Yea, because they have different seasons, at least California, and Florida, I know play in the fall, so when Bearden won their "National Title" a few years back it was only of the states that play in the spring.
very true brother! i would bet almost anything that no team from tennessee would be on that list if all the big states played high school the same time we did!

Thats a joke. I attended the MBA BGA match this past week and he was completely dominated by a junior by the name of Houston Oldham. Morrisey did absolutely nothing and was hurt for much of the game. And pk kicks are gimme goals most of the time in this league.
you are an absolute idiot and have no clue what you are talking about morrissey is one of the best if not the best player in the state and totally deserves the award. so what if he had one bad game he probably had an off night. i'm guessing you are a dad with a sorry soccer kid that wishes he was a tenth the player as morrissey so you get online to bash him?? cool man

i personally think this is gonna be a great game, alcoa has improved tremendously since the past years and we can all admit that this seems to be one of cak's weaker years...so what do you think? i'm gonna go out on a limb and say alcoa 2 cak 1

I agree with the ref. I have no complaints with Compton. Never have! He lets the kids play and he is fair.
I do, however, disagree with the rule. In this case, and many more cases in the soccer rule book, the punishment does not fit the penalty. If this is an "obvious goal scoring opportunity" then you would think the reward should be for the team to have a chance at a high percentage shot, which would be a PK. No matter where the player is in relation to the box. I think this would would deter a lot players for making this kind of foul.
Another problem with the rules is the fact that it is a straight red for bad language. I agree that bad language should be penalized, but I don't know if warranting a red card is necessary. How many times does a football player or basketball player curse during a game. I'd say quite a bit! But the penalty they may receive is at worst a personal foul or technical foul. Does this mean that they are ejected and must be suspended for the next 2 games. Doubt it!
I don't think I am alone when I say that the strict rules in soccer hold back on great competition! Some of these rules need to seriously be looked at to change.

i don't think a red card should be given for swearing at all. i know sometimes swearing can be harsh but what about all the times where a player gets caught up in the excitement or something frustrates him and he slips out a cussword b/c in his everyday life he is used to doing that? he should get a warning and i guarantee you he doesn't do it again if he has any kind of brain.
but as far as just making a call outside the penalty area a pk when it really isn't is ridiculous. i know it may seem fair when the offensive player has a clear shot at goal but think about the position you put the ref in when he has to decide when to give a team a pk when its outside the box. that really is so dumb and no ref wants to decide a game like that. what happened in this game sounds like what should have happened and the ref handled it perfectly. it is punishment enough that farragut has to play without mutt

Wow, quick to jump on cincy I see. I believe all cincy was doing was referring as to who Baylor's #2 and #10 were. In the first post, Dins didn't know their names, so cincy was just informing us of who they were. That's the way I read it anyway.

I was at the game and if any coach or player is proud to win by grabbing and taking a guy down from behind like that I would be ashamed. If that is what it takes for Farragut to win games then thats to bad. Nothing to be proud of in my opinion and I hope the loss of that player for two games costs them dearly. Very cheap and classless play in my opinion. Should have been a PK, if nothing else for the flagrance of the foul. Foul appeared to be in the box to me anyway.
this is such a dumb arguement guys!! personally i'm not a big fan of muth myself but it sounds like he made a very smart play in my opinion. there is nothing to be ashamed of in that play, i could have even saved them a game so good for josef

to get a full ride at memphis you have to be one of the best players in the state im not sure how many players did parker duncan im not sure about bradley do not think so

I definitely have to disagree with you....Cody is one of the best in the state....hes smart and strong and the ball...I hope your not just judging Cody by his High School performances....cause HS soccer is no where near as competitive as club soccer....I played against him all the time when I played club and everytime he gave it his all......and not to mention he does play for the Arsenal...who made to the semi-finals in Regionals last year....Cody CAN well be mentioned in the debate
oh no i'm definitely talking about over all i know all the good club guys don't care about HS its really just a time to chill and have some fun for them and represent their school. i have watched him many times in club and he is good and he makes smart decisions on the ball better than most kids in my opinion but i don't think he is one of he elite much less the best in the state, but we all have our opinions so to you i guess he is but i would not say so

I was really surprised to hear that Brandon was thinking of sitting out his senior season anyways. I know that your body gets physically tired from year round soccer for years, i have been doing it as well. But, for someone that is going to pursue an opportunity to play at the next level, wouldnt you want to play. So you have the best chance of winning a starting spot as a freshman. Also, i was surprised because i would think coach Berson would want his players to always play with the ball. So, good choice by Brandon to play his senior season and good luck to CAK.
well club plays in the summer so i'm guessing he was gonna expect to play then, otherwise not playing his senior year would be the dumbest thing he could have done, does their team still play though? i don't know if they are too old or not but if they aren't i bet thats whats goin on. just a guess though it may be for a totally different reason

the score against central was 8-1 at half and the coach still let him go in and score two more than a hat trick i just think that is classless but sure in a game in question i would never stop a player as you said about william blount If the game was in question but after coming back from an injury why is such a performance needed against obviously a sub par opponent
i can see what you are saying and it makes sense but i don't really think i would always pull all of my players i mean come on guys this is high school soccer!!! we don't all get oranges and snacks after the game is over! if you can't handle getting stomped then you should not be playing. trust me my team has been stomped plenty of times so i'm on the bad side of the situation but if a team was really WAY better than i us i would say do whatever. people should not act like little children saying ohhhh they scored too many on us thats unfair, take your losses like a man, i have plenty of times....PLENTY of times

I agree. Kirk Reynolds is the best player in the state junior or senior! I thought his time was 4.167? I could be wrong though. He has lightning quick speed and I actually saw the eyes in the back of his head! Isn't he on that great competitive team from Shelbyville? I wouldn't be surprised if he was talking with an ACC school as I type this message.

I can telll you who would of been the best player in the state....Zander from MBA who went to Greece to play. But he is gone so im going to have to say its between Morrisey, Webster, Bradley Jacobs
no doubt steve is better all around than webster or any of those other guys, zander was good too, but morrissey is just dang good. south carolina is lucky to get him

wow this whole thing is just ridiculous i agree with the people that say the two game suspension is stupid. missing the rest of the game and leaving your team out to dry and missing the next game is bad enough, tssaa stinks, thats the straight truth of it all no one around the world has this rule, its completely unneccessary.

pseudo i agree with you on several things, nathanial should not have been on that list at all he is not that good in my opinion- mainly just quick, also webster is better than mccoy in my opinion my team has played the crush a couple times even though they killed us everytime, webster was always way more of a threat than mccoy in fact i didn't even know who mccoy was until about a year ago b/c he never stood out against our team.
also i think that there definitely should have been more players from catholic like brian and wegryn
and i think that it is fitting that cak doesn't have anyone on the list, they would have if tarr played but now they don't and that is how it should be
and whoever said it was right but jake holt should be on this list, and tyler mottern is a shoe in for the list so i don't know why that was questioned he is probably the best defender in knoxville, although i hear he is playing some up top which is surprising but best of luck to him

dang siegal you just layed down the hammer haha. couple corrections tarr is going to usc-south carolina, and i think you mean stephen morrissey? who is also going to usc. also i do not recall TNFC getting killed by Cumberland but maybe they did if so did they have all their players? anywho i don't know who cavett is but obviously he can't be good if people feel so strongly about him on both sides, i would think that anyone would give someone who is good props even though they might not like them but cavett is gettin no props from his non friends...sorry man i feel bad for you

Thats really funny about Alex Zingale who didn't even start for his own Club Team the TNFC 91, where he was lucky to play even 10 minutes. Patrick Compton is a solid player, but has never won a 50/50 ball against Cavett, who is much stronger on and off the ball and just a better all around player. Whats really funny is that out of this group of players, Cavett is the only one who is part of a National Team. Cavett is part of the US Clubs (SuperClubs) National Team, which travels to England every year. Cavett also has several Division I and Division II schools currently recruiting him - Cavett is obviously someone to watch this year.
hahaha ok i don't know who this Cavett kid is and i have nothing bad to say about him, BUT what i do know is that the SuperClubs National team is a bunch of posers. i have seen them play before and i don't know who selects this team but they were horrible. they are kind of like a bunch of kids that got overlooked/should have been overlooked and made their own team which they then called themselves a national team. but there is only one national team for every age group and that is the actual nike us national teams.

Not whining, just disagreeing (which happens alot on these boards, too!). I think some of my boys got a little "ruffled" though. But that is good. Teaches character. come on guys this isn't even a question, cak dominates heritage and advances easily, they have been here way too many times and know what they are doing. all you who say heritage has nothing to lose and are gonna play hard, how about you look at at from cak's standpoint? they have everything to lose so they are gonna fight to the death, besides...would YOU want to be the first team to break the streak of state champions if you were them?? think about that one. good luck to both team though, should be fun to watch regardless of the outcome
