two.

To reach the lofty heights, they need to be a LOT more polished.

how did both the QB's look?

  3. Well, I didnt get a chance to see them much during Spring Practice, but the O-Line looks to be in REAL GREAT SHAPE this year. Keenan Sheppard will rack up at least 1500 yards this year whhile I see the WR and SE looking to have some of the best games of their High School Career. How about South?

well we have the best O line since 06 imo and 2 all state linebackers and a good amount of experienced players at about every position on both sides of the ball....south's 2 biggest problems are our DB's and the chemistry with the QB and WR which i'm sure stacy and jerry will have them ready to go by week 0

and our running game should be really strong this year

how much bigger has sheppard got over the off season?

  4. greetings everyone, i hope everyone enjoyed the holidays i know i did ; )....and man i must say it feels good posting on here again even though ive been keeping up as much as possible on the information for the 09 Rebels and i must say i think the rebel nation will be in for another great treat out of this senior class! although they do have some mighty big shoes to fill but i think the biggest thing is getting St.Clair ready to run the O.

btw Congrats to beedle he earned it and best of luck to him for the next 4years.

one more other thing does anyone know what they are gonnia name our conference next year?

  5. I think the defense next year will be more talented next year due to the amount if experience the underclassmen got this year. I think Little Garvin will not be playing defense next year. There is the plenty of depth on the d line as it is.

he is a LB/and there really isn't alot of depth on the D line were only about 3 deep experienced wise

I'll agree with you on track improving our football speed.I did not know Coach Hilton was taking on the track team. that is great news for football and track. He will do a fantastic job and I bet participation in track improves.

he was also a coach last year.

  6. Whether Stacy chooses Aaron or Heath, South will be a one QB show. The backup QB will be just that...a backup. If Heath starts then Aaron will be the OLB and 3rd or 4th WR. If Aaron starts then Heath will be the backup. He seems to be a bit injury prone. And, that statement may be a bit harsh I just couldn't think of a nicer way to put it. Aaron, on the other hand has proven to be very durable. Aaron has provern his ability to run Stacy's offense. Heath has proven he has inherited the best of Curt Phillips and Bradley D'port in one package. His arm is D1. He must develop the rest of the package. My view is that Stacy will choose Aaron because he is ready to step up to the plate. With Aaron there is no doubt we will run the ball and throw short to medium balls. That is too bad because "Z" has proven to be a KK replacement. Precisely the thinking behind the two QB mentality. It is just my opinion that Coach will go one way or the other. I like Aaron's calculus mentality but Heath was walking 'em down the field against Jeff County. A good problem to have I would guess.

At RB it is set. If Aaron runs the O then the only accompanyment to Bobeye is WW and/or Hubbard. WW does not understand the O yet but has the experience over Hubbard. My choice would be Hubbard because he has the "Bulldog". I see Bobeye busting 20 carries a game easy. Not to mention the fact he can catch.

WR's? Well Ellis' number is bought and paid for. He just needs to work on speed between now and then...can you say "run track". Seth must come to terms with his position. I hope he does...I feel he will. Otherwise, I see Taylor Rowland stepping up. Just remember Taylor...two hands on the ball. I see TE's playing a larger role in this O.

I think the '09 Rebels have a very good forecast and I wish them well.

comp, not to take anything away from the kid but......do you really think he has the speed to be a wr.?

  7. Sorry about the ticket info. They had stopped selling them at the school by 4 and i got my info from someone inside the football program. Glad you made it down though

yea but i made it down a little late so me and my buddies had to sit on top of the gate on the visitor side the whole time /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  8. I think he really likes that score RealRebel LOL, has a reason to i suppose /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

    yep,so will we when we whopp db next year /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

  9. so i'm glad i didn't listen to ryanD! took my chances and went on down there to greenville and they were still sellin tickets at the start of the 2nd. quarter........show what he knows /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  10. Well, the last time I did this, one of the South's parents climbed my butt, because my opinion left their son out, but here goes:

QB--Aaron St.Clair, Senior, with Junior Heath Haden making a run, but Aaron will prevail.

RB--Boobi Taylor, Wes Williams, both Seniors, with Jordan Cassell and Hubbard (both Juniors) possible stepping up.

Center-- Junior Nick Solt, returning from 1st team OT.

OG---Senior returner-All Conf. Ryan Fuller on the right side, and Taylor McGothlin, Senior, on the left.

OT---Returning Seniors, Sam Conaway and Zach Ervin

Jake Logue, Senior, defensive starter, could also help on Offensive Line, as well as Sophomore C.J.Morelock who

had a great freshman season. Austin Hyder, if he improves his footwork and footspeed.

TE---Returning Senior, Ty Garvin, and returning Senior, Clint Phillips

WR----Returning seniors, Seth Waterson, Dillon Ellis and Ashton Zanoni. Will need to find a 4th--may come from Jordan Cassell, Drew Shanks, Cody Shipley.

    Def:::

Linebackers---Returning All-Conf. Seniors Ty Garvin and Clint Phillips on the inside. Caleb Anderson, Senior, could

take over one of the outside spots left by TJBlanken,--- and Aaron St.Clair, Senior, on the other side, but doubt

the starting QB will play defense-------look for Sophomore J.C. Garvin to make a bid for that spot. There's also

Juniors Hubbard, Griggs, and Senior Long --all there to make a stand for a starting LB spot.

Nose Tackle----??? Just don't know--it's wide open for someone to "meanup" and take.

DT---Retuning senior, All-Conf Jake Logue and senior Dillon Hammonds.

Corners---Returning Junior Taylor Rowland and returning Seniour-All Conf Safety Ashton Zanoni.

Safeties----Returning Seniour Dillon Ellis and Junior Jordan Cassell--is my prediction.

I believe this about does it--I wish I had a program handy---may have left out a few.

all in all good post!, my prediction's are about the same maybe just a tweak or two differences......IMO St.Clair and Hayden will share qb roles for the most part...unless one of the 2 step up significantly and fills in the big shoes///hopefully it'll be st.clair since he's a senior, but don't count out Hayden add some weight on the kidd and we could be talking about another cp /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

little Garvin will step up to fill in one of the LB slots next year i believe he'll be bigger then ty by his senior year

If Jason Johnson works hard over OS then i'd say he could be filling one of the reciever slots

d line- Logue,Hammonds,Red Bone,Anderson.....and i see another stephen hopkins in jay conkin if he really bust's his butt in the weight room as well.

i also think Riddle, williams, and shipley will battle for the open DB position.

    and i'm pretty sure that's everything sorry if i left anyone out /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

i also think that this might be there first year in the last 5 years that south could become more of a running team with it's 4 great backs plus the QB......even though we still do have a pretty good recievercore for next /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

another thing SC will have to work on is the kicker who i believe is Joey Austin??? seems to be liking varsity experience.

all in all the rebels will be back for all another exciting season to go along with a new and improve exciting conference and schedule!!!

    Rebel Nation!!!

  11. No offence i don't think South would beat Greeneville 9 out of 10. Over the past 2 years its been split 2 to 2. I called the block kick before it even happend because your linemen had wide splits worring about # 13 Morrison coming off the end and let presser up the middle. Your lucky you even made it to the 2nd OT because if #99 Groomes would have layed out he would have blocked the extra point just like he did the FG. The 2 pass interference calls were not horrible at all you can't make contact with a WR when the ball is 5 yards away from him in the air. I agree region 1 and 2 were even this year. To say South would have given Maryville a better game when Greeneville hasn't even played them is a little ignorant. You had your shot last year and Greeneville has their shot last year. I played Against South last year and from watching the game last Friday South was better last year than this year. You can't replace a Division 1 QB who can lower his shoulder and run people over.

due to illness last friday night was the first game i wasn't able to watch the rebels play this year so the only information i had was from the radio, but lucky a friend let me watch a copy of the game and............well first off i'm not gonnia take anything away from greenville the deserved the victory over south the other night and as good of a team greenville is with or without Greenway the rebels are truly overall a better team then greenville. from what i have saw from the film south just didn't bring there A game IMO. the reason's for there loss are because they made to many mistakes, and against a team like greenville you just can't make that many mistakes! greenville just caught south with there pants down looking ahead at Maryville /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" and i know there is always woulda coulda shoulda in everygame but some of the calls from the officials were just crucial and unbelieveable against south period. i truly believe if south and greenville had a rematch that south would win without adoubt even though it is pointless to say because theres no way of knowing, but IMO south woulda beat greenville 9 out of 10 times this year, last friday night was just greenvilles night.

and your right south had there shot at maryville last year and now greenville get's there shot this year.

and i'll be there rooting for the devils all the way next friday!!!

and not to take anything away from g'ville but if you could just barely pull that win over south then more than likely you'll need a miracle to beat maryville i'm not saying that it's impossible because it's not i mean every dog has it's day like greenville did against south but the chances of that happening back to back well are HIGHLY doubtful but you never know /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

with all that being said ill be rooting for greenville all the way next friday and praying for the unlikely upset!

    Good Luck To both /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

  13. I don??™t have a wife! Don??™t need one, all I have to do is come to your house to get all I want. he! he! he! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

OHH Buddy C'mon over to my house and trust me you will get all you want /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

    P.S. it'll be more than an armlock /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

  14. South isn't my team and the things you posted offended me.

armlock is just one of those redneck fans from bloomingdale who only takes his wife out on special occasions to mama's house as a special treat once or twice a month....if she's lucky /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

but don't mind him he's just been sittin and waiting on these boards the past few weeks for someone to finally beat the Rebels so he could try and bash us for finally losing a game and we made fun of his fine dinin 2star restaurant ,and his beloved raiders who couldn't get passed the 1st round this year /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> so this is just his little pothetic way of trying to get back at us.........to be he feld miserably /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />.

and by the way i'm starting to sense a pattern about why south can't make it to a state final game...maybe it's because Colonial Heights is located a little bit to close to Kingsport and heck everyone nows that there isn't such a thing as a second round playoff game if your a kingsport football team

    Rebel Nation.

And Barb if me and my buddies decide to come root for you all against the little red rebels next week do you think we could come pregame at your house and you and your hubby could tell us what is was like back in the day before we had internet or cellphones??? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Is Souths game with Maryville at home or away?

    it's away on our carpet field in greenville /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
