  2. Sorry we haven't covered much this season but got hung up in Florida with some jobs (I guess there are worse places than Panama City Beach and a ocean view condo to be stuck in. And we were right next to Spinners and Club La Vela).

Last year's videos were outstanding. Will we be able to download them as well if we miss the cast? Thanks

  3. ChattLax SL

Hey guys open summer league is June 3rd- July 3rd 5:30pm to dusk.

    Last year was a blast

This year we're inviting EVERYONE, so we want to see guys from ND, Baylor, Mccallie, Soddy & Signal. My guys & our new post collegiate men's team will be there as well so it'll be heavily diverse. Guys that have played for Virgina Tech & Ohio State, to first year players... so no expectations, no demands, all play

Info & such will be posted on www.chattlax.org & mocslax.com.

Online registration will be on chattlax.org

Online newsletter will run through mocslax.com (on the side)

If you have any questions you can email our secretary at mocslacrosse@hotmail.com

  4. funny you mention UGA so highly, I know they have one of, if not the best program in the south, that is the school I want to know most about, I don't have the type of GPA they averaging, and I was hoping if I talked to the team president he might be able to do a little something, I still have time to get my grades up some more, .....I might email the coach/head hancho and see if there are any summer camps that they hold, the only one I know that does that in the club world is GT, but its still worth a shot...

Yeah that's totally what you want to do. If you want it, you can totally do it. Especially getting that GPA up- it's very simple. A buddy of mine Joe, played for GT, I could talked to him about it, and see what he'd recommend.

irish- send me an email brotha

  5. Can you clarify that comment? That's a very misleading comment.

Sure can, check out some of the MCLA info right here: http://www.collegelax.us/faq.php

    Very good info^

(varsity being varsity-athletic department funded lacrosse teams)

Here's some examples (most team's don't put up their info but these do):

    http://www.sdsulax.com/ (the team)

    http://www.oregonlacrosse.org/ (about team)

The big 20,000- 30,000 population universities are the big guy club teams.

    It's the "Virtual Varsity" types

  6. hey andrew, do you know what kind of pull, as far as admissions goes, college clubs teams get at the bigger schools, if any?

I think only varsity status teams can award scholarships, and such. Title 9 has really prevented lacrosse from becoming varsity in the south & northwest. The crazy thing is that most big guy club teams, perform better than the meat of the varsity teams out there. Vandy, GT, UT, UGA, Florida, could easily go varsity & are run like varsity team; you have 50-60 men rosters with 20 that actually play, full coaching staff, $100,000 budget, travel crew... Some like Michigan are funded by the varsity athletics, but don't receive scholarships & the other perks as NCAA athletes.

But most of the big guys it costs to play. Like Auburn's cost to play a year is $1,200- $2,000, SDSU its $2,200-$3,000, Colorado State $3,000+, and some guys only play one year.....

For some teams its definitely worth it though if you're really into it. If you want to play at an SEC school, I'd highly recommend UGA. When we traveled down to play them they were really cool guys, I wouldn't mind buying a beer for them. Their execution and flow was really impressive, and they were very organized. The best thing to do to get help as far with admissions, is to go their camps & summer leagues if they have them, & meet all the players, officers, coaches, and go in as a complete hard charger. And just attack & work hard in the camps & games, and get after it. That's we and most teams look for- humble athletes, that are highly motivated & hungry to learn - as we are.

We run unto HS players every now and then, that are really cocky, and haven't been exposed to college play yet & think they can walk onto Navy or Virginia because they've score a few goals and such, and placed in a state championship. But honestly, players like that can only learn so much, & only peak in high school- when they get to college, they get a huge wake up. The most successful players in college are the guys that always look for ways to get better & that's something the coaches look for. If they really like you, they can definitely find a way to get you into the university. Especially UGA, because they many resources.

  7. How are you stealing centennial recruits, are they already at utk or are they still seniors...that doesnt make any sense

*UTK's recuits, that are from Centennial

Most of utk's past roster is made of Centennial alum, or at least the 0s (officers). Good guys too, we're working on a few projects with them that hopefully will turn out good... I also want to see utk & vandy kick ###### this year in the league

irishFO shoot me an email @ mocslacrosse@hotmail.com & i'll tell you

  8. The Mccallie FO is definitely creative, the 1st duel versus Ravenwood at that jamboree he popped the rock 6ft in the air like a pass to his wingman- good stuff. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

He also kept everything different, variable, and it was interesting to see his patterns of where he attacked the field in ball location and controlled the flow of the game.

  9. are yall any good? ill be there next year

We're getting there. We're new just like TWC, & Sewanee, though club, all new teams get whooped pretty bad lol. You'll fit in perfect - most of my guys come from Father Ryan. Also Franklin, Brentwood. We're stealing UTK recruits from Centennial next year, so I'm psyched about that. Pretty soon Mocs Lax will be the place to be....

  10. well I'm on the team, and I'm really proud of how the team played sat. at the jamboree, our defense played great- holding mccallie to less goals than they scored against ravenwood, and our new goalie had a great day- he played better than I've seen him play all fall/winter, he was just awesome sat...and I'm an attackman talking about the other half of the field, our offense will come along and I think we should do pretty good this year..

Yeah for the first half it looked like Baylor could have beaten Ravenwood. I think when the d irons some things out & the attack learn to play together, learn to attack space and play aggresively, and the mids develop top pressure - things will be very interesting for Baylor. Some time & development and they'll be very dangerous.

  11. Guys - I've been 'out' and couldn't find any info about where the individ state tourn is being held. I figured it'd be at the round house, but it's not mentioned anywhere. Where is it? lol

And I heard that Notre Dame qualified a good number this year? How are they looking as well?

    Thanks,

    AW

  12. We played them(Baylor) Tuesday night, and they were very efficient in their passing, transitioning, and offensive setups. They still made some basic mistakes you'll see in high school, but they're very good for a young high school team. A few of them practiced in the summer and fall with us, so they're well adapted to college club style play, and most of my guys are Father Ryan and Franklin alum, and thought they played great.

    For sure a wild card..
