  1. Whats up with DaViews coach giving more talk time on the radio last night to OC star than his own. Is it always like that? I dont know what Oc would be without Fuzzell. But I know what Westview would be without Rechis the last 3 years. I know she is averaging 29 points in tournament. Don't know season. Last night westview down by 8 beginning game then a time out called, dont know what coach said but something probably like someone step up. Then Amber came out and scored right away and made a great mid court steal.Finished with 26 points. Great win by the whole team. I would rather have 26 and the W than 36 and the loss!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed!!!!

  2. I try to be an expert.... Thanks, lol

Rechis is a better shooter, but other than that..... it's Fussell

Don't take everything so personal, lol... I just think that Fussell is a better all around player. You obviously are a Westview fan. I've read several of your posts. I'll even go out and say Fussell is the best player in District 13AA and one of the best players in West TN just so you don't take it so personal against your girls.

13aafanatic, you seem to know what you're talking about in some of the posts of yours I've read. Let me ask you this, not trying to be smart, but do you actually think a team that is sitting at 12-0 or at 16-0 will actually be ranked 6th in the state in the first AP poll??? You know most AP voters in East TN will see the name Westview or Gibson Co. and what they've done in the past and see that these teams sit at 12-0 and 16-0 and will vote them high.

Not taken personally..... just glad your expert . Yeah a sure Weatview fan! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> GO WESTVIEW!!!

  3. Rechis is not as good as Fussell. They're both very good, but Fussell is SEC and Rechis is NAIA. We won't get into all of that, but Rechis is not as good as Fussell but they are both very good! I'm sure Rechis will get her points and she could end up with 30, it's possible.

Glad your the expert... what where you yardball.....

  4. Saw Westview play last night. Rechis was impressive! 30pts. Quick hands.. tipping ball causing turn overs. Makes it look easier than it is. Olds with 12pts. Two others with close to double digits. Can't wait till Monday! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  5. Congratulations to Amber Rechis last night for hitting over her 1500th point. She could possibly break Kendall Cavin's record this year!! (as a junior)She also has stepped up defense from past playing, Now is seen gaurding best players from opposing team more. She is a fun player to watch.. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> GO WESTVIEW!!

  6. We weren't yelling during the national anthem! As for the thing about the kid getting pulled out by the cops, I only heard and didn't see. One of the cops also pulled one of our kids down and straightened him out as well before the game long before Milan students got there. The cops told them to get in the stands and someone smarted off and they brought him down too.

For Butler, she's the second best player in the District behind Poston as Poston does have 2 years advantage on her. Butler COULD NOT be stopped offensively. She also had a quicker and taller Gray on her! Butler is the real deal and will lead Gibson Co. for the next 2 years! Don't forget, only 1 Senior starting this year and possibly the best Freshman class to come through Gibson Co. next year! It's going to be a great couple of years!

Second best player in the district, Don't know about that...Even unsure about Poston being the best. Shouldn't get hype for what you can do but what you DO!!! I see your from GC so your alittle bias.Butler very Good player with Good teammates. Also, other great players in district just as Good without supporting cast Yet!! AMBER RECHIS!!!!! CHASSIDY FUZZELL!!! SWAIM, REEDY!!! Just wait!!

  7. Felicia Huey, she did cause some big turnovers as did most of the girls. Tonight was the best defensive game I think I've seen us play. We cause Rechis to hit some very contested shots which you could do nothing else with except hoped she missed. Grace Ann Swaim was the story for Westview. I'm not sure how many she had tonight but I'd guess around 23 or 24. It was awesome for us to come back from the 9 point deficit at the half.

Grace Ann( 16 pts) good player yea but not story for Westview! Rechis as usual was!!! (17 pts) An awesome leader as always!!!!!!

  8. I saw it my friend. I've seen worse happen in basketball and usually a ref with good judgment and not letting his emotions get the best of him, give a warning my man. As far as taking the test and putting on the black and white stripes as you say, your right. The thing most are complaining about was the timeing. In order to be a good official, you have to not let your emotions get the best of you. A warning would have been sufficient since none had been given the whole game. It doesn't matter now, because he gave Gibson County a break. They will have the stongest 4th rated 13AA team going into regional play and are right where they want to be to advance.

You got robbed GC no doubt!!! I saw it and saw official he was not even looking at it he just saw OC players reaction. He callad her flop, just like they do every time OC flops when they set a moving screen. You came out better in the end as OC plays Northside if they win, they get Milan!!!

  9. This was the worst managed last minute of a game I have seen since Duke erased a 10 point lead in the last minute against Maryland 10-12 years ago. Maryland lost in OT, but Milan survived. In the last minute with a 7 point lead Milan had a senior take an 18 foot jump shot, a senior make an incredibly lazy pass for a turnover against the press, a senior commit a foul (her 5th) on a two foot shot that produced a 3pt play, and another player commit a foul on yet another 2ft shot for another 3pt play to tie the game. This total, complete team brain freeze resulted in overtime. Fortunately, Poston took over in the overtime and bailed out the team. This Bulldog team has completed an incredible January. They have vastly improved their man to man defense, rebounding and effort. They have also added the 3 ball to their attack, by finally convincing Hamm and Joyner to let it fly. They are on a good roll heading toward the tournament. But, to get to Murfreesboro, where this team should go this year, they need a few more improvements. Here's a little free constructive criticism, call it some "if you want to go to the 'boro" advice from a casual fan. #1. This team needs to spend major minutes discussing and drilling game situations involving the clock, fouls and shot selection. I would make them watch the last three minutes of regulation possession by possession. These ladies need to understand that they cannot win every game with their superior physical prowess. This team is bigger, stronger and faster than most anyone they play, but they must recognize when to use a little more brains and a little less brawn. I'm sure these things are drilled over and over but I just don't think the players are convinced of the importance of the little things because these same mistakes are repeated over and over. Winning hides alot of these little flaws but they need to be corrected to bring home a Gold Ball. #2. Chantel Poston needs to receive the ball on the block a lot more often. She does not need it on the wing. She always settles for an 8-12ft jump shot. Always. Chantel shooting a jumpshot from 10ft is letting the defense off the hook. Put her on the block and keeping working it until she can get a touch on the block. With a drop step she shoots from 2-5ft and would be in postion for the put back. How many foul shots could she shoot? How much foul trouble would it create for the opponents front line. If they drop down to double she kicks it to the 3pt shooter for an open 3. Pretty simple, but very difficult to stop. Put her on the block.

Awesome job by westview, put in all guards set up press stole ball tied score showed alot of heart. But the best tem in the district pulled it out in OT

  10. This looks like a game that has upset written al over it. Dyer County is improving and is capable of a big win tonight. Without Fussell Obion is not the same team. Dyer County at home is another plus for DC. Obion's Roney is still the best player on the floor tonight and she will do whatever it takes for an Obion win. But I'll go with Dyer County by 4 tonight.

Have you seen Roney play this year ?

  11. Chassity and Aubrey are two of the best. and as far as Amber and her 1,000 points, anyone whose job is to shhot every time she gets the ball would have that many points by now too

Give credit where credit is due. Amber has someone in her face the whole game and has still achieved a great honor.

Second in assists last year and probably second in it this year. Over fifty percent for field goal percentage. Come on...
