  1. Personally I think Whitwell has as good of a chance as any of the other teams you mentioned.

I'm a little more worried about Marion Co. than Sale Creek. The tigers have won by a very small margin every time they played MC this year.... The last Sale Creek game wasn't that close.

I'm just anxious to see how far Coach Z can take these girls.

All you can hope for is a region championship, once the substate team from 7A arrives the partys over :flower:

  2. I don't see CPA going to Division II anytime soon. Beating public schools is good for business.

CPA and Friendship Christian should both be made to go DivII. They bot h recruit on a daily basis and should be banned from Div I along with all the other privates or be made to compete at the highest level AAA in basketball and baseball and 6A in football. This multiplier is just political nothing more.

  3. Well shine season has been over for a little while here in beautiful Cocke County and I'm not going to brew up any fancy designer liquers for the city folk in the next few months, so I'm headed to Lafayette to watch some FCS Commander hoops this Friday. Hoping the two new FCS MS baseball coaches can meet me there. If any of you FCS CoachT folks see them tell them to save me a seat.

FCS boys win this District in a cakewalk.

Yah i couldnt agree more, just goes to show you nothing beats good recruiting these days! :popcorneater:

  4. They are going to be tough this year even if Teeter is out, with Jones and Morrisett even if they don't add anyone else.

Whatever! FCS has NO CHANCE and in case i was a little unclear let me say it again FCS HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING THE REGION THIS YEAR OR ANY OTHER YEAR THAT JACKSON COUNTY GIRLS ARE PLAYING IN THE SAME REGION.

  5. Im pulling for Jackson in this one, but I think Sunbright will be too much for them. I was informed that the QB from Jackson was NOT going to be eligible because of TSSAA Eligibility Regulations with his moving and participation with another program, which I believe was out of state. Heard this from multiple creditable sources. Anyone know the facts of this? Maybe someone from TSSAA can clear this up for us. TC1

First i've heard of that but if its true then JC will be in for a long year

  6. Sounds like there will be a lot of passes. JC's qb is pretty good, but he lost a heck of a receiver from lastyears team.

No doubt about that Godwin will be sorely missed on this team, you don't replace a kid like that in a small town like Gainesboro but there are others like Ethan Kirby, Hobie Leonard and Blake Bowman that are very capable of helping Goad out in the passing game. Godwin will be missed as much or more on the defensive side of the ball. He basically shut down one side of the field, so its going to be intersting to see how JC does this year. They lost some other very good seniors but the cupboard isn't bare, with Goads return at QB and a little luck i could see them back in the playoffs again! Go Big Blue!

  7. i'm not so sure Midtensportsfan has the guts to say anything on here about how JC will be doing anything in state. he basically got eaten alive on here once his precious Jackson County team got stomped by FC last year in region which ended their season. :roflol: :roflol:

Got stomped? So getting beat by 10 in a game the refs game FCS an 8 point possession with 3 minutes to go in the game is getting stomped now huh? Noticed the new billboard on I40 that FCS has up trying to recruit new players. How many other schools are allowed to post billboards up for new students in region 4A? FCS played well enough to beat us with ALOT of help from the refs. I can't wait till one person from FCS complains about a call this year because when you do its going to get ugly you can believe that! FCS has no local support most of the kids come from somewhere else there are no lifelong ties just hired help. So keep on crowing about winning a region game if that helps you get by with your pathetic life, here in little ole Gainesboro we will just keep polishing our GOLD BALLS :)

  8. Now there you go again.Yall are the ones that have Wayne Co and Jackson Co in the championship.I have not said Lake Co would win the stste.I said I think they have as good a chance as anyone.Again.Please post on here or copy a thread from me that I said Lake Co would win the State.

Can you not read? I never said you said they were going to win the state but you did say they were the #1 ranked team in the state and all you have talked about is TT Flowers and Carnation Hart. Its a team sport last i checked and the best team will win and that could be anyone one of the 8 left. They are all very good teams.

  9. Lets clear this up and move on. We were talking about Class A Gold Balls, Four of Jackson Countys Gold Balls are in AA. Bradford has 7 Gold Balls, Gleason has 3, Trenton has 2 so 14A has 12 Gold balls and 7A has 15 Gold Balls.

7A and 14A are the best two districts in the state.

Whoa whoa whoa you're saying that the 4 GOLD BALLS that Jackson County won in AA don't count? Say what????

  10. middletnsportsfan, as I said in a post earlier in the year your name tells us all we need to know bout you! You are a homer and it is ok your entitled to your opinion but maybe you need to call the other 7 teams in the tourney and tell them not to show because the inventors of basketball in single A Jackson Co. will be there!! :roflol: Maybe the other teams need to just hang out and play pick up at a local high school while Jackson Co. plays intersquad for the title!! :thumb:

Not sure why you're saying this to me, when bigster is the one saying how his team is #1 ranked and has talked about his individual players. Seems like this post should be directed towards bigster and LC but maybe ya'll are buds and you're trying to make me look bad. Whatever is all i got to say lets just play the game already.

  11. I haven't said Lake Co would win the stste.Yall are the ones talking about nobody can beat yall.Saying we only lost to Wilson Central by 1.All I have said is Lake Co has as good as chance as anyone.Again.You need to read better .

Think you need to re-read your own posts. you are the one saying how LC is this LC is that they got TT and they can do this and they are #1 etc... i merely stated my prediction thats it. I hope we get to play LC since they are so good. I guess LC will be the prohibitive favorite according to your estimations. lol :popcorneater:

  12. Now that is funny. You telling him to get out of the West and come watch some middle tenn teams.I have never met Glazed but if you'll go to the Perry Co boards ,he is all over those boards talking about Perry Co.Even has put the Lake Co boys down in a couple .Saying they were athletic but had no shooters. But the thing is..he is from middle tenn..has seen them all.Believe Perry Co has played both Wayne Co and Lake Co.Not sure about Loretto,as far as playing but probably has seen them.So there you go.You not knowing, but putting someone down from MIDDLE TENN that has actually seen all 3 teams.

Let me make myself crystal clear here. I mean the eastern part of middle tn (middle/east) as in where most of the gold balls reside, and to be more specific the upper cumberland area. District 7A has won the last 3 Gold balls and has more gold balls than any other district in the state outside of maybe Shelbyville when they were good back in the 90's and early 00's. The Upper Cumberland has always had the best girls basketball in it for years and years and this year is no different. LC got by far the easiest draw with Green County so i look for them to win that one, hopefully JC can beat a very good Loretto team and then we can decide this on the floor. Ya'll keep talkin LC up, i can't wait to see them cause they must be WNBA good if they are half as good as what ya'll are saying!

  13. Hey, you can give me a hard time all you want.....no thin skin on this guy.

I am more of a follower of several girls teams, but my preference is watching Central play - for many reasons. My 8th grade Granddaughter toyed with the idea of going to Central to play basketball, but has recently decided to play for McMinn County. She lives in Athens, so most of the girls on her school's team and AAU team will be attending Mcminn County High - which was probably the deciding factor. So, naturally, I'll be attending McMinn's games next year.....but will still want to catch a Central game every chance I get.

I do like to gig and tease around with some Livingston fans.....especially certain ones who think LA has a birthright to the state championship tournament - and how dare anyone else even think they can keep LA from their destiny. My message to them is that Naismith wasn't born in Livingston, TN.....basketball wasn't invented in Livingston, TN.....Pat Summitt didn't tutor under Livingston's Coach. Just because they're Livingston Academy and have won some gold balls in the past (to which I respect and commend them for), that doesn't guarantee them anything. A team has to go out and earn EVERY victory......just as McMinn Central will have to do if they want to win it all this year.

Don't let them get to ya, Livingston Aca isn't even the best team up here by a long shot. That title belongs to Jackson County who beat LA twice this year and the last time wasn't even close. Now McMinn Central vs Jackson County would be worth the price of admission! :popcorneater:

  14. Personally I would like Wayne Co or Loretto to win it all, but i've seen Wayne Co, Loretto, and Lake Co play multiple times and Lake Co is on a different level. Just my opinion.

You might want to get out of west tn and come over to middle/east tn and watch some teams that actually win gold balls... jus sayin.... :popcorneater:

  15. Lake Co has two athletes that have a lot of the same athletic ability as Jim Brown in T.T. Flowers and Carnation Hart so I like the players we have on our bus also.

Ummm Jim Brown is the head coach sir... He has won 6 state championships since 2000 and 3 runners up in that time span so what this poster is saying is that he is pretty darned good when it comes to winning percentage in Murfreesboro. JC has the best all time winning % of any team in the history of the state if my mind serves me correctly.

  16. That girl from JC wouldn't be 6'4" if she were standing on a crate. She's 6'2" max if that so don't let that bother you.

Ahhh a Clarkrange fan decides to chime in. She dominated against your big girl that much we know and she is only a sophomore!!! Our post player is the least of anyone's worry's. She is a very solid player on the inside and will make teams change their approach when coming inside. Our guards are what make us go but like Hardcourt said don't let anything JC does bother you, we really aren't that good. :popcorneater:

  17. Swanson. You MAY be right.Wayne Co may be the 2nd best team there. Are you saying Jackson Co is the 3rd best team there?..lol..Lake Co hasn't seen Jackson co.They have seen Wayne Co.Doesn't mesan anything but Lake Co won by 10 at Martin in a camp.Wayne Co does know about the speed of Lake Co,.Again..doesn't mean anything now.The games could come down to fouls, turnovers and I believe ball handling. The other teams may have big girls that are use to playing maybe slower or half court teams. Are the guards really good ball handlers. They may be..I'm just asking.Lake Co can play a half court game or transition.Basically if the other teams have good guards ,they'll be ok.Lake co may get in foul trouble but then again, they could get 10 quick points off the press pretty quick also. Also a lot of people may not realize the Lake Co girls have won a couple State titles in AAU ball. They have went and playedm in Florida in the nationals. All the teams are going to be tough but going to come down to a lot of scenarios, handling the ball, fouls, etc.

What you did last summer means nothing. If LC is that good then JC shouldn't be a problem :popcorneater:

  18. catsfan01, maybe you don't read well or comprehension is a little slow but I believe the shots were taken by midtennsportsfan not bigster. He said in his early post that whoever makes it to the state finals earned it and then just responded to the declaration of Wayne Co./Jackson Co. state final(guess the rest of us should not show up as YOU put it). He never predicted a Lake County championship like the others have. He just gave reasons he felt they had a chance.Sorry he or any other person has an opinion as well :thumb: As for midtennsports fan how can you say Jackson Ounty is the favorite, they have 3 losses so does Lake Co. The lady Falcons are ranked #1 in the state so I'd say they are the favorite. The Lady Falcons have not lost to a Single A team all year. Their 3 losses have come to 2 state ranked AA teams(one in OT) and a AAA team from KY in a Christmas tournament but if you guys want the favorite tag go for it lady falcons keep going about your business.Good luck to all 8 teams you have earned the right to be here now can't wait till wednesday.

I never took any shots at anyone i just made a prediction. As for you saying that Lake Co. is ranked #1 well that doesn't mean a thing to us. Thats a ranking decided by someones vote, it won't help you on the floor. How i can say that Jackson County is the favorite is because they are the defending state champions and have played a much tougher schedule than LC has. but you know what, that doesn't mean a hill of beans either. This will be decided on the floor the way it should be. If LC is the best team they will get a chance to prove it and so will Jackson Co. I'm sure LC has a good team so if we are both lucky enough to make it to Friday then it should be a great matchup!

  19. Your team is out.. BigDaddy pretty much summed it up, go over and whine on the girls boards

Only because of the refs. After monday night so is FCS. There is alot more Gold Balls residing in Jackson County than there is at FCS and that my friend will NEVER change! Go Patriots!!!

  20. JC starts out defending its state championship with a tough draw against Loretto. If they were good enough to beat Moore County then they are a very good team for sure! JC doesn't have a senior on the team but they have tons of experience and have arguably the best freshmen in the state regardless of classification in Jaycee Coe. JC is loaded at every position, 6'4 MaKenzie Hensley inside with district mvp Caroline Warden at point, Coe, Apple and Hope are as good as they get. If JC is hitting the 3 its over early if not its going to be a tough game. I say JC wins by 12, who you got???

  21. Maybe you haven't seen Lake Co play.there are a lot of people from West Tenn that have played against Lake Co that may disagree.Middleton had two girls around 6'2.Lake Co is use to playing taller teams and there won't be any team there any quicker.Beter have some good guards. Not saying Lake Co will be there..but also not saying they won't.I like Lake Co's chances as much as I like Jackson Co.But first we had betetr worry about North Grrene and Loretto,You're picking Wayne Co to play Jackson co in the finals so if that's true, you may as well give Jackso Co the gold ball because I think Loretto has beaten Wayne co twice. So by your calculations ..that bracket with Wayne Co in it must be weak.I knew we should have been lucky and got in that bracket.Oh well..at least we made it to the boro.

No i haven't seen Lake Co. play and i'm sure that Lake Co. is quicker than Jackson County. But LC hasn't seen or played a team as good as Jackson County is that i can assure you of. I'm not saying that JC can't be beaten because they've been beaten 3 times this year but in 2 of those losses JC's big 6'4 girl was not there and the other one was to AAA Wilson Central by 1 point, who is playing in the state tournament as well. LC is athletic no doubt but JC is a very well coached, disciplined and battle tested team. And they know how to win in Murfreesboro. I am not downing LC or anyone else so don't misunderstand me as alot of people do i'm just saying until JC is beaten on the floor they have to be the favorite. Loretto is a good team and it will be a tough game for sure i'm just doing a little predicting! lol
