  1. Thank you for the Student Section tips... we'll have signs and if we win then we just might storm the court.. We wont block the locker room or anything though.

Isnt it our jobs to get in the heads of the players though? and you better hope emmanuel is playing though, otherwise we'll just leave after the first half since it will be a blowout and not a fun game at all to watch.

  2. As a recruit of Coach Corn, I can tell you this: He is getting players who want to continue their baseball career. If someone is going to experiment with baseball and maybe hang up their cleats after 2 years then he doesn't want them. I wish I could have grown into a d1 player, and I have it in my mindset that its still what I want. I plan to work at a UT/Tusculum level at Columbia and make every college I ever talked to regret not signing me. I know that may be unrealistic, but it's my mindset and probably most of the other players mindset that Coach Corn recruits. I really don't care if I can't go out Friday night because baseball went until 7:30. Obviously when my coaches now say we have to run 2 miles for conditioning I don't cheer and give them a big hug, but I'd rather get better than just run ten sprints and go home. I can understand that players quit because they wanted to have fun their last two years in baseball, but for Coach Corn's players, it will be hard work.

  3. Its great to have good-natured banter going during Coffee Pot week, but this sure is one-sided. Where are all the Tullahoma fans? Are we fair-weathered fans who only support our team when the team is winning?

The road crowds this year have been as small as any in recent memory. I want to challenge every Tullahoma person that can possibly make it to come out to Manchester Friday night for the renewal of this great rivalry.

Both teams settled down on offense last week and showed some promise. The difference so far this season is that the Red Raider defense has been consistently solid, while the THS defense only showed promise against Cookeville.

Yes Columbia was a very fast team, but not near as fast as Hillsboro, Maplewood, Whites Creek, and Stratford in general over the past few seasons. The difference is this Tullahoma team does not have the team speed of Wildcat squads in recent years.

To quote my friend Binns, "Football games are won or lost in the trenches", and this one will be no different. Hopefully the Wildcats can come together and begin saving their season with a narrow win over the Red Raiders.

If you can't make it to the game, or if you want to bring a radio and listen, the pregame begins at 6pm and kickoff is at 7pm on Fantasy 101.5 FM and FantasyRadio.com.

    Oh we'll be there.

  4. I've read every post on this subject and i'll tell you why its failing. the players have no pride thats a fact i'm not gonna lie. i would know i'm one of them. we will do something stupid, get yelled at. and laugh about it as soon as the coaches aren't looking. the parents like to send letters and stuff being mad at the coaches but my parents know not to do that because i tell them that i goof around all the time. they talked to the coach last year but i grew up and thought about it and there wont be anymore of that. all of these posts are coming from the people in the stands looking in. dont blame a certain group of poeple for a couple bad seasons. there is a difference between a young team and an immature team. this years team is both. that team in 74 must have just been a young team. but i guarantee that the difference between that team and us is the pride they had and showed. i actually have been on a team like that before. the babe ruth 13 year old state championship team. we had that pride and we worked hard and showed it. dont anyone ever say it was luck either. we went out in 90-100 degree heat every day for 2 a days with pratcices 3 hours a piece for 3 weeks straight and i wouldnt have had it any other way. thats what created that sense of pride in us. and when that state tournament came around we werent gonna let anyone think they were better than us. you dont get lucky 5 times in a row going 5-0 and sweeping through a state tournament. we had more 9 letter pride as 13 year old than we do now in high school. our team has the same attitude on the field as off the field. we'll cuss each other out and call each other names and tell another player how bad they stink just to make ourselves feel like were somebody. ive done them all. and that doesnt get anyone focused and it ruins it for anyone who is trying to get focused. thats the part of the team the fans dont see. but then i read all of this and its not happening anymore. i'm not blaming any coaches or players or anything i'll blame myself. i saw everything going on and i just joined in. i was hardly ever serious before or after a game. theres nothing we can do now but try to change it. so no more more blaming other people. no more saying the coaches are great the players stink. or the players are great the coaches stink. no more saying little league and babe ruth is great and high school stinks. no more blaming it on the kids that quit playing. lets just get the 1974 teams pride back and we'll see a turn around. i'm going to start doing everything i can to get it back for myself and try to get the rest of the team to follow. no one is going to make fun of us. no one is going to say "whats happened anymore" I'm getting that pride back that i used to have and im gonna try to get my teammates to get that pride back too. i know it was long so thanks to anyone who took the time to read this and see it from a players point of view. - chase morris

Not 1 strike out or error that whole 13 year old tournament. I remember we learned how to work hard and have fun, but the most important thing is that we all wanted to win the state extremely bad.

  5. Scouting!! are you serious? Dude we played you the night before. It was a routine fly ball!

Redbird9, Are you dissing Columbia's pitcher? Other than the 3 walks in the 3rd, (after sitting in the dugout for 30 minutes while Columbia scores 7) when did you have runners on base? The Horne boy domininated Tullahoma, 7 K's in 5 innings and you say "lucky"?

You may not know or respect the boy, after all he is just a lowly sophmore, but coaches in 8AAA do.

Columbia out hits Tullahoma 14-0 in a 5 inning game and you're calling it "luck". Get real!

I usually respect your posts Redbird, but this time you're way off base.

Columbia can hit the ###### shots... because thats the only thing our pitchers throw except for Bryant.

    sorry.. i mean meat balls
