I have never seen the foul count so lopsided in a State Championship game! Both teams have fouled like crazy! Yall can say all you want but Tyreke is taking a beating!

He is by far the best athlete on the court vs the teams he plays in his district not even close. He might be the best athlete if he played in one of the west tn districts but it would not be by much. He wouldn't average 40 maybe 20-25

Hahaha are you saying still averaging 20-25 points against some of the Best teams wouldn't mean he was one of the best? How many players you know even average 25?

Sports Writers across the state vote who the finalists are.  That's the reason for this topic. To get the names out there across the state.  I understand the deadline for those votes was Fri. the 3rd. A panel will determine the winner before the State Tournament.

Jimbo, does Character play a role in nominating and voting for Mrs Basketball? 

Upperman was either 3rd or Runner up when Hull girls played. I am not sure about DeKalb but they have been there three years in a row.

I watched Livingston today and that sure didn't look like the team we played all year. What happened, nerves? DeKalb hit the ball very well as usual, their SS<I think it was ss> hit one out, but I watched five or six illegal pitches called on 15 and when she had to keep that toe down they hit off her. I know next year our umps can't use that line now , that it hasn't been called on her. So, good luck to DeKalb and Livingston, I hope someone from this area brings home some hardware!

Don't get it all over you Buc. Just the opposite, but nice try to divert it all on me, you let Livingston fans in your head and over talked it way too much on other threads. I was just getting you going.lol Don't feel bad they do that to us all season, just a few of them are over the top, most from LA are great. One of my best friends lives in Livingston so it is always like this with us.

The only difference is that you throw your banners and trophies around claiming that is what makes your team THIS YEAR good. I was stating those attributes to show that we have the coaching advantage. A championship 15 years ago doesn't make this years team good, BUT a legendary coach for the passed 34 years most definitely helps THIS YEAR'S Central team. Coach Morgan has been there every year. Your last championship team was gone a long, long time ago.

Easy Cody, I was directing my post to blitzinbuc. I didn't say anything about your coach or anything, I’m sure he is what you say. I was laughing at Buc and what he tells other teams when they talk about tradition. Where did I throw my teams banners around & trophies around? You got the wrong guy here because my team only has a Silver Ball. We play Jackson Co & Livingston every year & they do have tradition at those schools. Jackson Co. has a total of 10 Gold or Silver balls, second overall with the most titles & Livingston has 9 Gold or Silver Balls, third overall with the most titles. By no means does anything on the wall make every team every year good, you didn't hear this guy say that anywhere, but I know plenty of people from both schools & I know those banners & trophies in the case do make kids play harder without a doubt. So what is the harm in that? When McMinn C gets a gold ball, your players will be proud & future players will try harder & you will have your own tradition. Nothing wrong with that either.

I watched the game on the computer, and it was crazy how bad the refs were. They were consistent, consistently bad throughout the whole game!!!! I can’t believe you have that in a state tourney, ridiculous! Congrats to McMinn C & Cannon you had a great season and played great this year.

Johnny Morgan: 700+ wins, TSSAA Hall of Fame, 71% winning percentage, 11 District Titles, 10 Region Titles, 20 sub-state appearances, 10 state tourney appearances, 3 silver balls, 2 TN Miss Basketballs (after Saturday)...and you say coaching edge to CC? Good call friend.

Blitzinbuc, you going to chime in & tell Cody it’s not about the “Records,Titles, Banners, Gold or Silver Balls, or Miss Basketballs he has coached†or are you going to pick and choose who you apply your theory too? See I have watched you light the boards up saying all this “stuff†doesn’t matter like with Jackson Co. & LA but when the role is reversed & it’s about McMinn C you don’t say a word. Funny!

Guys, I am not even sure if buc is a true MC person, not sure so don't take them as a part of the blue nation. If so I think they are just giving an opionion. One thing is for sure WE will always taste the humble pie until WE win a Gold Ball. Maybe this will be the year. I will never say anything personal toward players - tis not needed.

 

LA honestly did not seem to have anyone that could handle the ball that well. I think this was the difference in this game, that and the fact that no one could keep Adams off the boards. Good Luck to you next year we hope not to see you again until maybe the state, cause even with the loss of Adams MCentral will be reloading.

I wish I could have watched this game….it was just too far for me to drive & wasn’t really cheering for either to win. I just listen to it on the radio & to be honest I don’t know what happened. Sounded like Central has a very good team & I know Livingston does too but on the radio it just sounded like sloppy ball which they don’t play normally…well not in the 8 plus games I have seen. Could have been Central pressure but Livingston is use to that so I don’t know? I couldn’t say one way or the other…. Central sounded like they have the team to beat to be honest. That being said I do have respect for Livingston….even though we love to beat them! I watched Livingston play Cannon Co 3 times this yr.. I know Cannon gave you your only loss….and Livingston controlled them in the 3 games I watched. You may have had an off night when you played Cannon I don’t know? I do know Livingston has some good ball handlers but that night didn’t sound they could handle anything. Anyway, I really don’t care.LOL The only reason I posted to begin with was to remind this guy to remember he was talking about kids. Oh….Logcabin…You didn’t see my team this yr but I hope you see them next yr! Good luck to you & maybe I will see your girls play on TV Saturday.

To me, if you get on a board you should be able to handle everything that comes your way,I'm not saying it's okay to belittle kids but the mental side of sports can beat you every time, I teach my kids about trash talk and how to deal with it, grain of salt..it starts early.. my son was playing in a all-star pee-wee football game a few years ago and his job against that team was to control the middle so they couldn't run the ball inside so we could load up on the outside at half time he told me the 2 kids that were blocking him said your no good blah..blah blah ..so he looked at them and said well it takes 2 of you to block me and you haven't gained any yards on me. We lost 14 to 7 on 2 long runs around the far end..so if someone has thin skin stay off the boards.

I agree...I can handle anything thrown at me but even if you tell kid to let it roll off their backs it still hurts them that adults get on here & go on the way they do. Fans get caught up in the hoopla & forget… That's all I'm saying. I could give two craps if either of the teams won that night but from experience seeing fans go at it on these boards they forget they are talking about kids.

My team is in 8AA & we love to beat LA…didn't happen this year...but next yr will be right back at it. LA had a good yr & you had this 8AA opposing fans respect. Blitzinbuc… as a fan you are about as obnoxious as it gets….so is Rabbit at times but at least he admitted he was wrong. I agree with the other post these are just kids & I know they read this crap. You’re not just hurting fans with your words you hurt the players. My nephew got slammed on here 2 yrs. ago in Baseball…he acted like it didn’t bother him but it did….I could tell with ever pitch he pitched he was thinking about the stuff said. You need to remember they are kids….. Blitzinbuc all I have to say is KARMA will bite you if you’re not careful….especially your team playing in the State.

Any time you play top quality competiton your points are not gonna be as high as the person playing nobody and scoring 30. Duh.

well i did follow her and have even after she left rbs and she did play the entire high school basketball season her 8th grade year. she played jr until the high achool season started and when the high school season started up she stopped playing on the junior high team to play for the high school...3000 points however long you play is an amazing accomplishment and it happed to such a great person

No disrespect intended she is a great player but she an opportunity that most in high school don’t get. I didn't follow her that close when she was in RBS I just know she was listed on their roster the beginning of 05-06 season. The fans know what she played but I just know she had an extra year that others didn't. Even without the 8th grade year she would have cleared 2500 easy. Just stating she was on their roster and did play in 8th for RBS high school team.

Leonard is in an elite group and what she has accomplished is amazing. But it is only fair to tell everyone that her 3000 pts came from 5 yrs of playing high school. She was allowed to play with RBS as an 8th grader. I’m not taking anything from her because she is great just stating a fact because it is almost unheard of for a high school player to reach 3000.

Athlete played two sports one being softball and was varsity for both at Dickson High, has a bad attitude and so the kids didnt have much to do with her. She had bogus paperwork drawn up saying she was going to live with her dad. She has not spent a night with her dad all year. Actually a school employee for her new school Creekwood takes her to school from her zoned Dickson High home.

Who has the time to watch a kid enough to know she hasn't spent a night with her dad? Someone has to much time on their hands if they keep up with the girl that good. If she was that big of a pain then let her go. It sound like more of a zoning issue with your county than an issue with tssaa. If her fathers address is a legitimate address and her all her paper work is filled out correctly then tssaa doesn't care.

I agree with King that this lady was awful and it is on tv so everyone sees it. That can't be good for her. I couldn't imagine the state championship game coming down to my call on a foul at the last second. I hate it for both teams because it shouldn't have come down to that. I saw some crazy fouls called in this game.

Everyone from this area knows what kind of force you are. Evidently you have impressed people all over Tennessee because that's who votes & who counts.

I think who ever received this award would be shocked because it was between 3 talented girls. Have you not made a big enough butt of yourself that you have to get on here and talk crap? Miss basketball doesn't come down to one play or one game. Davis is in our District and I can tell you that she a force and it's hard to contain her. You think you guys are the only district and region full of talent? Go to another topic and whine because this is about Lashay Davis Miss Basketball.
