  1. First of all congrats to Cannon for having a great season but have a question for the Cannon fans. Does it back yall feel better to boo the Central girls when they were walking in a halftime? I can understand high school kids doing it but the parents and fans did it too. Why? Maybe you have begun to up level of play from the kids and coaching to compete in your tough district but Livingston and Upperman can still show you how to act with class in the stands.

Another question. While both teams were on the floor in pregame warm ups. The two sisters mom pulled out one of those neon green Event Staff tee shirts, puts it on and goes out on the floor during warms. Is this allowed by the coaching staff? Or does she do what ever she wants? Once she got back to her seat she took it off. Since our guards did not allow either to hit a three I believe she should have stayed in the stands and let Coach Dodgen do the actual coaching.

First of all, that was NOT the sister's mom who went down to warm ups- didn't you notice there were several people wearing the same shirt. She's a fan of them. Second of all, she went down to give a piece of gum to another player not coaching advice. Just a tradition and she could go on the floor because her middle school team was ball girls.

  2. Interesting, same match up that I thought- different game sites. Overall does anyone think Upperman is a better team? I think if MC and Polk met 10 times- MC wins 8. No disrespect to Polk- good team and they deserved the win last night.
Central may have the better team, but last night Polk was. For the first time in who knows when, Polk came out not intimidated and took the game to Central. Polk controlled the game from the opening tip. Suprisingly, Central looked like the timid team that was playin not to lose. But, Polk deserves some of the credit for that. Both teams should be very proud. Combined 7 losses between the 2. Good luck to both teams Saturday night, especially Polk, and hopefully both can make it to the 'Boro....

You bring up a good point. I saw two of the previous three games between Central and Polk......and in each game Polk just had that look of being intimidated in their eyes at the beginning. When they played for the District Championship at CSCC, Polk started believing they could play with Central - especially late in the game. Coach Davis is a saged veteran, and I'm sure he built on that District Championship loss, convincing his ladies to take it to the Chargerettes from the get-go.

I'd love to see both Polk County and McMinn Central in Murfreesboro.

I would guess 6-4 Central if they played 10x. Reason being, the last 2 games, Polk knows they can not only play with them, but also beat them. Don't know much about Upperman, other than what I saw last yr when they played @ Central in the Sub-State, one of the best games I have ever seen btw. If they are anywhere near that good, it should be a great game.

Thought this was a thread on Cannon and Upperman game :thumb: Believe there's another thread about this game

  3. Casteel and Kinser and I heard that the Cannon County fans were terrible and that the refs let the game get out of hand and there was a double T'foul on a Cannon Co. player and a South Greene player, so no it wasn't just those thugs from South Greene. LOL I heard South Greene looked pretty good.

The refs did let the game get out of hand and that's why the CC fans were vocal. The game was about a 2-4 point game for the most part until the last quarter when there was a couple of calls that went South Greene's way and Cannon did match the points back on their possessions.

There was a player with stitches (bandage) over eye playing in the game for South Greene.

  4. I agree Cannon did fight back in each game after being behind. They could have easily given up, but didn't. "Luck" doesn't happen three times over.

The "one girl" --Emily Sissom --is also a freshman and stepped up big to score at least 20 points in the second half. She did about the same thing at Smith too. Seniors Brandon and Adams also didn't want it to be their last game either. Brandon nailed a crucial 3 and Adams contributed throughout the game.

Smith has sent Cannon home the last couple of years and the team was determined to make it to the region this year.

Congratulations Cannon-- with the young team that you have, this is only the beginning.
