The blind-draw is scheduled for Saturday morning.

The biggest reason this game was played in MP and not L"burg was "home court advantage". THe summertown boys have been playing basketball in Mt. Pleasant's gym for years including this years district tourney. They have NEVER played in Lawrenceburg. What is the point of winning the Region if you still have to play in a gym that is unfamiliar?

Will there be tickets for sale at the gate?

Just heard from Mt. Pleasant, it is official. Game to be held in Mt. Pleasant. I believe that tickets will go on sale Monday morning.

PS. How does a 5'9 point guard from Summertown get tip off against 6'5+ players, not just once but NUMEROUS times?

IT was quickness and offense VS size and defense. It could have easily went either way. I will admit though that after all the hype about Culleoka's defense I was surprised to see that Summertown's defense was the biggest reason for the win.

im nor c'wood or S'town......Both Long and Thompson are great players, but (and im probally the odd man out) but my MVP would have been Logan Harville.

Anybody know anything about Wes Long??? I havent heard of this kid..

Wes Long is a pure shooter, mostly threes. Not really a re-bounder, or defensive player. He could use his size more on the inside, doesnt follow his shot. Great kid though.

My 2 cents........The team that plays like a TEAM will most of the time WIN over a team that depends on 1 player to carry them.

Prime example: Summertown, the beginning of the season they played like a well oiled machine. The assists were unreal. Most of the starters were scoring double digits and the other guys were getting on the board in single digits. They were passing and looking for the open man and it didnt matter who that was. They were getting the OPEN shots and not forcing much of anything. The second half of this season they are looking more and more like Wayne County. THeir new rule GET IT TO WES LONG AT ALL COSTS, and that cost is HIGH. He is scoring 25+points a game, but his shots are forced and sometimes he is shooting over double defenders, and less than half his shots are falling. Summertown as a team is a force to be reckoned with, too bad thats not how they are playing.

Every team has their "golden child", you build AROUND that player and not ON that player.

Summertown is averaging 86.7 points a game. To me thats a pretty sound offense. Not to mention that normally 5 players are putting up double digits, and most games ALL 12 players are getting on the board. Summertown is allowing an average of 61 pts.

I will say that Collinwood may keep it close the 1st quater, they may even be ahead by the half. But unless they have "cross country" distance runners or have 15 kids that can play, summertown will pull it out in the second half. Collinwood just wont be able to keep up with Summertown's pace.

Summertown has broken that elusive 100pt mark twice this season. 102 against Moore County on Novmeber 21, 101 against Loretto on November 25. Seems like it will take a very strong defense to stop these kids from scoring. Most of these boys are scoring double digits IN THE SAME GAME. Truly a team effort. Impressive.

I would love to have both Rice and Clifton on my team. That would be 1 unstoppable DUO.

i agree that this list will change as the year goes on but i think we can all agree that the battle of this district will be collinwood and summertown. you also cant overlook wayne co. and perry co.

lot of guys from summertown on that list do they really have 4 of the top 10 players in the district, and 3 of the top 5

Its just one man's opinion, and yes i actually think that they are that good this year. I seached many different "rankings and showcase" websites combined with personally seeing these kids play. The list will no doubt change as the season starts. So lets call this my pre-season guess-timate.

I have spent the past 24 hours researching 12A, and here are my top ten.

4. Tyler Thompson

5. Logan Harville

6. Drey Mercer

7. Jacob Gobble

8. Frank Campbell

9.Tyler Dickson

10. Bo Mathis

tyler thompson is hands down the best player in this region. i do agree that all the gaurds from cwood should not be on this list. #1,#2, and #3 are the best players in this district the others dont matter.

i got a chance to see Summertown's new PG in action this past weekend also, (havent really got a chance to see him since middle school). He has to be included in the top 5. If you havent seen this kid play yet, dont count him out.

I know these are generic answers, but these are the players that will have to step up on their team, if they are to take that next step. Summertown hasn't got past Region Semis. Collinwood can't overcome the Semis either. Wayne Co. hasn't got past the 1st round in Regions and Perry Co. has struggled to make it to the Regions. I am not sure of all of the kids names, but I do know they need to step up and lead their teams.

Your kidding right? I would agree with #1, #3, and #7. How can you place all the guards from Collinwood in front of #7. #6 shouldnt be on the list at all YET. He played this weekend and i got a chance to see him. He is tall, but he has alot of work ahead of him.

PC had JOMO (Peavahouse )this summer and he scored 50 he isnt here anymore.

every1 keeps saying that Peavahouse scored 50 against Stown this summer, but Summertown still won.

Both teams looked good during the summer and both teams had players that had very good showings at certain rankings and review showcases. I think i will place my bet on Summertown. With the transfer of 6'5 sophomore, the 3point shots of Long, and the ball handling of Clifton, they will be hard to beat.

Summertown has new 6'5 transfer. Something they have always lacked was a little height. Watch out for the boys in blue!!!!
