  1. How did you think the pitching was for the Chiefs? Is Allen your top Pitcher? He did a really good job with his off speed stuff. Offensively Polk hit really well yesterday.

Allen can not be happy with that performance, he has better stuff than that. The Chiefs were lucky he is not pitching up to speed. He will have to get over issues with errors, just pitch his game. His team is young and errors are inevitable. I think the key player for Polk was their first baseman. I think he was 3 for 3 with several RBI's, and his scoops were timely.

  2. If you recall, I mentioned in an earlier post that I knew someone who HAD seen them play. Since he played college football, and coached at the high school level, I'll take his knowledgeable word as fact

It is just an observation, but does anyone else think this guy sounds alot like Barrack Obama. He's got answer/ excuse for everything he say's or has said. I do love your passion though, keep it up.

  3. Well the Mexican hit it right on. Phillips lasted a little over 4 innings. Score was 7-3, not 7-5 as predicted. Central had ten hits and if they would have drove runs home in early innings, the game would have been over in 5. Like I said I am glad you aren't a scout cause Starr might have ended up at Chatt State or Roane State. Again go see him after Med School and he will help you with your eyesight as well.

I have to hand it to you Mexican, you did call it, pretty much on the head. But I have to ask you this, who picked up the umps tabs at Memories after the game? TSSAA should not allow local umps to call local games at this time of the year. It has benefitted Central having Roberts call most all there games in the tournament this year.

  4. With the tournament format that was decided upon who benefits the most? I don't remember another tournament with this format, so I have no comparisons. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Well lets see, McMinn Central will probably have to beat Boyd twice, and Polk will probably have to beat Meigs twice to get to the finals. Hmmmm thats a tough one to figure out.

  5. The way polk is playing, I predict them to win it all. Especially if ole "my arm is too sore to play third on Tuesdays coach" Starr!

Coach Hart knows how to beat polk though

    Hart vs. Tripplett

    8 - 1

Polk is hitting the ball as well as I have ever seen them, and no matter what, McMinn Central will still have to pitch to them. As well as contend with their Pitching. Good luck to both teams.

Will we see a preview Monday and Tuesday or will each team hold something back? I sure would like to see both teams come out " a guns a blazing", but I believe we will have to wait for the Tournement. Good Luck to both programs, and to the seniors, its been a pleasure watching play through the years. I wish you all the best in the years to come.

  7. I see where Ooltewah got shut out Thursday by Notre Dame. What's going on at the nest? This used to be one of the strongest programs in the state, at a school with 900 boys to choose from to field a baseball team, and great youth rec and middle school feeder programs. Where did everyone go?

One went to Polk Co., and I'd say they sure are glad he chose there. He has stepped into that program and has filled in nicely. The people I have talked with say his whole family is real supportive of the program and they are a welcome addition.

  8. Yes, Chiefs Loose to Loudon 14-4. The chiefs gave the Redskins a scare early. Freshman D. Allen hit his first Home Run ( 3 run knock in the second) to give the cheifs a 4-1 lead after two. The chifs held the lead until the bottom of the fourth and the Loudon Bats came alive to score 11 runs in the last three innings.

Chiefs take on Fulton Today @ Fulton and will be home on monday vs Loundon! Go Chiefs!

Tell me "Big" do you know what the seeds will be in the district tourney, North and South?

  9. which game are you predicting the tigers to win? monday at meigs or tuesday at central? if i was guessing i would say it is going to be mcginnis-starr on monday. rayl-shaw on tuesday

I was predicting Monday's score, McGinnis must stay focused and not let them get in his head. If Meigs hits Starr early and plays sound D the games is theirs.
