  3. It has nothing to do with lack of respect. It has everything to do with lack of exposure and the fact that this forum is on life support. If you would have posted this four years ago you may have a valid point, but until a collection of interweb personalities with some knowledge get on here and put some life back into this thing to create more traffic and post, I would not use this forum as the barometer of measuring the respect for CBHS.

  4. dont be this cat........it;s the intrweb . Know wen your phat fingers are appropriate and when it is just in errelevant intraweb forum.

And yes, the democrat comment was a negative. I apologize. I just feel that for some it is easier to critisize kids and parents for trying to give themselves a statistical advadtage at the cost of hard work and financial burden. The future leaders comment is about all Tennessee wrestlers. There are studies that show that wrestleres are natural leaders. Why cant we try to build up these wrestlers instead of trying to tear them down. They are the leaders of the future, private or public.,;".repubican or demokrout

  5. you people sound like a bunch of democrats? This is how it has been for ages. You are the latest round of participants and your interweb post are the only difference. When my school district was destroyed the writing was on the wall and I went to or transfered to a private school. I was succeding in three sports. If I would have had to sit out for a year I can assure you I would have been extrememly upset as athletics were a big part of my life. Why penalize a kid for their parents willing to get a second morgtgage and sacrafise their life for the next 15 years so he or she can get a quility education and soacial experience. Of course the youth tournaments are filled with people all wanting you to go to their school. When you spend four months out of the year in a gym with other wrestelers, their families, coaches, and fans , you are probably going to talk to somebody about their school at some point. If you dont want somebody to like what someone else has you better keep them locked in the basement. I have no affiliation with Baylor, but I admire and envy their ability to get quality student atheletes. I remember when McCallie was the one that everyone focused on, and I am sure at some point the others will all have their time in the barrell. Your focus on wrestling is clouding your judgement and not letting you see that it is only a small part of the educational experience. one that hopefully creates the next leaders and successful people of this country.

  6. BCB is one of the last remaining coacht members on the wrestling forum that have made this place relevant. There where days where this place was full of comments...good and bad...funny and not so funny. Who would have ever thought a Cushman had a secret identity? From Harry to BCB to Stovepipe to mountain raider....this place and in particular BCB and his pre match meetings used to be a source of entertainment and knowledge.......not so much anymore...I'm all for TN wrestling, but not without some people that don't have to take themselves to seriously. Lighten up people. this is the interweb.

  7. I just don't see the TSSAA messing with the federal program of "NO Child Left Behind". If this case gets traction it could open up a huge can of worms throughout the country. This would be a supreme court case, not just a local football player being recruited. And all of this over an after school activity. If he was bused to Sale Creek would this be an issue? If Signal had won its games by 3 points instead of 33, would this be an issue? Lets not forget that every program has their share of issues. Signal is high profile due to their fast success. Are we as citizens, fans, parents going to try to be illegibility cops all over the country or just focus on winning programs? It will be a very slippery slope with this one.

From my understanding Signal has developed a program/ high school due to all the kids now not going to Red Bank, Baylor, McCallie, Notre Dame, Boyd B. , Chattanooga Christian...If the economy gets even worse, they may get even more athletes whose parents can not afford those private schools or just choose to save the money and attend SM.

I have no dog in this fight, just someone with an observation.

  8. Coverage? What Coverage? There was more coverage for the McCallie invitational and the Bradley tournament then there was the state traditional. If it wasn't for BBB and silverpie we would have been completely clueless.

Team Scores not updated, no coverage, tssaa website is from the Al Gore interweb days, a slow coacht, etc......... I know the TV coverage issue, but is a webcast out of the question or is the tssaa still say it will hurt the attendance?

Lets join the current age and make 2011/2012 a great year.

  9. Cutting weight, shuffling line ups, wrestle offs....... it is all part of the sport. It is not as much as it use to be, but creating an individual match-up and a stronger team line up is part of the sport. I cut 18 pounds to avoid the national prep champion when I wrestled in Virginia. Call me what ever you want, but I got tired of learning about moves I had never seen before and had no counter move.

I doubt he will even drop, but if he does it will just be more fodder for the all knowing internet wrestlers. Manly is a tough kid with a great collegiate style. Whoever, whatever, whenever, he wrestles it is a tough match. No one can win the amount of matches he has won without being a darn good wrestler.

With all that said, Baylor vs. McCallie, the state dual, and individual tournament will be interesting this year from 103 to the big boys. :thumb:

  10. You know I don't remember anyone from Boyd talking this way last year when our girls kicked Signal Mountain's butt in volleyball. I don't have a daugther still on the team. She was one of the 4 seniors that graduated off of last year's State Championship team. Boyd played with a setter who was an 8th grader. For those of you who don't know the importance of a setter, the setter on the team is like a point guard on a basketball team. For Boyd to make it back to the Championship match with an 8th grade setter speaks volumes for what they accomplished this year. I might add that this was the 4th year in a row that Boyd made an appearance in the State Tournament. In 2008 we were the only Class A school in the field with Class AA teams and we were state runner up that year. That gave our girls the drive to make it back last year and they dominated many schools including Signal. The 2009 Lady Bucs State Champsionship team had wins over larger schools like Soddy Daisy and Red Bank during tournament last year too Mountain Troll....Rachel Harper, who is a senior this year, is probably one of the best volleyball players to come out of Chattanooga. She signed a scholarship with Carson Newman...show some respect.

Seriously? I just had to delete my original response because I was sure it was going to hurt someones feelings.
