We haven't heard much from chargers this year, but one can never count them out. They may have some issues with their pitching though, if they are forced to go with their young guns Meigs may fare better if they get to them early. Meigs is playing with alot of youth, and with a new coach, but their aggressive attitude and their never say die approach will keep them in this game. Meigs in a close one 6-4.

I just think it's wrong for a private school, with what would seem to be unlimited funds, to be able to take the gate, and concession money from small public schools. These schools count on this money for assisting in funding their programs. If TSSAA wants to allow this, they should pay these schools for their loss. For so long it seems the private schools have had an edge when it comes to school sports, they don't forfeit when they make it to the state play off's. Why should they be allowed to do it during the season. Polk Co. has been out matched by private schools in the past and to my knowledge has never forfeited. I guess our standards are a little different in Polk Co. My hats off to all the Wildcats for working hard and instilling such fear.

Can someone explain to me how a coach can decide to not make up a district game. After a rainout at Polk Co. on Monday, that was to be made up on Wednesday, Boyd Buchanan's Coach decided he doesn't want to make the game up. How can that be, they are both in the same district. Will TSSAA have anything to say about it, or do the private schools really have that much clout. Either way I believe something should be done for such a "bush league" call.

Bravo, well said. We must remember we are about to send these Seniors out into the "real world", where it isn't always fare. By being the oldest, senior, doesn't always get you ahead. You have to work harder, work smarter, and be the best. Number 1 isn't everything, but it gets you in the game.

I'm not sure about Mr. Baseball, but that team sure is hitting the ball well. Will they be able to do it through the play off's?

So tell me what you think. Are they that good or have they just been lucky?

I didn't get to see the Meigs Co., Polk co. game. Does anyone know how they played? I heard Polk won but that was all. Congradulations Polk Co. keep playing hard.

Easy Now!! Please understand me 6+4+3=2, I was referring to yours and Butch & Sundance's blogs about padding stats. I did not mean anything by it. Infact I am a supporter of the entire 5-AA freshman class. Look at Meigs # 22, the Moses boy from McMinn Central, the Allen boy at Sequoyah, the Allen boy, the Webb boy, the Lee boy, and the Raper boy at Polk. All these boy's are above average freshman and it will be great watching them play for the next several years. As for who's my team? Lets just say I have a little more interest in Polk Co.

I was not downing the freshman in any way, infact I agree with your statement " they are very consistant ballplayers." I too have watched them, and am happy that there will be some good baseball to watch for sometime to come. I do believe that those who thought that they would be less of a team, because of the # of seniors lost last year, might want to take another look. Polk County's underclassman are holding their own. Why do you guy's always want to kick Polk Co.? You know you can't wait to play them, admit it you are counting the days. I can't wait, at least these blogs may get a little better, Seriously I hope your hitting gets betters and you start scoring more runs, we don't want to here any excuses when the time comes.

I was not being serious about the boy on first, he is in fact an outstanding young man, but his speed on the bases is a bit suspect. I was refuring to the stats in the Chattanooga Free Press, the stolen bases must have been a typo.

It seems no one want's to speak out in this district. But Polk Co. is sure putting some #'s up. The boy's seem to be hitting the ball, there pitching is above average, and that big boy on first is racking up some stolen bases. I would say "Life is good" for the Wild Cats so far. How are the other schools faring?

Any predictions, I haven't seen Meigs this year but I bet it will be a good one.
