  1. Just because they throw 80 doesnt mean they are good. Page has 6 guys who can hit 80, or at least, thats what a friend of mine who plays for Page said.

your right, that is correct, but with a little more info. from GMAN16 we could find out otherwise. what are some of the top arms of 10 AA?

  2. That's what people said on this board last year. Both Hickmans were cellar dwellers. Expect nothing different this year.

I beleive Hickman will definately be competitive this year with the addition of a talented coaching staff. With the results of last season these kids will be hungry for wins and compete game by game. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  3. REDSMAN,

My bad on the hind-catcher...I was trying to be newfangled. As far as pick-offs, keeping the first baseman off balance on picks is always the best method. We have replaced our fencing behind first base with some Pitch-Back netting to aid him on retrieving the pick that is thrown towards the back corner of bag in hopes of hitting the runner's hand. Ours will back back to him or our left fielder who charges two pitches early to get into position. Picks at second with LHanded middle infielders is easy for the shortstopsman whose glove is there, but a bit tricky for the secondbaseman. He must either backhand the throw or straddle the bag and try to catch it between his legs. We use a t-shirt shooter to practice this skill. The only issue with the glider is when you drop to one knee to early to throw it, the runner may get a good jump. We just have our hind-catchers scream "look out," jump in front of the batter to throw to third.

i need advice. I have an amputee left-handed second baseman who has trouble staying down on a ground ball. what are some drills you would suggest for this problem.

  4. Plueeze..all D1 . Thats more mail than Ole Santa gets..

Pretty cool though I didn't know the (NNY) Newport Nail Yankers recruited this far south.

Chris hutcherson has recently purchased a large mailbox because of D1 mail. He is an outstanding left-fielder and will hit 15+ homeruns.

  5. East Hickman has a good team and judging by what i saw today.. they have the best AA team in the county at least. they are kinda young.. give them two years. they will be contending.

i have alot of respect for east and how good they have become already, i also respect your opinion but by no means are they better than centerville.. they may have strong points like every team but so does HC. i think it will come down to who wants it more this year and the centerville boys lay it all on the line every pitch. come on out to both ends of the county March 31st and April 1st to see who wants it more /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  6. OK smart one HC gave east two pitchers.. one was a master a giving up 400 foot homeruns and the other was pulled in the first inning idk how many times.. They have been easily replaced and as for the scrimages HC beat CA 7-6 and tied CC 2-2 with our right fielder out sick.. Lewis has a tuff game coming up and with the kid HC is starting on the mound Lewis wont score much

i have heard HC could come out strong on the mound this year. from what i have seen it seems very likely. the offense is strong toward the top of the lineup but should balance out after the first few games

  7. How have teams in 10AA done in their preseason games?

    march 3rd HC defeated Columbia Academy in a 7 inning scrimmage... March 6th HC was tied up with Columbia Central through 7 innings . 7th inning score was 4-0 .. 9th inning score was 10-5 /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> .

  8. As long as the team stays healthy there won't be a problem offensivly.. with two starters out at a scrimmage against columbia central HC scored more than 12 runs i only hnow this because they batted around twice but no offical score was kept

those are decent numbers. if im not mistaken CC is triple A? correct me if im wrong. 12 runs scored against any team is respectable, let alone against an AAA school.. im anxious to see how centerville turns out in their district. good luck to all 10AA teams

  9. OK to begin with the middle schools are lop sided because east has a much better coach than centerville... But when you get to high school east only had 3 people start and one was because Ben Batts was out due to illness more than half the season... and all are very easily replaced.. and i'm not gonna mention names on here but you aren't very bright i was referring to the other person who missed the bus!!

any word on the bulldogs as far as offensively?.. and how will they stand in pitchers this year?. any predictions or stats?
